Redqueen's Excellent Adventure to Onederland Journal
Let's see, I am new to this journaling thing. I titled it an "excellent adventure journal" because I am determined to reach goal in 2006 and in order to do it, I'm going to have to learn a whole lot about myself, develop & refine habits and it will be a journey into unfamiliar territory...Onederland!
I started South Beach on 9/3/05 (Drs. advice) after a nasty bout of pancreatitis & gall bladder surgery. I had been playing around with Atkins for years. I would lose, fall off plan and re-gain the same 20 lbs over & over again. I am also a type II diabetic, so getting weight & carbs under control isn't just about looks for me! I was not happy at the doc's suggestion, but I told him that I would try South beach for a couple of months, then I was going back to Atkins. After 2 weeks on South Beach, my fasting blood sugars were normal, and I was losing weight! I'm now a beacher for life! I was down 36 lbs, but gained 1 back over the Holidays! This morning I am committing myself to my goal of 170 lbs and a healthy 2006! I joined the "Get Your Kix in 2006" challenge over on the South Beach board. It will help me to keep focused, as will this journal. I am excited and hopeful for the future. This will be an Excellent Adventure!!
