Fawn (and anyone else)- Is this a good vitapak to take?

GNC Women's Ultra MegaŽ Wellness Program

I struggle with anxiety and off and on depression, which is why I chose the mood formula. Is this a good thing to take, or would it be better to take other vitamins? I need advice, I have no idea what I am doing!

I also want to add that i have been feeling strange lately-like I am not getting enough nutrients (i do not take any vitamins ATM)...i keep feeling sort of like I am going to pass out if I haven't eaten...and this should not be happening. I never remember feeling like this before LCing, so i am wondering if there is a certain vitamin I am deficient in right now. And I don't have med insurance (just got dropped cuz of my hours at work)...so idk what to do.

Hey Nicole
Sounds like your blood sugar is out of whack. I couldn't find the actual source ingredients on the vitamins you listed. But it looks like the formula that you are looking for as far as mood support. I prefer seperate supplements hand chosen ie: the fish oil.....is it guaranteed to be free of contaminants? Are we sure of the freshness? The source?

Have you been on plan consistenly? What are you eating? Congrats on your quit date of smoking by the way!

I was actually thinking of just taking fish oil in itself. Would that be ok? I do not know the source of the fish oil in the gnc vits...what brand and mg of fish oil do you recommend?

I have to admit, no I haven't been very strict lately with being on plan. I guess that could be the reason. But why would I have blood sugar issues now, and not when I wasn't LCing? I guess I just need to get strict again and stay away from the crap.

What is your average daily diet these days?

I've been doing a great deal of research recently on Spirulina Nicole and I think with 1500mg. of spirulina, and a tbs. of Cod Liver Oil and vitamin D3 daily you should be well on your way to a very nice supplementation regimen. Both will also help with mood. Try this first, stay on plan, see how this affects your moods and maybe there after an amino acid supplementation might be necessary. Diving in to a "blanket supplementation" regimen won't tell us what might be working for you. Are you clinically diagnosed for a mood disorder or do you think an omega 3 fatty acid deficiency could be the cause?

Yes, I am going to try what you said first...stick to plan and see how things improve (or do not improve). I was never diagnosed with a mood disorder by a psychiatrist or anything. But I have told the dr. that I believe I do have depression/anxiety and have taken anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications in the past. So it's never been officially diagnosed, I just think I have it. So it could quite possibly be that it is an omega 3 fatty acid dificiency. That is what fish oil is, right? Or is that Omega 6?

Thanks so much for your help.

fish oil is your omega 3 source Nicole. Again, I can't stress enough the value of Cod Liver Oil. If I could choose only one for a lifetime, this would be it.

The spirulina from my research is awesome as a multi replacement.
