If you're referring to Adipex aka phentermine....I would highly NOT recommend it.
Do a search because there was a long discussion thread about it a couple months ago. If it's something else, sorry I don't know ![]() |

Phentermine is one of the prescription drugs that my weight loss doctor recommends for people who want to use one. I chose to take Phendimetrzine which is the other one she offers. The reason I chose that one is that I have much more control over the dosage. Phentermine is one pill taken once a day. I guess you could break it in half or something? With Phendimetrazine you can take up to 6 pills a day. I have more control that way. Most days I take 2-3 pills. Sometimes more, sometimes less depending on what is going on that day.
I was concerned about the side effects and was worried about being too jittery so I felt more comfortable knowing that I could take less. I haven't had any problems. I know that some of the side effects are things like dry mouth and anxiety but I haven't experienced those or any other problems. FWIW, I am doing this under my doctor's care and I see either her or the nurse once a week. Angie |

I've been taking Phen for a couple of months. The first few days I felt anxiety but then it started giving me a burst of energy and really curbed my appetite. I'm one of those that even though I'm doing Atkins correctly I still feel hungry all the time. I'm hoping the Phen will give me a jump start. So far so good.
Note to self.....Prepare to get slammed for for needing some outside help. Tatooed, Let me know how it continues to help you. There is a forum for phen users but most of them are against low carb so I don't go there very often but it might help you out with some things.

I also take phendimetrazine 35mg 3 times daily and I am on a doctor supervised diet. I have been on it for 16 weeks and have not had any issues. Initially I did have terrible dry mouth but that is not a problem now, I do drink over a gallon of water a day. Also, don't take it to late in the day, as you will have a hard time sleeping.
Good luck with your research and let us know what you decide! |

I started it on April 4th and have lost 41 1/2lbs! For me it has been a life saver. It has totally changed the way I view food. I don't think about it (or should I say obsess) I eat when I'm hungry and I eat LC. I drink a lot of water and tea. I think that if you are taking it under the care of your DR. and you really have a good mind set to stick with it, then I say go for it!

I cannot take it. It sends me into a total tailspin. I have a bottle of it prescribed to me by a doctor at a weightloss clinic I went to.
