I just ordered Raspberry keytones off Amazon this morning and they said I should get it tomorrow because of the Prime. I'm also taking artichoke supplements which are really powerful appetite suppressants. So, I'm hoping the two will give me an added boost for losing weight.

Mine has 275 and I take one in the a.m...The Dr. Oz lady said to take 100 in the a.m. and if you need another 100, take it at noon.

The ones I have are 247mg, which is over the recommended dosage of 1-200 mg so I just take one first thing in the morning.

I am stalled at 190 but not surprised and its better than gaining so I will just keep taking it and I cleaned up my diet so that should help. Waiting on my new pole, so workouts are going to be hardcore and I really hope I don't gain scale weight because of it!

The appetite suppressing part has not worked for me for the ketones or artichoke extract. Boo hoo! I think I am a lost cause when it comes to turning off the appetite!

Google Dr. Oz and Raspberry Ketones and there is an explanation from his show..
It is supposed to shrink the fat cells..

As far as appetite control..a LC plan is the best plan.

I did, and I can't find any reference to appetite at all except on a page saying that Thermogenesis can aid in reducing appetite, but not claiming that the ketones themselves result in reduced appetite.

It's all about "fat busting" and increasing metabolism via increase the secretion of adiponectin, but nothing about appetitie
...
and this...

Quote:
aspberry ketone is a natural enzyme known as a phenolic compound, or natural organic compound designed and shown to prevent elevations of high-fat-diet-induced reactions in body weight. Ketones are responsible for the aroma and sweet smell raspberries have always been associated with. This phenomena gives raspberry ketones the tendency and reputation as an appetite suppressant particularly because of the loaded digestive enzymes organic red raspberries contain.
What does that even mean? Prevent High Fat induced Reactions? Which reactions? Loaded digestive Enzymes? This page was a bunch of mumbo jumbo as far as I'm concerned.

In one person's anecdote, their appetite was increased, but easily satisfied. Another said it was suppressed, but I can't find any products claiming that appetite suppression is one of it's actions.

Yes it is suppose to shrink the fat cells. I watched the show and saw the great demonstration. I was also reading an article saying it also had benefits of being an appetite suppressant and Redeemed said "I'm also taking artichoke supplements which are really powerful appetite suppressants."

One of the nutrition companies calls them:

Raspberry Ketone Suppress (Appetite Control Pills)

Some also state:

* Raspberry ketones promotes the creation of adiponectic to help control the levels of fat in the body.
* Raspberry ketones is 100% natural
* Raspberry Ketones helps suppress appetite

This is what another article said:

On February 6, 2012, Dr. Oz did a show featuring raspberry ketones (RK) as the number 1 solution to fat burning. He called it the “miracle in a bottle to burn your fat”.

According to Dr. Oz, raspberry ketones, help the body burn fat easier. Of course, they’re natural and nutrient dense product derived from raspberries. Just how dense are the raspberry ketones? According to Dr. Oz’s show, we’d have to eat 90 pounds of the raw raspberry to equal the proper amount of one capsule.

Here are some more info on Raspberry Ketones (RK):

Raspberry Ketones are known less commonly as Rheosmin and Rasketone. Raspberry Ketones are found in red raspberries, and are the constituent primarily responsible for the odor of raspberries. Raspberry Ketones are either extracted from red raspberries or made synthetically, and are used as a food additive for their fruity odor. Raspberry Ketone is a natural phenolic compound that is responsible for the wonderful aroma of red raspberries.

Raspberry Ketones Block Fat – by encouraging the body to use fat instead of storing it. The molecular structure of RK is similar to capsaicin and synephrine, which are thermogenic. Research showed that RK prevented from obesity and an increase in blood triglyceride in mice even when the animals were on a high-fat diet.

Raspberries Contain Significant Amounts of Polyphenol Antioxidants – which are linked to promoting endothelial and cardiovascular health. This fruit ranks near the top of all fruits for antioxidant strength due to their high contents of ellagic acid (from ellagotannins), quercetin, gallic acid, anthocyanins, cyanidins, pelargonidins, catechins, kaempferol and salicylic acid.

Raspberry Ketones Help Suppress Appetite and aid in the breakdown of fat molecules to be used for fat metabolism. RKs offer lots of fiber and antioxidants with very few calories, making them very “dense” nutritionally. Raspberry ketones help the efficiency of your metabolism by increasing the body’s core temperature and in so doing increasing the body’s fat burning abilities.Raspberry ketones encourage hormones that metabolize fats for energy.

Raspberry Ketones Encourage Hormones That Metabolize Fats For Energy – These hormones have direct influence on glucose levels by lowering them, allowing it to be converted into energy.

Raspberry Ketones are also an excellent source of vitamin A, B vitamins 1-3, iron, calcium, potassium, vitamin C, manganese, vitamin K and magnesium.
Raspberry ketones help prevent and improve many health conditions, including sugar overload, cellulite, skin looseness and fluid retention

I wasn't taking either supplement for that purpose. I bought the ketones as a fat buster -upper and I take the artichoke supplements for digestive purposes. But I thought it would be cool for me if they also worked to suppress appetite.

I have been LC for years and years, but I always have an appetite. Hopefully I will see the fat busting occur. I've been on it a few weeks, but I only weigh monthly. Fingers are crossed.

Thanks Sungoddess!

only part of that info I take issue with is this statement
Quote:
prevented from obesity and an increase in blood triglyceride in mice even when the animals were on a high-fat diet.
only because a high fat diet does NOT increase triglycerides, but a High Carb Diet does. So if they were feeding the rats high carb and high fat at the same time, it would be impressive that their trigs did not rise, but not if they were only a high fat diet. Makes me wonder if they researchers were looking at the right things if they thought a high fat diet would increase the rats trigs.

MSN08 was eating both carbs and Fats and she lost, now THAT'S impressive!

Okay, so since they don't directly say how it reduces appetite, I have to assume that the increase in adiponectic that helps regulate fat, and therefore, the increase in metablism both indirectly should lead to appetite suppression because they would cause an increase in lypolysis (fat burning) which tends to have the effect of appetite suppression....

This is very informative and I want to learn more about the pros, cons, claims, effects and results. I want to know why it does and on what it works and how it's supposed to work. I wish they'd do a study on humans.

I have had a major blood pressure spike since taking the raspberry keytones. So, I need to go off and see if this is the problem. My BP has been under control with my JUDDD diet alone, so it must be these supplements causing the spike.
