Sexy Fat Chick
I thought I'd keep a little online journal about my quest to lose my final fifty pounds before my brother's wedding on July 22, 2006.
I'm going to do the Lean for Life program and currently, I'm on day two of my Prep days. Monday, I'll start the protein days and start my daily visits to the clinic. Prior to starting this program, I lost 50 pounds on my own through a diet very similar to Lean for Life but I've been stalled at the same weight for four months. The reason I've stalled is because after losing 50 pounds, I look pretty good. Hence the name Sexy Fat Chick . When I look in the mirror, I think to myself A little chubby, but still kinda hot for a forty year old... Everyone who sees me tells me I look great. Men try to hit on me even when my husband is standing right next to me... Really, I look better than I have since my very early 20s even though I had years of thinness while in my 30s. My birthday is Monday, by the way...I'll be 41. While the positive affirmations have been great for my self-esteem, they've wrecked havoc on my diet. Now when I get hungry, I tell myself "Look at all that you've accomplished..." and then I reach for more food. Not junk food mind you, just more "good" (nutritionally dense) food and I end up eating more calories than I need. Fatty. Obviously, I'm still rewarding myself with food and justifying it by saying it's healthy food. I read somewhere here that it's preferred that others don't make comments on journals unless specifically requested by the author. If you're reading this and want to say something good or bad, please do. Tell me I'm great or tell me you hate me--it's all okay. Tell me about yourself, your dog, your good for nothing or wonderful husband--it's all okay. SFC |

Hey Bobby,
Thanks for the welcome. This program had better work--I've got a gorgeous dress I need to get into in July! Honestly though, I know I'll only get out of this what I put in and I intend to give it everything I've got. I wish you much success on your program as well. SFC |

Thanks for the welcomes oct2667us, Jackielbrown04, court613,cdn_gal and KatieM.
I'm looking forward to starting the actual program tomorrow--this higher fat food they have me eating during the prep days is making me feel kind of gross. The good thing is I've got the water and supplement intake down so there are no concerns of messing up the first few days. Tomorrow after I go shopping with my Mom, I'll haul my fat arse to the gym and start plugging away at the cardio. I WILL make this goal. I WILL NOT cheat for the next ten weeks. The dress I'm going to be wearing is the one on the right...[IMG] [/IMG] SFC |

My first weigh in today.
I lost 1.5 lbs. Only 32.5 to go by March 31. I had a dream last night that I was thin so I guess that's a good sign. Until tomorrow... SFC |

Another one is gone today which puts me at 29.5 to go by March 31.
Surely, this will slow down at some point. Wouldn't it be great if I continued to lose a pound a day? I'd meet my first goal in less than a month! Doesn't hurt to dream...I was able to start incorporating fruits and vegetables yesterday which was really, really nice--I missed them. I felt better too. Still kept the carbs low--48 was the total. Busy day ahead. Hopefully the scale goddess will be kind to me on Monday. I'll keep my end of the bargain. SFC |

I ate clean all weekend and exercised (walking 3.7 mph), for 45 minutes each day.
This afternoon, my husband and I went to reward myself for good behavior with a great massage. Now, I'm off to go sit in the spa and soak for a good hour. I hope the scale goddess is kind tomorrow. SFC |

I'm popping on here a lot later than usual today--it's been a busy day.
We're having our front yard completely re-landscaped. Between that and house-breaking our new puppy, going to the gym and doing the rest of the errands that need to get done on a daily basis, today has been a handful! What a pleasant surprise to see your kind words bdnlp. Thanks! I do a lot of reading of other members stories here myself--kind makes me feel less alone in my fatness if that makes any sense. Surprisingly, I was down another pound today. 28 more to go by March 31. Off to get a massage (I'm being indulgent this week) (plus, my back really needs it). Don't you just love getting massages? That's a great reward and you definitely deserve it. You're doing awesome and I think you'll meet your goal in no time. Weight loss may stall, but you never know- it may not. Enjoy it right now!

Thanks for the encouragement, Courtney!
Yes, massages are one of the best things on the planet. My husband bought me a block of ten of them as a Christmas gift--how cool is that?! That's why I feel like this about him: Well the scale goddess gave me another 1/2 pound loss today. Again, not much but still going in the right direction. In all honesty, I think part of the reason for the minor slow down is because I'm a little constipated this week despite taking all my Metamucil. What I'm really looking forward to is the week after next. At that point I should be in my 170's--it's been about two years since I've seen those numbers. Then, it's all downhill from there!!! I set up the goal to be 175 by Valentine's Day. It's a goal I WILL make. 27 more to go by March 31. Until tomorrow... SFC |

Well, I had another weekend of clean eating and exercise--I even started jogging today for part of my cardio workout.
Been busy all weekend with hubby and the remodel stuff we're doing to our home so at no point were either of us couch potatoes. To reward ourselves for all our hard work (and me for my good eating and exercise), we're getting a massage this evening. Hopefully the scale goddess will be kind tomorrow. SFC |
