Introducing the Weight Loss Journals board!
One step to success with your weight loss program is tracking your progress and adjusting your exercise and diet. This is an area for members to keep a personal journal, weight log, measurements etc. It helps to write things down so you can see your progress. Keep yourself accountable with an online journal! Record your starting point, establish your goals and then watch your progress! Your daily and weekly journal is your aid in staying the course and reaching your goals!
To get started, just start a new thread and include your member name in the thread title such as "Cheri's Journal". Only one journal per person please - and only weight loss related journals. This is not an area for off-topic journaling. Please keep comments to a minimum in the journals of others unless they indicate they want others posting in their journal. This is THEIR journal so please don't ask questions or engage in discussion unless invited. There are other forums for that purpose. A short message of encouragement is usually helpful. If people are posting in your journal after you've asked them not to, please use the "Report Post" (the triangle icon on the left side under the name on the post: ) to alert the moderators to the post that needs attention. Please do not PM an individual moderator about it - that will usually slow down the response time.Remember that the Terms of Service rules apply to journal posts just like any other message post on LowCarbFriends. Happy blogging!

The Newbiesite has a LOT of information... the rules for induction... acceptable food list...a carb/nutritional counter.. Menu samples.. FAQ... Fitday to track your progress, several tools no matter what phase of lowcarbing you are in and a whole lot more. It is a great site for newbies as well as the seasoned lowcarber. I would gladly weigh 300 pounds if I could be a size 6 (don't forget to measure... its the inches that show!) . Don't be a victim of Dieters remorse.. Don't cheat.. stay on plan!

cheri... i just had a question...
i dont have a journal yet... but was wondering if we can post pics in them like we do in the main lobby... i think it would be neat to post weekly pics in mine to see progress on certain body parts... (you know how obssessed i am with my belly ha ha) or if its just for "words" ... i thought id ask before i did it in case you wanted to keep it to just words for space sakes or whatever reason... hope your well... |

You can post pictures.. it is your journal sweetie... post weekly, monthly pictures if you want.. do what helps you stay on plan and keeps you motivated... I have found that pictures show the loss more then anything else and it is a great idea... I am sure others seeing your post will follow suit and post progress pictures as well!!
Thanks for asking and I am looking forward to seeing your Journal!!! Take care!! cheri |

Is there any way to go back in and edit my day? I was going to add water, dinner, etc. to my day but I can't figure out how to edit my daily entry. Am I just blind?!? Sorry if this is obvious, I'm not sure if I just have to enter the whole day at once, or add new posts if my day changes...
Thanks in advance for the help! |

Thank you for such clear guidelines for JOURNAL protocol. Really clear!
I just started a BLOG to track my feelings and to record epiphanies on my journey. I'm mostly Atkins, just beginning to read ALGittleman. Such a lot I don't know about simple nutrition! I shall be back to start a JOURNAL when I get my stats written down - inches and pounds and the nitty gritty stuff. Aghhh! Meanwhile I am blogging to kickstart each LC day. Comments welcome! |

As an alternative to posting your weight loss journal in this forum, you can also choose to do it in a Blog right here at LowCarbFriends. With blogs, you can control who can post comments to your blog and choose who can view it. If you want to keep it private, you can do that. Please note that Blogs are still subject to this site's Terms of Service.
Click on Blogs in the blue bar at the top of this page to get started. One of the first things you will want to do it set up your preferences in the Blog User Control Panel |

Good! We all deserve to have a record of our efforts and successes on this journey. I am writing not so much in my WLJournal as in my BLOG and in a couple of threads that are significant supports for my daily efforts. But I shall post in my WLJournal as I lock in behaviors that are actually working for me! I'm asking people who connect to put their feedback into my BLOG, rather than in my WLJournal, which I understand is better used as a clinical log than as a chatty log of ups and downs. At least, that's how my writing seems to work.

Hi, Just joined low carb friends and it seems I`ve found a great friendly community forum, just what I`ve been looking for.
I have recently started following a weight loss program which seems great for me. Hope to start a journal soon but I think I`ll keep reading other peoples for now, some great stuff here. Peter |
