I love the dollar theatre. It's the best value, even worth the wait. I don't have to see it New Release, and I save $6 off the regular theatre.

When it gets warmer they will start charge per adult, I think it is $8 per adult and a few dollars for kids over a certain age (maybe 12?). It is still very reasonable to go, as long as you bring your snacks with you.

Do any of you here watch calories as well as carbs? I started yesterday to focus more on calories and not so much on carbs, but the last two days I have been at about 1800 calories and I would like to 1200-1500 and am thinking about doing the frozen dinners, atleast on the days I work. Any suggestions or ideas? I would like to stay moderate-low carbs as well as 1200-1500 calories. Thanks

Got to remember to take CLA/GLA when I get home from work.

Okay guys.....Brace yourselves. $11.50 for ONE ticket. This was a mid afternoon, weekend price so I don't know what a matinee would run. $8??? We are so freakin over priced in everything here on the West Coast!

OH! And get this......$9.50 for a medium bottle of water and 2 packages of candy! I'm done.

I'm just now starting to think more about calories.

I am also finding that each time I try to lose fat, it takes longer and longer each time. I used to be able to burn it a lot faster than I have been. I guess I have to learn how to maintain when I am where I want to be.

Is that your Min/Max, or just your min range? Is Doc saying not to eat more than 1500kcal?

I'm trying to be more aware of my calories, after several accusations by BF that I don't eat enough, and guess what, He was right. Using fit day I found that I was often very much below my minimum Basal Metabolism Calories for the day. It's common knowledge that if you don't eat enough for even basic living, that your body will change it's metabolism to adjust. That's why I love high fat, it's so easy to get calories in that way, and it's generally tasty.

Why is 1200 the magic number? (I'd have to weigh 97lb and do nothing but rest 24 hours for that to sustain me, If I even woke up and walked around, I'd have to only weigh 50lb )
I weigh 125 lbs, and my BMR is 1320 and my normal activity calories are 1760 and that's 16 hours of light duty only (sitting, reading). a 20% cut in calories would still put me at 1408 for weight loss, still above BMR by 88kcal

Even if we try to lose weight by cutting calories, it shouldn't cut below our BMR, right?. And the heavier you are the higher the BMR would be and gets lower as you drop weight( and age). So I'm confused why 1200 is the oft quoted number to "stick to" for everybody .

I've been trying to maintain this current weight and I found that I had to eat more to keep jumping from up. when I kept to around 2000kcal (with effort) my weight stays easily. When I ate below my BMR, oddly, it crept up by half a pound to a pound even.

Just my tuppence.
Estimated Calorie Requirements I don't have a doc so I have to figure this stuff out for myself and this makes sense to me.

I proceeded to rip him an new bung hole just to let him know that if he would spend some money and buy us some new die tables THAT WORKED this crap wouldn't happen. Then I told him how I ask our old boss replace the chains that we pull the big dies apart with...they tend to get weak with use and need to be checked and maybe replaced. Then I ask if he had ever seen a log chain break and how it would feel to have a hundred thousand dollar die crash to the ground.

But yes, my knee is feeling much better.

Add a couple more bucks to that and you could of bought an Iowa spring turkey tag and went to the timber with me to chase an ugly bird with a brain the size of a pea. For a stupid bird, they sure are smart. We have been set up with in 50 yards of them for the past 2 mornings...just couldn't get them to fly down off the roost and over to us. Tomorrow will be a better day!

There I go talking about hunting again.

Yeah, I won't be going to anymore movies anytime soon! It was cool watching Aliens vs Monsters in 3D though.

...Just finishing up a great weekend! My nerves are a bit shot but I'm taking care of that with a glass of wine right now. Decided we would go for a nice bike ride today with DH and boys but the traffic was out of control! EVERYBODY and their mother wanted to come to the beach! Today was almost 80 degrees so it was packed. I was just a bit nervous riding my kids around with all the people driving around leaving the pubs near by. It's good to be showered up and home.

Hope you all have a great week ahead.

Ha, sounds like you were doing the same as me.
I didn't believe BF when he kept complaining that I didn't eat. I felt like I was eating all the time, but fitday showed me that I wasn't. Some days I would and some days were very very low, so I'm adjusting.

Shoot for the stars. Oh that reminds me I gotta go make some cocoa bark. That's a great way to get extra calories in , but ya gotta be careful cause it can kill your appetite. I like to make mine with almonds and flax seed, or with a bunch of mixed seeds like sunflower, flax, pumpkin sesame and poppy, or drizzle macbutter into it. Nummy>

I'll give you some ideas for calories if you need! How about Avocado Soup. 171 calories per cup.

2 avocados
2 t lemon juice
1/2 c sour cream
dash of salt and hot sauce
3 cups chicken broth.

Blend first three ingredients, then add broth slowly blending slowly. (don't splatter) add salt and hot sauce to taste. Chill. Serve. Makes 5 one cup servings. or four 1 1/4 cup servings.

