Looking for a good supplement routine
Hi! I've been on Atkins for a couple of months and I'm interested in stepping up my supplement routine. Can you share your supplement schedule along with how much and why you use them? This is where I am at now. I would love any recommendations if you see something missing. Thank you.
calcium twice a day (bone health) flax seed oil three times a day (omega 3) probiotics once a day (digestive health) cod liver oil three times a day (acne treatment) multi-vitamin once a day (overall health) magnesium/zinc three times a day (digestive regularity)

Jo - Do you like the horsechestnut? I just started taking it after a small patch of spider veins appeared on my calf. It was recommended on the WAPF website. Im not sure what the other stuff is you have listed for vein issues is. I have noticed that it is helping with circulation (swelling) in my legs/ankles though and that is worth a million bucks to me. My routine is basic: prenatal multi 1x day (going to TTC in the fall) CLO 1TBS day L-Glutamine 500mg day horsechestnut 2x day (new!) |

I started horsechestnut, natikinasse & biorutin all at the same time and noticed a difference within a few days! I will never be without these 3 supplements!
That being said, I don't know which supplement created the results - my guess is that it was the horsechestnut since the natikinasse, I believe is a blood thinner & the bio-rutin is to help in vein strength. |

Jenn,
acetyl l-carnitine chromium alpha lipoic acid coenzyme q-10 Check these online and see if you think they are for you. There's some disagreement about what determines a therapeutic dose, so do some checking about that. I think when I was taking 1500mg/day of carnitine, it did not make a difference. But at 3x that dose...I do believe it is helping with my metabolism issues. Keep us posted and good luck. --Bill |

I used to take gobs of things and then I decided that A. it was too expensive and B. it was just to much
So I narrowed my list to a few that were hard to get in a normal diet: cod liver oil 4-6 caps daily primrose oil 2-4 caps daily nutritional yeast 1/2 tbs daily dolomite powder 1/2-1 tsp daily (I don't eat dairy) If I can find an affordable whole foods multi I will take that, but for now they just cost too much. |

Jenn, be sure to check out their drug interactions. I know there were some (not sure for which supplement - probably the nattokinase since it is a blood thinner), but I don't take any other kinds of medication so I didn't pay too much attention to the interactions.
