I was 147.2 when I left for DC. Ate on plan the first day & then not so much the rest of the trip. Weight isn't too bad, though - 148 this morning. I've been on a peanut butter/apple kick for breakfast along with a medium size lunch & small dinner.

Thursday morning I go back for the next step in my root canals. I'm not sure exactly what they'll be doing, but he said he needs at least 1 - 1.5 hours, so I'm sure I'm going to be back on soft food for a few days At least last time I lost 5 lbs right afterwards from not being able to eat. If I could lose another 2 this time (since I'm not totally carbed up), I'd be happy.

Friday evening I leave for Milwaukee. It'll be hard to stay anywhere near on plan with frozen custard & other things I love there. Maybe my mouth hurting will be a blessing in disguise

Back to 146.6 this morning. I had my 2nd step in the root canals this morning. The pain in the afternoon was about 25% of what it was last time. The first time was awful. I came home @ 3pm (early) from work, took Advil PM & cried myself to sleep. This time I made it at work until 5:30 & then only took a 1 hour nap when I got home. Much better. I still have to go back for temp crowns & then perm crowns. More good times ahead

Today was a low food day. 2 scrambled eggs for breakfast. Tomato soup for lunch. Yogurt for snack. Tuna & a sugar-free pudding for dinner. It just hurts too much to chew.

I leave tomorrow after work for WI. Hopefully my sister's flight will be on time. I get in around 10pm & hers doesn't get in for another hour or hour & a half later. If it's late, that's just more time we'll have to kill hanging around the airport.

My dad told me he took my old waterbed (circa 1985) apart & put the daybed in my room. He also ripped out the carpet (also circa 1985), so that'll be a big change to see in my old room. My sis & I haven't been back at the same time to visit since our mom died, 10 years ago this month. I stay until Mon evening whereas my sis leaves Sun afternoon, so I'm thinking maybe I'll try to get my dad out to a movie on Sun night & maybe go to an archery range on Monday? When I told him that John & I did that in Tampa he sounded really interested. He used to go deer hunting during bow & arrow season, but that was long, long ago. I'm sure he'd have a blast trying it out again.

WI was good. Well, for me it was good. My sis took a layover flight because the direct flights were all a little too early & she would have had to leave work early. She's only been there for a little over a month & didn't feel comfortable doing that. Turned out to be a bad decision. There was bad weather in Minn so she got diverted to South Dakota to re-fuel & then missed the flight to Milwaukee by about 15 min. She ended up spending the night at the MSP airport. Not a fun start!

We tried going to the brewery tour, but the tickets were all sold out. Sucks because they don't offer online ticket buying. We went early to the Harley museum instead & got to see a lot of cool bikes that people had ridden to the museum all parked outside. The museum was really well done.

I ate terribly, but not a lot. So I only gained 1 lb. It was stubborn coming off. I'm finally back down to 146.6 this morning.

John flies in on Thursday. We're going to try seeing The Dark Knight at IMAX on Friday. Then eat at his friend's restaurant on Sat. Sunday we'll head down to Atlantic City. It'll be my first poker tournament. We have dinner reservations for a nice dinner at the steakhouse at The Borgota. Then he goes back to FL on Tues, hopefully for the last time. Looks like we'll be moving him back over Labor Day weekend & he's going to move in with me. Can't wait to take that next step & my life changing

146 this morning. Soooooo close to being under 145 again. Of course it figures John will be here tomorrow night & I'll be eating bad. I told him to not let me splurge at any meal except our b-day meal in AC, which is at a steakhouse. I think I can eat low carb there if I don't get tempted by the bread, etc. Right now I'm planning on the filet, side of spinach, maybe side of mushrooms & fresh berries for dessert. I know he'll order a bottle of wine. I'm so looking forward to the whole meal & the trip

I bought tickets for the Dark Knight @ IMAX on Friday. Fandango didn't have anything for the weekend showing up until this morning. All the Sat shows were sold out already & the only Fri show left was the 9:30am. So it looks like we're getting up early! Stinks because that means we'll be battling the morning commuters on the way up there

Welcome back!

Congratulations on the new direction things are taking with John!

I saw Batman at the IMAX on the week-end and it was great!! I'd actually like to see it again as some scenes happened so quickly I feel I missed a lot.

Whew, haven't been here in a long time Mostly I haven't cared consistently about eating lately. I gain five, I lose five, I gain five, I lose five. Today I'm at 148.8. Not terrible, but enough already - this is just getting

John moves up on Wed. I'm trying to figure out some type of 'welcome home' present to give him. I have a ton of Macy's coupons, so I might head up there this afternoon. I'm thinking maybe a coffee press? He drinks coffee occasionally, I don't (ever). I'd need to walk over to Whole Foods first to see if they have a coffee grinder there. Otherwise I guess I'd need to buy a small grinder as well & that's starting to get pricey.

I'm so scared he's going to come up & start cooking all kinds of fab high carb dinners & I'll put on 10-15 lbs. I'm trying to head him off at the pass by buying a ton of low carb foods to have the kitchen all stocked up before he gets here.

Then there's the vacation weight I know I'll put on. We're going out to wine country & San Fran for a week. We'll be there in 2 weeks Nothing but wine tasting & eating for 4 days & then a few days to enjoy the sights in SF. It should be a really fun time.

Let's see how low I can get before I go. I told John when he gets here he needs to make me go to the gym with him in the evenings. He's been on a good roll of going every other evening. I need to get moving.

OMG your vacation will be great!! I have no advice how to NOT gain weight, but enjoy and tell us about it when you get back.

It will be an adjustment having someone in your space, even if you him. Good luck, hope it is a smooth transition.

DH and I lived together for a year before we got married and it was tough at times!!

Happy September,
sandy

I did! I spent hours there today instead of studying - bad me! But they were having such good sales I bought him the coffee press. I stopped by Whole Foods first & saw that they have about 4 decaf coffees to pick from in barrels that you can grind there. I'll go back on Tues night & see if I can figure it out.

I got a bunch of stuff for myself, too A girl has to have new clothes to look cute on vacation, right?? Well, I had a bunch of coupons, too. I checked out four different times in different areas to make the best use of my coupons - hehehe. I managed to get two new pairs of jeans for less than $100 total after the sales & coupons. Now I just have to get them hemmed since they're both way too long. Even if they get too big quickly, I don't mind. I seem to be good with jeans for at least 10 lbs up/down & can wear them to work once or twice a week, so they'll get used. Now to find a tailor who can get them done in time for the trip (Macy's alterations dept was swamped - backed up for almost 3 weeks )

147.4 this morning. I brought in my own lunch & made chicken wings for dinner. Now I'm baking jicama fries again. I'll let John try them tomorrow night to see how he likes them. If he doesn't, I'm sure I'll have no problem eating them all myself

I'm so tired. All I want to do is go to bed early, but I have to clean up, clean the bathroom & finish laundry so the place is presentable for tomorrow.
