Moving yuck! It's super stressful but sounds like you are moving into a great new situation for you!

Are you eating enough? I get RAVENOUS in the afternoon if I skimp on food in the am. This is something I've just learned. I'm much better at controlling my food input eating 6 times a day. Tuna and eggs work too!

What would your dream man be like? Sorry you're having to deal with jerks!

I work in JC also company moved us out there a year ago. I HATE IT. They realized its not working and we will be back in Manhattan by the end of 1st qtr 08.
When people from the NY office come out and ask what is good to eat I say well out here we get our food from a truck, Greek truck, Pizza truck and Burrito truck
I love the view of the river we have but thats about it...I would rather be a block away from the 3 b's anyday Bloomies, Barney and Bergdorf.

I'm definitely eating enough. I didn't realize TOM was creeping up on me, which probably had me holding on to some water weight. I'm 143 today & that's weighing in the afternoon. Hope to be back in the 130's sometime this month.

Dream man? At this point, just someone who wants to be with me! LOL. Kidding. I actually thought I'd found someone I wanted to be in a relationship with. We've been friends for a while & I started wanting more. He treats me really well & we get along great. So I made it very obvious with some serious flirting the last couple of weeks & got the 'it's not you, it's me' speech today. He's not in a great place in his life right now & isn't sure if he'll be staying in the city, so he doesn't think it's fair to either of us to move it beyond friendship at this point. While I understand his point, I'm not sure now what to do with our friendship. He doesn't want it to change anything, but how do I get over my feelings of wanting more if we're still hanging out & talking? It's the saga of my love life. I find someone I like & they're always unavailable for some reason or another. Ugh.

Haha! I'm kind of neutral on working in JC. It's an easy commute for me & I get almost no down time wherever I work, so one place is as good as another. We get free lunch delivered, so finding lunch isn't a problem since I'm working through it anyways. Being close to shopping would be a nice bonus, though. Although come to think of it, my actual bonus might end up going towards shopping if that was the case. Maybe it's a good thing I'm out in JC - can't spend any $$ out there!

Wow sorry dating in NY can be rough I had a similiar situation where he wasnt sure if he was moving. Good thing we didn't take the friendship further because he ended up moving 6 months later to AZ.

What restaurant does your company have an account with in JC? Are you near the Exchange place stop?

Thanks girlie. It's just embarrassing that I made it so obvious that I wanted to take it to the next level that he had to have a discussion with me about it. And being rejected, even if for good reasons, still stings. I probably won't see him now for a while in person. We normally hang out on Friday nights, but this Friday I have plans with another friend to see The Brave One & go to dinner. At least with him I know there will never be anything since he lives with his boyfriend

I do work near Exchange Place. It's weird because I can look out the window at work & see my apartment building on the other side of the river And yet it still take 30 min to get home

Our company orders from Cosi & Harborside Grille. Cosi's salads are good, but even if I special order with no bread, they usually don't pay attention & I get it anyways. I should just throw it away, but I end up putting it to the side reasoning that if I get reeeeeealy hungry in the afternoon, I can use it as an emergency snack. Of course I usually cave to temptation I think when I get in my new place next month I might just take 2 weeks & bring my own lunch to kick start myself. It won't be free, but it's probably what I need.

So I weighed in at 141.8 this morning. Getting closer to the 130's again. I ate almost nothing yesterday, though. The breakfast my friend made before the speech - french toast w/ homemade syrup & walnuts, and then some bacon for dinner. Lots of water. That was it. Today I'm thinking eggs & bacon for breakfast. Tuna for lunch. And either stir fry or chicken for dinner. Gotta get to packing. Only 2 weeks left before the move & I'm totally not ready

Cosi is good but their salad choices become limited. Their bread is yummy hard to throw out. We rarely order from Cosi because you need a $25 min and it's hard to get a bunch of people to agree on the same day.
I get a grilled chicken caesar salad from the Flamingo diner (no croutons dressing on the side) The chicken is soooooo yummy and its hot so it hits the spot. Sometimes I order omelets from there as well for lunch.
I just started WW's but I am trying to watch my carb intake but not make myself crazy.

