metqa, what they are talking about doing is laying off the night shift production until things pick up. We are Union, and I have the seniority to take any job I want there. But because of my restrictions, I cannot physically do other jobs without injury to my neck. So in a way, I understand where they are coming from, but it still sucks. They are making me go to their Dr on the 17th, whos an orthapedic surgeon, for evaluation. I still dont know what thats about. Their dr knows nothing about my injury and never treated me for it. It could go either way .

So far its all still rumor, nothing official from the company yet

kycowgirl - hoping the best for you on Friday. I have never seen True Blood, but think I've seen it advertised. We don't have Tivo, so thank goodness for abc.dot.com - no commercials (well short ads but you can click to continue the show after 30 seconds).

michele - I googled "supplements cla and white blood cells" and did come up with a couple of places that mention it did raise the wbc. You might want to google the phrase that I did and take a peek.

What a day....
Went to get my haircut, she was suppose to be there at 2. I was there.....she was not... They called her she said the manager told her come in at 4 instead. She is 45 mins away and she knew I was coming... she has my number. For the exact reason as we had today. DID SHE CALL ME ? ....... NO !!!! I am a retired hairdresser, thats why it infuriates me when they act like ..... oh well !!!! I say she lost that commission and her 10.00 tip. I am soooo picky when it comes to a hairdresser but I think it might be time to move on .

Then.... My chicken sammy , grilled chicken on 2 pieces of lettuce with tomato, and mayo. was screwed up . So I waited until I got home and re fixed it.

Do you think I had a bad day ???? !!!!

Everybody - Thank you so much for the well wishes for my book!!! It is actually a series of Christian children's books with little hidden messages in them. I wrote them for my girls and gave them to my nieces and nephews. I have only submitted it, I think twice and was rejected. I know a famous writer, and looked to her for a little help. She saw me, believe it or not, as competion, and would not aid me. Then, she varied from her usual crime mystery to a children's book. The thing scared me!

Trish - You are in my prayers. I hope it all turns out just fine. I know it is hard living in limbo.

Chic - Got those running pics? The race was last Saturday right? How did you do?

MMof2 - Girls home for break?

Tom - You are doing so well! Wait! Is the whoosh fairy with you? We seem to have lost her. I thought Mikki had her in her basement, but. . .

Kimlou - Hope you are doing well!

Metqa - How is the kitty beast? Ever return?

I usually get an appt right away when I call. Alot of the guys from work go there too. when she left Fantastic Sams, I followed her to reflections. They are all really nice there

ADLMA. dont give up !!

ADLMA....Hi sweet lady! Unfortunately my DH fell asleep at the finish line and didn't catch me crossing it. I spent 20 minutes looking for him at the other end while he was still waiting for me to "cross" way on the other side. It was one of those mornings where I felt really supported by him....not. I forgave him after he took us all out for a celebratory brunch.

Anyway, I think I did okay. I finished it in 30 minutes 45 seconds. I was number 36 out of 139 women to cross the finish line in my age group 35-39 (i am 39 years old). I was the 294th female out 1113 to cross the finish line and I came at in at 748 out of 1912 runners over all male and female. It felt really good to finish it. Thanks for asking!

Trisha....It's a hiding. You have to FIND it. It should pop out at you sometime.

Gonna head out to AZ for Easter sometime soon. If I don't get a chance...I wish you ALL a very blessed Easter.

well I got the call...34 layed off. I think they are going to try to let me go. They called and said there is nothing there I can do within my restrictions. They told me not to come in tonight and be up on the hill at the main office on Monday. Everyone else is going in tonight to get their lay-off instructions, so they will get paid for tonight and holiday tomorrow, but not me. They are screwing me out of pay for tonight and holiday pay friday. Time to call my lawyer !!!

OMG, that is awful! This is a crazy world we live in and companies have no loyalty to their good workers these days...such a shame.

Thanks for answering my question on the GLA.

Chic - Enjoy AZ.

They stink! I'd show up anyway and say I was there to get my lay off instructions for how to apply for UI and to get my holiday pay too since everyone else is. How dare they single you out, the snots!

ETA: why would they tell you NOT to come in? it's not like anyone else getting layed off will be doing any work, what has your restriction to do with getting instructions to be laid off?! I'm sure you can do that as well as the other! I'd so sue their butts!

I am not officially laid off yet. They said I could use my bumping rights and go to another job outside, but all of them are against my restrictions, so they said they don't know what to do with me. Thats why I have to go to a meeting monday morning. I am taking a union rep with me. I am afraid they are going to force me to take a job outside that will hurt my neck further. I would prefer to be laid-off than let that happen. My neck and back still hurt from the slope car accident last summer. It locks up on me when I turn my head to the left, my right arm goes into spasms and I drop whatever I am holding, my back has spasms every morning. I have to take a hot bath every morning just to loosen up enough to make it through the day. I have been trying to get in to see my rehab Dr. for months and keep getting the run around. Why is nothing easy

I'm back from my meeting. It went well. Since they had nothing within my restrictions, I am layed off which is better than being let go . I cashed in all my vacation pay so we can take a Florida vacation in May to de-stress !! Now hoping this is a temporary lay-off. They said it will go to the end of the year, but the Union thinks 3-4 months. Our contract is up May 23rd, and they think this may have something to do with that.

Welcome back Mikki .

kim, hang in there, give it a chance gf
