Back to 141.4 today. I knew yesterday was an anomoly! I'm going to try breaking myself of my Atkins bar habit. I only have a couple left, so I'll save them for emergencies - stash one in my purse.
I didn't get my abs DVD in yesterday. I was in my closet after I wrote my post & was reaching for a box on the top shelf & twisted my back wrong. Something was pinching for a few hours, so I figured I'd wait until today. |

sigh - back at 141.8 this morning.
I did my abs DVD yesterday. Tonight I'm going to do an arm weight workout. I hooked up my VCR last night to my TV in my bedroom. It's just been sitting there for over a year since I usually use the DVD player. But I have some older workout tapes on VHS that I used to like. One is the arms workout & the other is an all-over body workout. They're both pretty short - maybe 10 & 20 min. That's about all I can handle of workout tapes before I get bored I'm making baked chicken right now, so no doubt my smoke alarm will go off shortly. Whenever I bake something at a high temp or broil, it always goes off. Scares me senseless, too - it's so loud!

OK the previous post was advocating for dating bald men but probably the sweaty rolly polly guy who's a grandfather would be pushing even my tolerance. Overall my theory is bald(ing)=more testosterone=more competative and better able to be a good provider/. I've had both bald and unbald husbands and the bald ones are better as husbands, unbald better as girlfriends (eg. confidents). The way I found DH was via the internet-I did a keyword search for dogs and liked what he wrote.
Bars cause me to stall. Good for you for stopping the bar habit! I think 140 really is right around the corner. Just be religious about whole foods. Seal |

I had a bar yesterday
I was hungry in the afternoon. A fly landed on my chicken when I was sitting outside eating lunch, so I was grossed out enough not to eat that part of the chicken that it landed on It seems to have worked out ok, though. I was down to 141.2 this morning. I did a little test with my scale, too. I got dressed in my work clothes, put on a pair of shoes & weighed myself. Then walked to work & waited for the medical center to open. There's a doctor's scale in there, so at 8 I went down & weighed myself. It was just about 1 lb higher than my scale at home. 1 lb isn't that big of a deal, so I'm not going to stress over it. If it had been 5 lbs, I probably would have had red rimmed eyes for the rest of the morning.I'm off to do my arms workout before dinner is finished baking. Oh, and I do find some bald men sexy - I'll have to keep my eyes open for them..... |

140.6 this morning. Now if only I can stay strong. I'm taking my sister out to dinner to celebrate her finishing taking the bar exam. I know she's going to have a margarita. I think I'll pass on having a drink. I was good for lunch - had a salad with some tuna from the cafeteria. Gotta run & get dressed to go out to dinner

Whew - still only 140.8 today. I was scared to get on the scale! My sister & I ordered take-out chinese food last night - chicken with cashews & shrimp in garlic sauce. I didn't have any rice & talked her out of the order of dumplings. I was feeling really bloated last night & thought there might have been a ton of sugar in the sauce. Hopefully not.
Tonight we're going out to a Brazillian steakhouse  It's my early birthday celebration dinner. My b-day is actually Monday, but I'm not sure if I'll have to work late that night, so we're going out tonight & then will probably celebrate at my place on Mon with a bottle of wine, some cheese my dad sent (from Italy & Switzerland - isn't that sweet that he was thinking of the upcoming trip my sis & I are taking?) & whatever else I decide to whip up. We'll see how good I am tonight. The premise is that you get salad bar (which includes sushi ), then after you're done with that, you flip a disk at your table - from red to green - signaling you're ready for the meat. They have chefs pushing around carts of meat, which they slice up & give to you at your table. When you don't want them to stop anymore, you flip the disk back to red. Then the dessert cart comes around. Should be a fun dinner. I have to figure out what to wear!! |

to me I was up to 142 today thanks to some pre-birthday celebrating over the weekend. I had a few pieces of sushi at dinner on Sat as well as some really good little bitty rolls. Sunday we went to brunch after hitting the Darwin exhibit at the Natural History museum. I went with a turkey club sandwich - only ate 1/3 of the fries - and champagne. Tonight for my actual b-day dinner we were fairly good - had salmon stuffed with crab, creamed spinach, zucchini and then cheese & sparkling wine for dessert. Hopefully tonight I'll sleep good. I slept terribly last night. 6am always rolls around so fast.... |