I'll have to check out the Flamingo for a possible dinner option when I'm working late - the salad sounds yummy! Good luck with the new plan - not making yourself crazy sounds good to me

I weighed in this morning @ 142.4, mostly because I ate like a sane person again. Of course my appetite returned during the work week. I had a huge dinner of stir fried steak, peppers & onions with mashed cauliflower last night. Hopefully that means I can get through the morning on my planned 5 pieces of low sodium bacon & yogurt. I'm thinking salad sounds good for lunch.

Time to get to work!

I was chilly walking in this morning Although if it's sunny, it's usually warm in the am where I sit since I'm close to the windows that face east.

I made the bacon at home right before I left, threw it in a baggie & brought it in to eat when I got to work. For some reason bacon & vanilla yogurt make a really good breakfast combo for me. I crave it!

I think I am having bacon and yogurt tomorrow morning sounds good. It's that or a pumpkin muffin from au bon pain believe it or not the muffin is higher in WW pts than a yogurt and bacon.

If you see me near the PATH station with a bunch of dogs trailing after me, you'll know I'm bringing in bacon again, too It's like my own little secret when I'm walking to work & people always have a funny expression on their faces when their dogs try to turn around to follow me

It WAS me. Just call me the pied piper

Mmmmmm.....bacon. Homer talking to the spider pig....don't worry spider pig, I'd never eat you

Still hanging in the 142 range. I'm guessing I'll be able to break out this weekend. I'll be so busy packing I probably won't eat too much.

Going out to an art gallery in SoHo tonight with my friend. Yeah, the one I said I probably wouldn't see for a while. I lied. Tomorrow is dinner & a movie with another friend. So I should have a couple of fun nights before the weekend from hell is upon me. I started putting my clothes in wardrobe boxes last night before I got distracted by an IM session. Note to self - no tv or computer on when trying to pack, only music.

Does James like bacon? Because I'll wear a necklace of it if he'll sing to me. How cool that you got to see him!!

I'm at 143.6 today. Probably I'll be back to 142 by the end of the weekend I keep doing this up & down thing with 5 lbs. At least I'm not gaining anything new, though.

Went out with my friend on Thursday night. We went to the art gallery, looked around - it was too crowded. So then we went to dinner at a nice Italian place a few blocks away. He's been cooking for me - a few dinners, breakfast - so I told him I would treat. I should have looked at the wine list & the prices before I offered It was an expensive night. But good.

Last night I met up with another friend & got my late birthday present (my b-day was about 7 weeks ago). He got me a gift card to Macy's You can never go wrong with letting a girl shop for her own present. We had dinner at another Italian restaurant. The appetizers were good, but the pasta was a little underdone. After dinner we went to see The Brave One in Times Square. Really, is there anyone who lives here who really likes going to Times Square? I hate it. But that theater always has better times available, so we keep going back. Drama at the theater when some women got upset that the guys next to them were putting their feet up on the railing. They were shouting at the guys (as the movie was starting ) & then called security. The other people in the theater started yelling at the women then & telling them to shut up. It was kind of an important part of the movie right at the beginning. But I liked the movie. A good revenge movie is always entertaining.

So today is packing day. And I need to try to get rid of the couch. I have to call one person back today to see if they want to come & look at it. I can't wait for this move to be done!!

143 today. I really thought it would be lower because I didn't eat much yesterday. I guess the two previous nights of drinks & Italian food caught up to me.

I'm STILL waiting to see if some people are going to come & get my couch/ottoman for sale. They were supposed to come yesterday, but couldn't find a van to rent. Now they're supposed to come this morning between 9-9:30. It's 9:40 right now

The packing is going ok. I got a lot done yesterday & my bedroom is nearly packed up. My friend wanted me to go out last night - there was midget stripping at a bar he was going to - but I figured it would be better to pass since today is still going to be jam packed with more packing. My sis is going to help me out this afternoon, so that should make it a little more fun.

