LOL!!!!!! Guess I'm one step closer then. I have plenty of time to do research on trucks so I hope it is a good one. It will be.

Those silly things just creep me out! My sister in law gave me one for Christmas many years ago.....I hated them then. As soon as I got to the car I destroyed it. It was in many pieces when I got done with it then tossed it out the window. My boys will find the stupid things around Christmas time and bring them to me. just shivered again. LOL I can't help it. I'll take a spider or a snake anyday!

I just got the old van up and running.....it's road worthy now. I'll be driving it for awhile. At least untill the quest for the perfect truck ends.

Hi jessielee, nice to meet you! With 2 little boys in Martial Arts and T-Ball, I am one busy mutha these days! I check in here every so often when I can. It's nice to see new subscribers.

Another reason I have kinda been absent is for the fact that I have been cheating big time on LCing! As of Jan 1, I have turned Vegan. I did it to try to detox my body and during the process I have lost a GANG of weight. My skin is glowing and I don't know what to say other than something seems to be finally balancing out. Who knows, I may have been getting too much of a good thing with all the protein I was ingesting and not enough of the good carbs every body needs. I feel so much better and I'm not freakin hungry all the time!

During this time's skipping thru the posts, I noticed someone was asking about the CO. Yes, I still take it. Unrefined Virgin CO. I take it in the morning with my morning tea. It cleans out my system and heats up my metabolism. To get the weight loss moving, I would take it 3 times a day, about a tablespoon with food and the supp that I was taking it with was Acetyl L-Carnatine. I saw great results with that combo. Just seems like the CLA/GLA stopped working for me for some reason.

Anyhow, welcome to all the new peeps! And a big hello to all my buddies here. You know who YOU are!

Chic

Chic....You vegan. Me hunter. We're going to get along GREAT! LOL

Actually, my niece has gone vegetarian because she was getting sick from eating somethings. She cut out different things and finally found out that going vegetarian worked great for her. She says that she feels good and she really looks great too! Glad to hear that Vegan is working for you Chic!

Phil.....
I have nothing against anyone hunting and I definately realize I can't save the world on my own by not eating animals, so.................we can still get along! I just realize that my body was needing more nutrients than I was giving it while LCing. My own fault for not eating more veggies. Now I just eat MORE foods that grow from the earth that have been left to their most natural state and am supplementing less. God's food, YEAH!

I'm glad to hear that you are okay from your accident! Wow, please try to be more careful out there in the snow. Seems like it's snowing everywhere but here in sunny C!

Can't wait to get the kids down for the night. I have some serious TV viewing tonight. Where's the popcorn?! (just kiddin)

jessielee - Im about six weeks in with induction and on my second round of CLA/GLA - and I posted first month photos... but it seems like in the last week... I feel and see results in my upper stomach - like muscles are forming under the fat.... but you can still see the distinction... The first month was like this too... the first few days on the combo I felt things changing on my body... and then the beginning of taking the combo again ... I feel the same thing... Im not sure why it is important to take a break - but I did and will continue to ... think it might have something to do with your body getting used to having that in your system and then adjusting to it.... ANY ONE KNOW THE REAL REASON?

CHIC - would you share with us what you enjoy in a day on your VEGAN WOE? I could see moving in that direction once I start to add more carbs... but the breads and starches I think Id try to stay away from still...

Happy Valentines Day to everyone tomorrow!~

If anyone is interested - there are quite a few videos on Youtube discussing CLA and its benefits. Scientific backgrounds and peoples opinions on which brand names give you the best quality. I might be a bit of a geek - I find this information fascinating and enjoy learning more things... the more I learn the more I see what I need to do.

@jessielee I buy the unrefined Spectrum brand at my local health food store. You can also order it on line if you can't find it in your city/town. I didn't really take it with the CLA combo because it was just too much stuff take! I just took it with the Acetyl-Carnatine and found mega results. Something I always emphasize, exercise boosts any diet when it comes to fat loss.

@babycricketgirl Today went like this.

Breakfast: Bowl of oatmeal (not instant) with almonds and frozen berries.

Lunch: Half of a sweet potato and a salad made up of kale, avocado, leeks, and tomato with a simple dressing of olive oil, pressed garlic, sea salt, lime and a dash of Cayenne pepper! SO DANG GOOD!

Snack: Pumpkin seeds

Dinner: Two tacos made with vegan ground "beef" tomatoes, cilantro, onions, vegan cheese, a squeeze of lime and hot sauce.

