Evening Primrose Oil GLA
After reading about GLA, I have decided to take evening primrose oil instead of borage oil. Apparently, even though the dosage is different, EPO is used better or the GLA is converted// used differently and one does not need as much. I don't know....
HOWEVER....How much IS needed for it to work for weight loss. And what do these ingredients mean? I bought 500 mg...bottle says 3 x day. Label: Evening Primrose 500 mg Linoleic acid 375 mg GLA 45 mg Oleic Acid 35 mg OK...so what does this mean? Anyone else hear about this. I tried |

huh. I am not an expert at this at all, but I thought they were different stuff and we need both? I take evening primrose and I keep meaning to get the borage too. it's not necessary? I seem to recall that in the Eades' 6-Week Cure for the Middle Age Middle that they promote borage pretty strongly.

EPO is great for the hot flashes/night sweats, but I haven't noticed any weight loss effect from it. I take 1300mg 1x daily.
It does, however, help everyone else around me to survive. |

Funny but the girl who does my hair & I both started taking EPA for hot flashes. Neither one of us saw an improvement w/ the that but both of us noted more luminous skin. that alone is worth it

I was reading a thread here a few months ago and someone was complaining of cystic acne (which I have too). Fawn popped in and recommended EPO. I started taking 1000 mgs per day and it has cleared up. If I feel one coming on, I will take it several times a day and it will go back down.
Fabulous stuff! |

I take 2000mg EPO per day and have not noticed any weight loss effect from it at all. I've taken 1000mg/d for years and increased to 2000mg/d a few months ago. My joints feel better, but no weight change due to it.
I do not know if it helps with hot flashes or not. Sometimes I think it does, but other times I wonder. It helps my joints, so I take it. |

I started taking it about a week ago and have been wondering if it's really doing anything, but now that it's been mentioned, the past few days I've noticed my skin looks amazing! I take 2/day. Can't remember the dosage right now...
