What supplements have you tried that did or didn't work?

What worked:

The only supplement I've taken that showed real results was Strontium, which increased my bone density up to 7% after two years. I have another bone density test this coming November and I'm very curious to see what my bone density is now that I've been taking Strontium for 4 years.

What didn't work:

- Biotin for my thinning hair. But I'm still taking it anyway.
- Green Coffee Extract for post meal BG highs. Waste of money; I'm now on Metformin.
- Cinnamon supplements for post meal BG highs. See Green Coffee Extract comment.
- Estroven for hot flashes. Nothing seems to help those, 7 years and counting.

What supplements have worked for you? Or not?

Magnesium in powdered and liquid form helped with sleep and energy. Resistant starch may have helped to lower blood sugar, although I am not sure about this.

Mine would be a combination working in unison:

Magnesium (ionic and oil), D3/K2. My vit D3 levels are finally going up into a healthy range. My energy is soaring. I think being ketosis adapted plays a role too.

I'm also taking an omega3 supplement (from Trader Joes) and potassium. Not sure if they are making a difference.

Melatonin to help sleep.

And I second what others have said about Natural Calm/magnesium citrate.

Boron. In my reading I ran across a couple of articles about boron being involved in bone health and arthritis. And in men it may raise there testosterone just a little bit and lower there estrogen some. Well I started taking some about 3 weeks ago and a chronic case of tendinitis I have had has cleared up. I tend to get tendinitis verry easily just doing 1 or 2 sets of barbell curls will give me a mild reaction that takes 2 to 3 weeks to clear up. But almost 2 weeks a go I started back exercising and no longer seem prone to tendonitis.
