Probiotics?

What's the general consensus? What have been your experiences with probiotics?

My son took them for a few months after he was born because I was unable to breast feed so he was eating formula. I find when he's taking probiotics he has normal bowel movements but even now that he's 2 he still gets constipated when he's not taking them.

I really want to take them for myself as well because I have all kinds of gut issues but I just can't seem to remember to take the ones I've got. I also am not really sure what to buy, are the ones I have any good who knows?

I need to find a good one that is relatively inexpensive and how many billion are we suppose to have?? I am so confused. Since I stopped taking it, my stomach is so big. Something must have been working, but I wonder if I can get one that is reasonable in cost with same effect.

Any thoughts??

Before I started low carb my Doctor suggested them. ( recurring yeast infection ) They really helped. I too kthem for about a year and then I started getting really gassy and now only take them intermittently.

I take them twice a day to keep Colitis under control. Iíve been on some really expensive, refrigerated ones that didnít work as well as the Digestive Pearls. I get a big box cheap from Amazon but you can find them just about anywhere.

As with most supplements I always start cheap first to see how they do. Guts are so funny, what works for some doesnít seem to work for others.

Is Digestive Pearls the brand name? Or just the type of probiotic? I saw several that used the word pearl on the box.