I had this with baked salmon, then with baked salmon with rotel and sliced black olives. It's recommended to be served with smoked salmon.

HTH.

metqa, thanks for the advice and recipe. I had my first taste of avocado in Florida in February. My mind has a problem eating green foods for some reason and I never would try them before. It was pretty good

They always tell us not to eat something that has turned green. So what the heck do you do with it if it STARTS green!! Seriously the inside of some avocados is scary.

Trish - You are doing so great on your weight loss journey! WTG!! I would claim the 195! Would you mind recapping for me? You have been back on plan two months? Lost what? Odd the doc could not tell you about your own body. Some folks that don't really care will know first. What a system we dwell in.

Chic - We need to move closer together! I am alone a great deal of the time, between DH usual work schedule, OT, and travel. We could combine our witts and take our youngens out! LOL

Mikki - Hey pretty girl! Glad to see ya back! Drop in more often!

Phil - I am glad that knee is better. You must be living right! A die like that could have done some major major damage! God bless ya!

MMof2 - How ya doing Pack-Rat-Sista!?

Metqa - Girl you are just a bundle of information! Thank you for the index!

Everyone I forgot - Howdie!!!

My weight is down. I won't go near the scales, as they are evil. My clothing says I lost a bit!

ADLMA, I started back on plan March 16. my weight had gone back up to 215, but when I started back on plan I was 210. I am now bouncing between 195 & 198. Thats ok though as long as I stay out to the 200's. I'll have another "whoosh" soon, I just feel it . dr. said I am doing it right, 1.5 lbs a week is the best way to keep it off (but I do need to eat more calories for energy)

How do you avoid the scale? I can't walk by it without jumping on lol

Easy! LOL That thing musses with my mind! I went to the doctor the week before last week and will go again this week. I will let him weigh me. LOL My scale is possessed! We are on the very same track, except you are a bit ahead of me. I got fully on plan two weeks ago, when the doc said my cholesterol was high. I want to avoid the midication, so I am trying to lose the weight. My stomach is finally cooperating. It seems impossible to lose weight when my tummy is fighting against me. It really musses with my metabolism. I decided to use The Ultrasimple Diet and add the combo. I'll see how it goes.

I'm finding it harder to stay on plan. I get so burned out on LC after a few weeks . I need to find something I can stick with for life.

Gotta go get ready for my hair appt. I hope Kim liked what Erin did for her

My Dr.s scale weighs me less than mine. Might be time for a new scale

Trish..... Thank you, thank you, for referring Erin. I loved it !!!! (and I am soooo picky). I did not tell her I was a hairdresser ( ) they always seem to do better if they don't know ! A week ago, I stopped in Walmart () and this lady cut my hair, she was suppose to be an instructor at the beauty school a few years ago. It was AWFUL !!!!

I knew I had found a new hairdresser when she point cut my hair . I have a lot of hair and it needs the extra bulk taken down a bit.. Boy their prices are reasonable too .

BTW--- She called you Patty and I was so for a minute LOL

Anyway------ Thanks again !!

Now back to your regular programming........

I can feel a difference in my stomach area but the scale is not moving down as fast as I would like and the inches are not showing yet. But I seen also that the combo can stall for a bit. So I gonna give it another month.
I aldo have been exercising a bit too.
That scale hates to move after my hyster last year.

BTW Trish is the park across from Reflections a walk park, or have a walk trial or something ?

Hey Kim, I am so sorry I forgot to tell you I also go by Patty and Patricia. Erin told me it took her awhile to figure out who you were talking about . I forgot they call me Patty there !!! I'm glad y'all got it figured out, and you liked what she did for you. She said you were a very nice lady . Yes the park it right past there on the left. Thats where Tom goes to walk around the lake. They have a paved path and its a mile round. There is also a small golf course there that we go play at when we can. Its really a nice park. We took Hailey there during Toms lunch one day last week and she had a ball playing on the slides and swings. Alot of people go there to walk. With the weather warming up, I plan on meeting Tom there more and walking with him. Your welcome to come join us anytime !!!

Good News! Skinner, the Orange Cat is gone for Good! My neighbor caught her again, and gave her to a girl in town who's moving to a larger home soon. So she'll have more room than I could give her. What a great deal, a petite cat, already spayed and with a good temperament. I'd've tried harder to keep her but I don't think it really liked me that much.

That's good since the cat obviously didn't like staying in my apartment for more than a few hours or overnight. She vanished the first chance she could. My neighbor just told me and I confided that I was worried that I couldn't find the cat after she'd caught it the first time. Again she found the stupid animal huddled in the rain, and was able to catch it again.

Another beast to not worry about. Good Riddance and Happy life to that cute (but cynical looking ) cat

Thanks for the invite, I can see it now .. you and Tom walking, me running to keep up with you long legged peeps !!

Have you seen the weather for the end of this week into the wekend

My step sons' prom is this Saturday (Portsmouth)and it's going to be 84 degrees
