Well, it's been 3 days, and I know that it takes longer to see results, but my curiosity is overwhelming. I am UP almost 3lbs since then! It's the only thing i've done different, so I'm wondering if this means i'm starting to get lean muscle mass? I took measurements, but there's no change as of yet. I wish i had a body fat measurement tool, i have one on my scale, but i'm "out of range" for it to even register, go figure. CLA/GLA is certainly doing SOMETHING....i'll keep it up for a few weeks, and we'll see

Amy I don't want to be a downer, but there's no way you gained 3lbs of muscle in 3 days. It takes weeks and weeks of working out to develop that kind of muscle increase.
My experience with cla was not good, I also gained on it and (I assume) it was water retention because it came back off as soon as I stopped taking it. Here's a quote from eHow: Quote:

water makes it all confusing lol |

I have had very good results with the cla/gla combo in conjunction with watching my cal/fat intake. I see it strictly in inches lost rather quickly in the waist/belly area not so much in scale weight. I will say though that it seems to work best when I cycle on and off of it as it stops working after a few weeks. Also, I often use the Hollywood Safflower oil instead of the CLA capsules.

Going to be starting back on this combo, I have been off low carb for a few months and need to buy some more CLA/GLA. It does work, I've used it on and off for years! This'll help kick my butt into gear and look to see what I have and what I need to buy

According to their website, it will take a minimum of 3 months before you begin to see any results, with the best results occurring in the 4th month...

So, $180 to maybe see 6% reduction in belly fat after 3 months.... kinda expensive in my opinion. |

I agree very expensive, but I have heard the same thing about the cla taking several weeks to work while in my my experience the combo works almost immediately, but then stops working after a few weeks. Total opposite of what I have read. I bought some of the saflsim and like that it is a liquid. I got a good price on it since I had a coupon. Right now I am using a small amount of it about 1tsp. a day along with the cla capsules I have. My diet has been pretty bad so I can't comment on effectiveness but am back on track now and will report how it goes.

I hope that taking only 1/6th of the recommended dose has some effect. I've always been afraid of the idea that taking less than the recommended dose would not cause any effect and therefore all the doses are not efficient at all. I've seen that idea for lots of things and wonder how true it is. But then again you are taking it as part of combo, so you may have a bonus right there....

Cmachk, the borage oil contains GLA, so it's not something you buy separately from GLA

Metqa! Good seeing you are still around! I am glad the thread came back to life. Last time I looked, it was quiet. I got away from GLA/CLA, as my body no longer responded well. I am now living on Eat to Live. I do still take borage oil and DHA-EPA.
Seen any of the "old" crowd around? |

I stopped when I couldn't find the liquid anymore. I can't take that many pills and it seemed to be no longer effective....
