Glucosamine????

Ive had Knee problems for the past 3 years and have been told (by the 3rd) orthapedic surg that there is no operation to fix them (both knees!). I can only stand or walk for short periods at a time so any form of exercise is a no no. So my question is , is it ok to have Glucosamine on a low carb/sugar free diet as thats the only way I can keep my weight down. I dont really need to loose any more I just dont want to put any on because I cant exercise it off. Does it contain glucose or is it sugar based?. Im hoping it my give me some relief. Any help would be wonderful!!!!!!

I take it myself for back problems and it really helps. I tend to lose weight slow regardless of whether or not I'm taking my supplements, and I feel better when I'm taking supplements.

Make sure you get the triple strength so that you only need to take 2 pills per day - that will cut down on the amount of "filler" that you consume.

I switched from glucosamine to Celadrin in SoftGel form. There is a topical that I have not tried. I started to feel less pain in just one week and my weight loss has not been affected.

Thanks both for your response! Good advice on the true strength, i always check the dosage on all supplements because alot of them require you taking 2 or 3 times more tablets at a higher cost.

For sure!

Also, I find that Giant (don't know if you have one near you) frequently has various brands of glucosamine on sale buy 1 get 1 free ~ since it's pricey, look for sales.
