Today is my first day starting the combo and I sure hope to see great results like the rest of you

I ordered the liquid CLA and does anybody know if it has to be refridgerated after opening? It doesn't say anything on the bottle so I was just wondering if it needs to be put in the fridge or not??

commando, It does not have to be refrigerated but you can if you like. I do like to keep mine refrigerated because it makes it thicker. I store it upside down, and shake the heck out of it to mix it up good. The good stuff is at the bottom, so be sure to shake it good

Happy Sunday Everybody!!!

Head Cat fights last night. I wonder who it was. Probably not Skinner. She is such a snob, she'd probably just wither the other cat with a glance.
still haven't seen hide nor fur of her.
Have a happy warm, sunny Sunday!

kycowgirl - Thanks for the welcome. JUDDDD is the Johnson Up Day Down Diet or Alternate Day Diet. Basically, it's calorie-cycling but several of us are combining it with lc, although some are doing it the way it came out. Gives the metabolism a good shake up.

Been taking the combo since Thursday evening. The only time I had the queasies were with the first two doses and even that wasn't bad and didn't last long at all.

I was lurking on another lc board forum (not here) where someone had asked about the CLA thing (didn't mention the GLA part). One board member said she had read where the CLA increased the white blood cell count and that that wasn't a good thing. I haven't googled it yet, but with as many people here are on it, I wondered if any of you read about any not-so-great things about CLA?

well....today is my third day taking the combo. I was a little queazy the first few times taking it but nothing I couldn't handle. One thing I have noticed though is I'm a little "gassy" so hopefully that passes soon! I'm going to measure after a week and see if there are any changes!

I have big time stomach issues and thyroid issues. I never had problems due to the combo at all. I even had blood work done while on the combo, and nothing odd showed up. It will thin your blood, however. If you anticipate surgery, discontinue use at least two weeks prior to surgery and do not resume, until the doc has released you.

Trish - I went to the Tate site. I need to get my ducks in a row and submit my book. I think I submitted to them a while back. If I did, they rejected me. LOL. The again, Patricial Cornwell was rejected like a hundred times before she was accepted. I may have a chance! LOL!

What are the plans for Easter, yall?

Hello everyone, we are back. Didnt win much as usual, but we had fun and got mom out of the house for a couple days. She really enjoyed it. We did do a little cheat at the casino buffet, with the carb blockers, and today, I am down another inch in my belly, and back to 199. Now I need to get out of the 190's

Kim, well as good as it gets

vanilla, I looked it up on the net, but thanks for the explaination . I try to post everything I have read about the cla, good and bad, and I havent read anything about it being bad yet. I even talked to my Dr. before taking it and she said it was perfectly fine. if I do find anything bad, I will surely post it

commando, don't get discouraged. It took me about 3 weeks the first time to see good results. Try taking it at night. I have no burps, or stomach issues that way

ADLMA, don't give up, keep trying. I have faith you will get that book published

as ADLMA said, the borage oil is a blood thinner. There is a warning about it in the first post of every cla/gla thread. You should always check with your Dr. before taking this combo since it could conflict with any meds you are on. My Dr. had me stop taking it 3 weeks before my surgery

chic, metqa, good afternnon

wheres Phil, Michele and lucki?

Thanks for all the replies on my CLA question. I was going to google it today here at work, but I ended up catching up on 3 episodes of "Lost."

kimlou - the combo does seem to quell my appetite a bit. Not alot and not all the time, but sometimes. Must depend on what I'm eating with.

Kim, the first time i tried the cla/gla I had no appetite at all. This time though, no matter how much I eat, I feel hungry all the time. Do you take your fish oil at the same time as the combo? your supposed to wait at least 3 hours between so there isnt too many oils trying to get absorbed

vanilla, we love Lost !!! I work nights so we TIVO it so I can watch it when I get home. I can fast forward the commercials out that way too . Another favorite is True Blood. have you seen it?

and I posted this earlier in the week in the main lobby

I love my Kroger

Today I bought
chic tenders 3.50
Lg eggs .88 a dozen
Iceberg .88 head
Carbsmart yogurt .42 (new flavors strawberry pomegrant. blackberry, cherry
Cukes .77
whole chicken .88 lb
grnd beef 1.29 lb
webbers sausage 2.00 1 lb roll
Starkist Tuna .59
Pecans 3.99 12 oz bag
Bag of roamine lettuce marked down .75

Only spent 21.00 and since I used my Kroger card I saved 9.08 and points towards my next gas purchase. Which I use in Portsmouth, cause I can save .20 a gallon !!!

And who says Lcing is expensive
Wow, those are some good prices! We don't have a Kroger anywhere near here, but when my daughter lived in Tennessee, she had a Kroger that she shopped at but the prices weren't as good as the ones you mention.

Trish - Congrats on the weight loss! Mine came back! I'm so frustrated but that happened to me the last time I was taking the combo. Do you think I should increase the GLA? The ones I am currently taking have 300 mg. of GLA and I am taking 3 of them. Do you think I should increase to 4?

vanilla_latte - I haven't heard anything about it increasing the white blood cells, but if you find information that says it does, please let me know, as I have Hashimoto's and don't need to have my white blood cells increased. Thanks for giving us a heads up.

Chic - Congrats on the great 5K run. We knew you could do it.

ADLMA - I hope you get your book published. Let us know if you do so we can go and buy it. A neighbor lady of mine wrote a book years ago called "Children in the Attic." (I believe that is the title of the book.) Also, another friend of mine wrote "A Stitch in Time."

I've had a busy past few days, and it doesn't look like it will slow down anytime soon. MIL had several doctor appts. yesterday and today, and after that yesterday I was unhooking my computer, etc. and clearing out the family room for new carpeting that was installed this morning. Then, I had to hook all the crap back up again and I somehow don't have my speakers hooked up properly, yet, it looks as though they are properly connected.

MIL's appt. today was because she has a severe chest cold and is close to pneumonia. Doctor put her on a 7 day course of antibiotics and wants to see her again Friday. Thursday morning I have physical therapy. If I'm not here, you know where I am.

Thanks Michele!

Tom, I say go for it. If I can do it, you can. Just start out slow and work up comfortably to avoid injury.

Okay, i rewarded myself by taking a "vacation" on my healthy eating. Today it's time to get back on eating right. I think I am going to stay away from bad carbs and eat plenty of fresh veggies, fruits and proteins. We'll see how it goes.

Wishing everyone a FAB day!

Kim, even though I have been there for 16 years, I was told if there was a lay-off, I would be the first to go because of my restrictions. They said they have nothing else I can do within them.

Michele, I take 4-5 borage oil a day. Tom can get by with 2 but I need more. 's for your MIL

Tom, you will walk off those extra pounds in no time. If I get layed-off, I'll come and walk with you. Of course you can go to Tumbleweed with us

metqa, and sign of the furball? The half blind one that showed up her hasnt been seen in a while. Hope its ok

chic, did you get my offline on yahoo messenger? I have been getting free ipod training dowloads in case I ever get an ipod lol. Latest one is for a 5K run. I sent you the link. Sign up for e-mail notifications and they let you know when new ones are available

Bogus! Even though your restrictions doesn't restrict your current job, they are gonna let you go cause you can't do someone esle's job. if they are that desparate, they should keep the other person doing the other job. How stupid!

No sign of the Furby. Hope your Furby is okay. I'm assuming the warm weather has sent them roaming.
