Kim, I have no idea what I was thinking in that pic .

well we went to the casino and got there around 9:30pm. We got home this morning around 6am . We won and lost and won and lost and played for a long time before we finally lost what we went with and headed home. We had fun and got mom out of the house and thats what matters. She really enjoys the casinos. Shes 78 and I dont know how much longer she will be with us, so I wanna spend as much time with her while we can and shes still healthy enough to get out and do stuff. We are taking her to our anual aniversary trip to tennessee from Sept 12-18. We found a new log cabin resort right outside of Pigeon Forge call Little Valley Mountain Resort, we are going to try. They have 2 pools, a 3-par golf course, hiking trails, 4 fishing lakes (will make Tom happy), and an 18 hole putt putt course right there at the resort. We wont even have to leave there if we dont want to fight the crowds. We are going to eat at "The Mill" one night. I LOVE that place with their corn fritters Yummmm !!! My 2 BFF's (<---) are getting married that weekend and they got a honeymoon cabin there too. There is also a chapel right there on the resort they will get married in. We are going to stay in Cherokee for 3 days first (1 casino night), and try some hiking on that end. Mom will be watching out for bears I am sure lol. We have to stick with the easier trails now, since mom tires more easily than she used to, but we are out of shape too and probably couldn't handle the ones we used to anyway. We can tell mom we are taking the easy trails for "her" to save face . I hope the foilage is at least partially colored that early. we usually go the last week in oct, but going early for the wedding. I'll take lots of pics . I feel so blessed that my mom is healthy and able to do stuff like that with us....and wants to !!!

Aw the sweetest thing just happened. . .

My Nephew, who just started college, rang me just to say "Hi!"

:blush: My family hardly ever calls me. My sister once or twice, my neice once, my other niece once ( to ask for something) but my Nephew just wanted to say hi and he said he wanted to call me more often. He parted with a "I love you" . That's so SWEET!

I'm not quite sure. . . I was supposed to cook ribs today, but the empty vienna sausage tin in front of me screams the awful truth of my level of motivation thus far. . .

We had a pretty quiet weekend. Chrissy spent the weekend with Treva and they drove the horse carriages and then went to the WEBN fireworks on the river. We got bored sitting home so went to see "The Final Destination" movie. It had lots of blood & gore and a very naughty sex scene. Some dude behind us brought 2 kids and one was only 7 !! When they did the sex scene, one of the kids said "wow, cool" and started laughing. I dont think kids should have been allowed in even with the parents for something like that

OK, this is getting rediculous. Remember the one little black fuzzy kitten I rescued about 2 years ago? This is what thats turned in to

We have got to get rid of them, they keep breeding !! I dont want to call the animal shelter cuz they kill them, but dang we cant have all these cats here !! There are about 8 adult strays and 2 new litters of 3 each now. I dont know what to do about them. Fuzzball is the only one I want here but I dont want anything bad to happen to the others . The neighbor caught one of them swimming in their pool today !! They are not happy about all the cats either. They use our mulch for litter boxes , and are killing everyones flowers !!

I color my own hair. Now see... I love long hair, but, mine is so coarse and has so much natural curl in it. it just always looks frizzy long.

I really like yours long. Looks good in the pic too. But I know the up keep is costly.

Is there a TNR (Trap Neuter Release)Program in your neighborhood? Those kittens look young enough to be socialized if they could be caught. Any no kill shelters around?

Unfortunately not around here anywhere. We live in the boonies. I'm going to see if I can find a cat rescue place anywhere close and maybe they will know somewhere to take them

Back from Vegas! Happy to say we did really well. For me, craps is the only way to go. Nothing like starting with $50 and turning it into $500!!! It was great seeing family too.

Kimlou....I'm allergic to cats too. I found out this weekend that I'm allergic to down comforters as well! Slept good until I woke up, then my nose drained and I sneezed for about 2 minutes straight! Not fun.

Mikki....We are going camping/fishing next month. I'm so excited to take in the mountains in Northern Cal!

Okay so yesterday I was feeling really crappy. Not just physical, but in my head. I went to bed feeling like Everybody got the rule book to the game but me.

This morning I had to go out, to turn in some papers for work. Then I decided to buy some new toys for the beast, Returned unwanted items for refunds, and wash BF's Car and fill it with gas, (he let me borrow it while he was out of town and my car is in the shop to the tune of $300. One of the many reasons for my funk) I secretly got his lights fixed and new terminals on his batteries which were causing the light trouble. but my car is still not ready.

On the way home I stopped by the DOL to chat with an employee.

During the chat, she*1) told me that even though I'm not unemployed, I could apply for benefits since I have gotten No hours of work and my second job is on break so I have no income. I was surprised, but glad I stopped by. She also gave me some books to help me revise my sad and tired resume.

In Kroger, I was buying grocery staples, and *2) an unknown young lady passed me and said "You are very pretty." I was stunned and spun around, literally. I'm usually the one to pass a complement to a stranger (usually another female), it was a shock to receive one like that. We laughed as I realize how I must make some folks feel with unsolicited complements. It made my day and I thanked her.

At the check out I was still beaming from the complement and bantering with the help about packing groceries. I mentioned how my yogurt had been punctured once, and *3) she told me to take the one I was buying for free.

Well, I can't say how much all of those things sparkled my day.
I'm feeling better, even if things aren't really better, but feelings have a lot of power.

Now I just need to keep feeling happy while I figure out where the beast hid that chicken wing I gave him for lunch . . .turn my back for a second and voosh! little monster!

Lurker here...do any of you that take the supplements notice you bruise more easily on them? I know that borage oil increases blood flow and have had it happen the last times I used, just wasn't sure if others were experiencing the same. With having young kids that like to throw tantrums, I'm looking pretty bruised up right now, lol.