Thanks sweetie

They just came & took the couch. It was a hassle because it's so big & heavy. But I got my cash & now have some room to put the boxes that are piling up. It's good that it's gone, but sad, too. That was the first real piece of furniture I ever bought for myself. But the people who bought it seem nice - a young couple with a few kids out in Queens. I think they'll get a lot of use out of it.

I packed my scale yesterday It's going to be hard getting through the next week not weighing myself. But it'll probably be good for me.

I'm about 90% packed now. I still have some odds & ends to pack, some things I can't pack until the last day or so, some old paperwork to dispose of, etc. But I think it'll be ok. I'll have to take care of things after work, which is hard because I'm usually mentally exhausted by the time I get home. But in a week I'll be moved & will just be worrying about unpacking.

Hey there...just stopping in to say hi after a very long hiatus...
I have a baby now! Part of the reason I was gone for so long. He is just two weeks old.
I'm glad to see you are still around and active.

I took not having a scale to be a free license to eat whatever I wanted Why can I not manage to get motivated to lose these 10 lbs I've put on??? I get so mad with myself, but I cave so easily these days to the temptations of food. I need to start exercising again, too. I'm going to turn in my release forms for the gym here in the building so I can start using it. It's just a matter of turning them in during business hours.

I love this time of year when I can start to wear boots again. My boots always make me feel more put together. I can wear high heeled boots, but shoes always rub for some reason. I just bought a completely impractical pair of red velvet boots that are entirely too expensive for being RED, but what the heck - they make me feel sexy, so I'm keeping them

I'm not even willing to get on the scale right now. Tonight I'm getting a grocery order of nothing but good low carb food. It'll be enough to last me a week or so. I'm boiling eggs right now. I feel so bloated with this extra weight. My clothes don't fit. I WILL be better this week.

I have been better this week. I had to go to the doctor recently & of course they always make you weigh. The nurse took a look at me & started around 135. Up, up, up, up. She hit the 150 mark, looked at me & said, more? Ugh. I can't believe it. Even though it was with clothes & shoes, I was at 151.5. How did I get so close to 130 & now I'm battling again in the 150's? Next goal is to get below 145 again. Even at 142 I didn't feel bad, so that'll be my mini goal. This morning I was at 147.2.

I've thought a lot about what my problems are & there are two main ones that I've identified. One - the guy I'm seeing (yep, the one who might move away - we decided to make a go of it for the time being) likes to eat. When we see each other, we're either going out to dinner or eating in & watching a movie. Movie night consists of a bottle of red wine, brie & crackers, chocolate, etc. And the boy likes to cook me breakfast. Nice, but his specialty is french toast. Last time, I made myself bacon & eggs. Gave him a break & kept me on plan. I need to get more snack things that I can eat if he still wants the bad stuff. We recently discovered some really great salami at a store near here, so maybe I can go with salami & cheese with the wine. Better choices.

Two - I'm just not at the right place right now to do induction. The thought of it is enough to make me not even care about gaining weight. I kept trying, would make it a day (or not even) and splurge on something terrible for me. So I'm going to ease into it. More OWL eating until I feel I've got some cravings under control. With the holidays fast approaching, I know myself well enough to know this is a better option for me right now. Yes, I want to take the weight off fast. But it's better that it comes off slowly than all the 'I want to's' that never seem to happen lately.

So there we go. We have a pre-thanksgiving party to go to next weekend. I'll have to do my best to eat lots of meat & veggies along with something not so terrible - maybe cranberries are a better option instead of mashed potatoes (one of my absolute favorite carbs). I'll do my best with what's available & not beat myself up over not eating perfect since I'm not trying to do induction.