Thanks ladies! My b-day was good. I didn't have to work late & came home to my sister making dinner. Well, I ordered the food & she put it in the oven - not too much work on her part!
But then I got a present from one of my friends - Belgian chocolates. They're all gone now. Oh well, the scale went up to 143 & today I'm back to 141.8. My sister is having a party next Sat to show off her new place, so my goal is to be good for the rest of the week until her party. We went out for a 2 mile walk yesterday & tried to play tennis, but the courts were all full & there were a lot of people in line waiting, so we didn't get to play. Just the walking was still good exercise. |

I haven't posted in a while. Probably because the scale wasn't moving for me. I was stuck at 142.6 for days. Then I cut out all drinks other than soda again & am down to 140.6 today. Even though I only drink diet/caffeine-free drinks, I guess I'm one of the unlucky ones that doesn't lose well with drinks other than water.
My sister is throwing a party tomorrow night at her new place. Of course there will be lots to tempt me - drinks, dessert, appetizers. We'll see how well that goes... |

Sooooooooo close! 140.0 this morning. I waited another 30 min & got back on the scale hoping it would make it to 139.8, but no such luck.
I got my new camera this week, so I'm going to try playing with it a little today before my sister's party. Not that it's going to be a wild & crazy time, but it's fun to have an event to bring a camera to. Today I have to clean up my place - I've been slacking big time with keeping it clean. I also want to run up to Lord & Taylor to check out their summer clearance sale. Maybe there will be some cute clothes on sale to take on my trip. In 3 weeks I'll be in Italy ![]() |

139.6
I can't believe I'm FINALLY single digit pounds away from goal. I haven't seen the 130's since probably 1997. I got close 2 years ago, but never made it past 140. Not that this is much past it, but it was such a rush to see 130-anything on the scale this morning!I was thinking this morning I'm pretty much home free until vacation as far as events go that might tempt me. Then of course I find out there's a drinks meet-up on Wed with some of my old co-workers. One is moving back to Canada, so I have to go. I'll just make sure I have a snack before I go & then stick with something like vodka tonic, which isn't so bad. Hopefully tomorrow I'll still be in the 130's. That would be a major downer to see it only for one day. |

Thanks
I was still in the 130's this morning coming in at 139.4. Today I had a little chicken for lunch along with a small piece of corn on the cob. I was just so sick of salads - couldn't have another one. Didn't eat the beans that came with the meal, though. I don't think corn affects me too much - it pretty much passes right thru, right? Tomorrow is drinks with some former co-workers. We'll see if anyone notices my 10 lb weight loss. Probably not since it'll be mostly guys. |

139.6 today. And that's only because I've skipped some meals over the last couple of days! Wed evening I went out with some former co-workers. One of my old bosses is moving back to Canada, so he expensed all the drinks on the company. They kept buying me round after round. I ended up drinking 3 1/2 large glasses of vodka/club soda. Then I had some bar food - 1 1/2 mini cheeseburgers, a couple of chicken strips & one other thing I can't remember now. The next day I felt so sick! I couldn't stand the thought of food for breakfast, so only diet Sprite for that meal. Lunch I managed 1/2 salad. Dinner was fine.
Then yesterday my current team at work & I went out for lunch. I had a tuna melt on light rye. Cole slaw & a pickle as sides, no fries! I know I was up from the bread because I weighed when I got home from work. It was an exhausting week, so I went to bed around 7 with no dinner. Today I need to work at re-hydrating myself. I have plenty of low carb options in the refrigerator for meals this weekend, so I should be set. Tomorrow my sis & I are going out to NJ to do our big stock-up on supplies. I think we're going to hit Target this time instead of Wal-Mart. It's a little closer & we also want to look at clothes. I don't like the selection of clothes much at Wally World. I finally found a petsitter who was available to watch my piglet (cat) while I'm on vacation. She's going to come next week to meet Kaylie & get keys from me. In only 2 weeks I'll be in Italy!!!!! I took some new pictures last weekend - hopefully they show that I'm getting skinnier?? ![]() ![]() |

