How much magnessium should I be taking?

To help with constipation?

I have been taking 400mgs magnesium w/ chelated zinc. That was helping to me to go daily. But over the last few weeks I have been having trouble again. Do I need to be taking more? Is this something that your body adjusts to and need to be continually increased?

i was taking up to 1500..which is safe...currently takig 400 x2 in divided doses...maybe double it and see what happens...mag is very safe and 'clean'

400mgs of magnesium taken before bed, cruciferous vegetables, cabbage, steamed broccoli, califlower, along with drinking water throughout the day, works for me.