The interesting thing about eating Vegan is, I seem to be eating the same amounts of food that I was before but now I'm losing weight. I eat until I'm full. I think it's the animal substitutions that's doing the trick. That and doing my best to stay away from processed foods and white sugars. I just try to eat natural and whole foods that come from the earth, preferably organic. I also end all my meals with a cup of Green Tea. When I was working as a flight attendant on my trips to Japan, I noticed that all the slender Japanese people would ask for this tea after their meals.

@Phil
It's soy protein. It has a texture that looks and feels like ground beef. Taste wise, it's very close. As a ground beef substitute, it has almost no fat, no cholesterol and less than half the calories of an equivalent amount of ground beef. My sons had no clue it wasn't the real thing! And I sure didn't tell them....

thanks baby cricket.. and thanks chic. ill look into both of those.. now onto the results for the week...just to reiterate i started a month ago on just watcheing my food intake.. i started at 297. in three weeks i lost 5 pounds. on monday i started induction at 292. so today is week one of combo and induction. i cheated a little this weekend but here are the results...weight is 287 another 5 pounds.. in just a week !!! and measurement are..

start 2-8 now2-15
belly 57" 56"
waist 53" 51"
pouch 58" 57 1/2

so that is 5 pounds lost this week and a total of 3 1/2 inches..woo hoo. im happy. this week i hope to be a bit better cause i am gonna stick to diet 100%. i am also going to fit in some exercise. i hate exercise. i am going to do eliptical step aerobic, tae bo and some weight training..also i got my new toy last night.. the wii fit plus with board...sooo excited. my husband , son and i all set up our profiles last night..the weight is pretty accurate on that..i was over obese and when it gave me my bmi a big ol fat belly just fell on my miis waist.. it was pretty funny but also made me want to cry. lol but ill live. also it gives you your wii age..ok im 26 and that thing said i was 37!!! a big wake up.. ok well enough about me lets here some more results...yes trisha im calling you out. ok well ttyall good luck

Hi everyone, I was on this site last year, and just kinda tried my own stuff for a while while focusing on marathons. I've switched from trying to be really skinny to trying to get big, and I was just curious if anyone has ever tried gaining weight using CLA. I've been doing P90X for about 45 days, and while my pull-ups have increased dramatically, I'm not any bigger. I've been eating about 3000 calories a day, but was curious if taking CLA would allow me to keep my abs lean while adding muscle if I were to eat like 4000.

I am so interested in the CLA/GLA combo, but I have to admit that I am sooo confused on how much I should be taking of each of these. Are you guys basing your doses on your weight? I want to start on this asap, but I don't know how much of each I should be taking thanks! (btw, if it helps- my weight is 260 lbs.)

Thanks.

That. It is providing 24% borage oil per capsule so to get your total you have to do the math as I bolded you said.

That. You can ask netrition to send you an email when the product comes back in stock, but you can also search for it if you can't wait.

Weight & Dosage Size

Okay Im no expert and actually a peep here... but somewhere along the way I read that the research and minimum dosage suggestion was based on men that weighed an average weight. So I've decided to do a dose that is about 150% the suggested minimum. We'll see how it goes... and if my pocketbook can stand the cost! lol

One thing I noticed when I took a break from the combo was my 40 minute elliptical workout was a bit more challenging... not sure if it is in my head or actually true...

But down a size in pants... I'll be back for another...

Youtube had some interesting videos on CLA. There is alot of support for this amazing supplement!

Welcome back to all the former combo'ers .

chic, I bought a couple packs of veggie burgers to try. Since I don't do so well on strictly low carb, I'm just going to try to eat cleaner and get on that treadmill. I got some stevia packets so I can get off the splenda and see how that works. A lady where I get my hair done is a Nutritionist and thats what she said to do. She said splenda is evil lol and does something to your brain . So thats my plan for now, plus the combo. She also said take B-complex every day. There is a liquid vitamin they all take there I need to get also. Hope I can stay motivated this time

Phil, good to see you back. Glad you didnt get hurt in that wreck. I thought you would like the nutcrackers lol. I think about you everytime I see one now LOL

There has been alot of people taking this that said they could workout longer. Glad to see it confirmed again

I want to start on this asap, but I don't know how much of each I should be taking thanks! (btw, if it helps- my weight is 260 lbs.)

Thanks.
You should be taking 3400mg of cla and 500-1000mg of gla (borage oil). start with the lower dose of gla and add more if needed
welcome to the thread

Trisha....Let me know how you like those veggie burgers. Personally I can't stand them! I'd much rather grab a portabella mushroom, brush on a lil olive oil, sprinkle with seasons and grill that sucker like I would a real burger. It seriously tastes like steak (to me)! I tried some soy bratts and didn't care for those either. I'm just experimenting right now so it's been interesting. I have to say, I'm dropping weight like crazy though! My body likes this WOE.

Good day!
