I did that for a time...chugged some safflower oil when I ran out of $$ for CLA capsules. I don't know if the amount of CLA is the same or not though, I never researched. I'm just getting back into the groove again though so have been taking CLA and GLA capsules. Wish I could find the liquid CLA but as far as I can tell, nobody sells it anymore and it's been discontinued

Does anybody else feel a little quesy after taking all this stuff? I think I might be taking too many vitamins, I must go back and reread about taking all this stuff, I feel like I am stuffing down a vitamin constantly, don't know if it is helping with the weight loss, but the skin benefit is there for sure

I make sure to take it after I eat, otherwise I do feel yuck. I just stuff them all down after dinner and have been drinking some warm tea after.

Over time I'm finding it harder to get pills down, when in the past it was no big deal. That's why the liquid was such a boon for me. *sigh

I still have some CLA liquid, a little bit, and the capsules. I tried emptying the capsules for the oil inside and it gave my throat a rash. Never figured THAT out.

Help with cla/gla

Hello all. I've been reading all your posts and it's very interesting. I want to try the combo but am so confused by all the different amounts and times people take it. Does this sound right? And can I buy both at Walmart? What are the best times to take them? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

GLA should be taken with food

Most effective daily dose...
CLA 3400 mg (1/2 Tbsp liquid once a day, or 5 Tonalin or Spring Valley
capsules)
GLA 500-1000 mg (2-4 Borage Oil caps a day)

Hi,

You can buy both at Walmart, but I personally prefer to get them online either at Netrition or sometimes Amazon as I like my prime membership for free shipping. Some people may space them out throughout the day, but I've always just taken mine all at once to get it over with, after dinner and just took mine actually. You will have to look at your bottles to make sure you're taking the right amount of pills, as there are small and large Borage oil pills, and then I think CLA pills can vary in amounts as well so just make sure you're taking the proper dosage.

I just started on the combo yesterday. I measured my waist & belly so I can see if it's working. If it works I will definitely buy the liquid CLA next time, I just counted and I'm now taking 15 pills a day! Borage Oil, CLA, Omega 3/D3, multi-vitamin, Biotin, and my BP meds. I space them out-morning, mid-afternoon & evening, but that's still a lot of pills.

I don't think anyone offers the liquid CLA anymore. the product was discontinued from all the stores that used to sell it. It has been discontinued by the Manufacturer so it's gone for good.

I took the combo when I first started and I exercised and lift weights and it gave me great definition in my arm, legs, and i could start to see my abs. I don't remember why I stoped or for that reason I don't know why I stop lcing but I am back and I am doing the combo again. It does have other benefits also so I can't lose.

Hi kj
I just started the combo again yesterday. I really felt in the past that it helped me lose abdominal fat more easily. It seems that it works great for a few weeks and then stops though.

WOE: LC/HF, for now
I've bought a new supply of both supplements and plan to start a new round of it next week. As much weight as I've lost in the last six months, I really need some help getting it redistributed, so I'll try anything that might help. I'm taking MSM and dry-brushing, too.

Ok so I decided to jump in! I bought the Spring Valley brand of CLA, but the only thing I could find for GLS was Evening Primrose Oil (hopefully this will help with some female issues too). Wish me luck!

Hey!

Is there a brand of LIQUID CLA/GLA combo that has been recommended? I looked on the netrition site and saw that the one that people had been recommending is not being produced any longer.

Is there a brand you could share with me that would help?

Also, I am using the softgel CLA capsules-- 2000mg each. Do you know what the recommended daily intake is? Is it 6000mg?

Thanks in advance,
Eric

No one produces any liquid CLA anymore. I don't take the combo anymore because I couldn't take all the pills and the liquid was the best way, but ....

as far as dose, I no longer recall, but at the beginning of this thread I'm sure there was a Info post with those details, go back to post one and check that out.

I've been looking around, and it says you'll want to take at least 3.4 grams (or 3400mg) of CLA. You'll have to look at your pill's label to see what % of the total is actually CLA. The one I have is 80%, and they're 1000mg each, so I'd have to take between 4-5 pills to get all the CLA i need. If yours is 2000mg each at 80%, you'd have to take 2-3. With GLA, i don't remember exactly, but i'm taking 2 capsules a day so far, but i hear others taking more.