Thanks - with all the running you're doing, I'm sure you'll get to the 130's faster than I did!
139.2 today. I thought for sure I would be up this morning because I feel kind of bloated. Weird that I was down when I was sure I was going to be up. My instinct is usually right on. Pleasant surprise, I guess. I went out for a walk this morning & saw some interesting things. #1 - saw a woman in a leather suit "walking" another woman in a plastic catsuit while carrying a whip. They must have been making some type of film because there were a couple of camera guys filming them. #2 - this family was feeding the squirrels in the park & one of the squirrels was ballsy enough to get up on the guy's lap to try to get the food! I love living here. You never know what you're going to come across I'm off to Target to spend more $$ in a couple of hours. Then this evening we might take in the movie Little Miss Sunshine. It's supposed to be really good. |

138.6. I think I can manage to get to 137 before next Friday? That should give me a cushion of a few pounds to play with while I'm on vacation. I totally intend on eating somewhat off plan. How many chances will I have to get to Italy? I'm thinking if I eat something with carbs one meal a day, that won't be so bad. We'll see how that goes! I have no idea how easy/hard it will be over there to find meals without pasta/pizza/etc.
Today I was doing good for lunch - went to the cafeteria for chicken. Got back & started eating it when I found a bug on the chicken. Now I realize these things happen. It probably flew onto the food. But it grossed me out enough that I threw away the rest of the lunch. I'd only had maybe 5 bites of chicken before I threw it away. I ended up eating a few squares of 70% Lindt chocolate & some pork rinds instead. I think I'll order a salad for dinner to make up for the chocolate lunch Little Miss Sunshine was a good movie. Both my sister & I really enjoyed it. We ended up spending entirely too much $$ at Target, but who doesn't? Hehe. |

I leave TOMORROW!!!!!
Looks like my weight will be about 140. Eh - it's ok. I've been eating some carbs this past week - fruit, a few pieces of sushi, a bagel one day (went & got eggs & a slice of cheese to put on it so I didn't go completely into shock). I wanted to lose more, but I also didn't want to go so strick that I would get sick on vacation when I eat some carbs. So I decided to add them back in & worry about the weight when I get back. I'm sure it will be a fun trip |

I'm back!!!! We had the best time. It was gorgeous weather just about every day - just one evening thunderstorm in Switzerland. It was sooooo relaxing. Of course, I ate everything in sight. Croissants with nutella for breakfast, pasta in Italy, potatoes in Switzerland. But we were active enough that I was only up to 144 when I got back on Wed evening. I'm already back down to 141 and hope to see the 130's again next week.

138.8 today
I joined a Biggest Loser type competition on Friday with some guys from work. I'm the only girl participating this time. For the weigh-in, I bulked up with a heavy blazer, boots, breakfast and a few glasses of water. My boss's boss made a rude comment about my 148 lb weight not being very good. Ha! He's over 300 lbs. Like that's healthy. They usually weigh in on Mondays (I just weighed on Fri because I was late getting into the competition), so I'm hoping I have a nice loss tomorrow that will get them worried. Yesterday I did my abs workout & then walked around the city. Today I did a workout DVD & might try to walk a little later if it doesn't rain. |

I weighed in at 138 this morning. 138!!!!!!!!!! I haven't seen that number in about 10 years. I'm afraid to claim it in my stats, though, until I see it for at least a couple of days. It just seems too good to be true.
I'm already in 1st place in the weight loss competition at work. I think being in the competition will help me lose these last 10 lbs, along with the Tight Jeans Challenge. Both are very motivating Today I took the stairs at work three times. My heart is pounding by the time I get to my floor. It's a really good way to get a little exercise at work. |
