4 pkts of sweetener mix Normally 1 Splenda 3 Stevias or just what I have I have xylitol but it gives a cool sensation taste
1 1/2 T of Cocoa Powder
Peanut Butter to taste
( I use unsalted if I am using nuts in the bark)
Nuts

I use a paper plate line with wax paper. Put nuts on wax paper.
Melt EVCO in microwave, add cocoa powder and Sweetener, mix till blended add peanut butter.
Pour melted mixture over nuts. Place in freezer about 15 mins. Turn the bark upside down on plate ,break in pieces. Place in storage bag. I keep mine in the freezer

I make 3 batches at a time, 1 with pecans, 1 with almonds and 1 with walnuts

If I make it with crunchy peanut butter I don't add nuts
I just made some bark and added a healthy dollop of almond butter to it. It is great! I've always put whole nuts or made cups with it, but I actually taste the nut butter even embedded in the chococlate. I lined the plate with matchstick almonds and sprinkled hemp seed on top. the nut butter makes it much more substantial, such that it doesn't melt nearly as fast as I eat it.

My almond butter is raw and unsalted. It tastes sweet on it's own. Oh, I've reduced the sweeter by one scoop of stevia since I'm using half dark and half red(plain) cocoa powder. it's not as strong and needs less sweetener. or maybe my tastes have changed.

Thanks. Folks have told me to mix the butter into the syrup, but it took repeating before I tried it and I have you to thank for the impetus!!!!

Eeeek, not doing anything where I have to get stuck by needles . Thanks Kim, I also googled it

I found some organic extra virgin coconut oil at GNC for $12.99. A bit high, but Krogers didnt have any that was virgin. I'll start on it tomorrow

Wow! Was it an electric surge?? That happened to my parents, but it wasn't a storm it was the power company and they reimbursed them for the TV that blew up.

We had a terrible electrical storm Tuesday night around 2am. We were sound asleep and there was a loud crack and the whole house shook. I thought the lighting hit the house and ran out to see if we were on fire. (Tom slept through it all) Doublewides go up so quick. Every window I looked out front and back, there was lightning flashing. it was pretty awesome for being so scarey. I wanted to video it but I was afraid I would get shocked. It looked like an alien invasion lol

There has been alot of weird weather lately, lightning, flash floods, and tornados. 90 one day and yesterday was only 56 for a high and back in the 80's now

WeirdShow huh? Glad nobody got zapped, especially you. Did you see any electric ghosts in the house? like in hallway.I've heard sometime ambient electricity from storms coalesce in small spaces and look like ghosts. I think I saw one as a kid.

Metqa- Man does that sound really GOOD! I'm gonna have to try it.

Trisha- That GNC price is high, even for here in CA! Do you have a Mother's or any other health foods store?

Ooooooh. Too bad you aren't on this late. I would have loved to hear a good ghost story. And I'm all alone tonight!

chic, our ghosts arent scarey unless they catch you off guard. The main one is a tall dark haired man. My daughter and many of her friends have seen him when they used to stay over. A physic friend of mine said he is my daughters spirit guide, someone from my family that passed away. He sounds just like my father who passed in 1985. I was standing in the living room one day talking to my daughter, when I felt someone behind me put their arm around my waist. I looked back and there was no one there. I jumped and screamed and took off to the bedroom, my daughter screamed and ran the other way lol. she had no idea what happened. She came back to the bedroom to ask me what was wrong and when she got to the spot where I was standing in the living room, she said it was very cold in that spot. I told her what happened and she was freaked out !! Another time when my german shepard died, my son was digging a hole in the yard so we could bury him. I was standing at the foot of the grave devistated over losing my dog Zip, that we loved so much, when again I felt someone put their arm around my waist. I thought Tom had come by to comfort me, but when I looked, no one was there.
There is a babys grave in the front yard also, and at times, we hear a baby crying. I tried to take some pictures of the graves before, there are 6 of them fom the 1800's, and my camera shut off and never would work again. The strange part about the graves is, there are 2 headstones in different places for the same woman. One says Scotia Woods, wife of Benjamin Woods and the other says Scotia (sp) Woods, consort of Benjamin Woods. Can't figure that one out. Its the same birth and death dates. The other 2 just have initials.

Free, welcome back . The important thing is your back .Catch us up on what you have been up to

Thermo CLA

Hello All,

I just bought a bottle of GNC's Thermo CLA, has anyone had good or bad results when using it? Should I also be taking it with GLA as well?

welcome to the site and this thread Amanda . Yes you should take the GLA with the CLA. I've never heard anyone talking about that brand of CLA. It will be interesting to see how it works, so please keep us posted on how its working for you

Well I knew that, the sales person at GNC recommended that I just buy that one. I've heard from other people that you should take a green tea supplement with regular CLA, for a boost of energy I thought it would of been better to buy the Thermo CLA instead of having to buy an array of other supplements.

Its this part that worries me. I drink alot of green tea so I know its good for you . I just want you to be well informed and stay safe and healthy with it . Hopefully you will do ok with it

.....several other ingredients may carry some side effects. Caffeine Anhydrous, a modified version of caffeine, may increase the instances of several side effects, such as dehydration and rapid hart beat. Green Tea Leaf Extract also contains caffeine, increasing the instance of these side effects. Green Tea is generally considered safer than regular caffeine, however, due to the health benefits associated with it.

good afternoon! Well this past week was a bust in both eating and exercising. Scale showed a gain. I have been taking the combo the last few days, and I do have to say the CLA definitely tastes better out of the refrig v at room temp.

exercise:
JM level 1
30 minutes on the treadmill

food:
b: scrambled eggs and sausage
s: celery
l: meatloaf and green beans w/pat of butter
s: sunflower seeds and diet pepsi
d: meatloaf and green beans or baked chicken (haven't decided)

Another week

Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a great week. I just wanted to let everyone know of last weeks progress. I am still on low carb.. Still on the combo.. I lost another 1/2 inch. .. still not sure about any weight loss, cuz my scale is broken. I think maybe 1 or 2 lbs.

getmoving: I am taking 5 Tonalin Gelcaps and 4 Borage oil Gelcaps.. I take them as soon as I wake up.

Kisses: The information I have read about the combo is they are supposed to help acne. I have acne and I have noticed a significant difference.(much better) I don't know if it is something with your body chemistry that makes you break out. Wish I could give you more info.

I, too, have been breaking out since I started the GLA/CLA combo a week ago. I know some people have said it helped their skin. Does anyone else have any advice about this? Does it eventually level off the way the nausea did?
