Thanks for the nice welcome... not much to report, still waiting for this puffiness from the salty pretzels to completely subside... it's getting better, my feet don't look like balloons anymore... I'm taking the combo faithfully every day...

kycowgirl & Gold rush, I hope you get your questions answered satisfactorily about the safety & effectiveness of the liquid CLA...

Justachic, I'm looking forward to hearing more about how the coconut oil works for you... raises your metabolism, I hadn't heard that before...

Hope everybody has an AMAZING Thursday!!!..

Yay!!! I'm so happy!! Thank you for the info kycowgirl!!! And I hope our concerns will be taken into consideration, especially for the flavour of the CLA! It tastes like plastic! Thanks again!!! =]

Chrissy called back again. (VERY nice lady) She said Toms brother Bernie is the VP there and he will try to stop by the thread here and explain a little better about the collapsed bottles and the cla issue. Something about the bottles coming from a higher altitude that makes them suck in . I get it but I am sure Toms brother Bernie can explain it better so y'all have nothing to fear by taking it

She also said that out of 1764 bottles of their last shipment, with only 100 left, they have not had any bad bottles . The only thing that bothers me is unless they find someone else to manufacture the liquid CLA, it will be discontinued , and even though it tastes yukky, I still prefer it over the capsules. Adding it to milk and taking it at night really makes a big difference. No indigestion, or burp issues that way.

She said if we had any other concerns, feel free to call and ask

I think the plastic taste is from not shaking it long enough. I know when I first starting taking it about a month ago, the first couple of times it tasted like plastic but after that (and shaking more vigoursly) it didn't taste like plastic.

The new shipment I received was fine - it was sunken in a little bit, but I was told that was normal. I was told that it actually arrived to them sunken in as well. and I remember the first shipment I received was also sunken in and I didn't have any problems with it.

I have been assured that the vitamins and oils are safe and effective and can withhold normal shipping procedures with no ill effects. I apologize for posting about the shipping problems, that was UPS's error - not Netrition. I spoke to Maria with Netrition this morning and again was assured about the product ordered. Right now I need to get busy cleaning house (because I am really behind) but I will post later today about the conversation we had. FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE SUNKEN BOTTLES - PLEASE DO NOT BE - THEY ARE FINE.

Email regarding CLA/GLA order

Hello Fonda,

Please let me reiterate how much we appreciate you doing this for us!
We appreciate your help in this matter as well as your business!

************************************************** **************

We have received similar concerns regarding this product.

I can assure you that it is not effected by the heat in any way. When we receive
the bottles from the manufacturer, 50% of them are dented due to the altitude
change in transit. The product is not compromised at all. If you have noticed
a difference in taste, personally we have as well. It appears that the lab that
produced this last batch did not put as much sweetener/ flavoring in the product.
The chemical makeup of the product remains the same; however, it will taste more
like oil as opposed to the sweet orange flavor. Our last shipment contained 1764
bottles, we have 100 left and have received no other complaints regarding the
quality of the product.

The Borage Oil can also sustain the heat in transit.

************************************************** ***************

Thank you Fonda, for making Netrition a part of your healthy lifestyle!

Best Regards,

thanks fonda, trish for getting the update on the CLA.

Hey Trish. Sorry for the Sucky Georgia Weather. It was a mess.

Hey Chic, thanks for the compliments. I'm so vain about my looks, I'm so shy about posting pics unless they are perfect.

Hi there Aunt Sheshie!

Here is a link for you to check out when you can. I'm falling in love with this oil!!!

100% Pure Virgin Coconut Oil and Hypothyroidism

So far I have been mixing it with my tea. I drink a lot of green tea thru out the day so it's been easy for me to get it in.

Also, in this article it explains why people should NOT go too low on calories but instead exchange the type of fats they usually consume. Good stuff to know!

***click on the above where it says 100% pure- underlined

I just started a few days ago, but I have been taking 4 tablespoons a day. One spoonful in my tea 4 times a day. I hope it lives up to what it promises. I'll be the guinnea pig and let you know how I feel. So far, I don't care to eat much after I drink my first cup which is a great thing. Appetite suppressant? Hmmmmm.

Another week

Hi Everyone,
Hello all the newcomers. Another week has gone by on the combo and I am doing good. The scale still reads 5 lbs. gone. Lost some more inches... I'm soooooo happy that this is working. My new measurements are as follows:

5-11-09
waist = 29.5
belly button flab = 34.5
thigh = 23.5

new

5-30-09

waist = 28
belly button flab = 32
thigh = 22

Wooooo Hooooo

total inches lost so far
waist = 1.5 inches
belly b = 2.5
thigh = 1.5

I am going to start taking fish oil, I read that omegas 3 and 6 work well for weight loss... GLA = omega 6.. So we'll see if I can handle the fish taste.

WOW!!! what an awesome job! I am going to start taking mine again tonight and hope I see similar results. What is a sample menu for you?

Good morning! I have been off the computer since Friday due to an out patient procedure (D & C and endometrium ablation due to irregular/ heavy periods and bleeding in between and a polyp was removed for biopsy). The procedure went ok, slept most of the afternoon on Friday. Went to the zoo on Saturday morning and took the kids swimming Saturday night. I am back to work this morning. I didn't exercise, per the doctors paperwork: no exercise, no sports, no lifting, and no sex until I get cleared from him. I thought walking on the treadmill or riding the bike would be ok 'cause it isn't too strenuous, but decided to wait and call the doctor/nurse on Monday and verify that is ok. I thought they told me on Friday that it would be ok, but I will double check on Monday.

sample menu

Fonda>>> I take 5 tonalin gelcaps and 4 borage oil.. just added omega 3 yesterday. Took 1 gelcap at lunch and 1 at dinner. I follow low carb. I have in the past just done carb cycling. (5 days of low carb, 2 days of high carb) I lost 25 lbs. Hit a slow down in March with a job change of sitting all day long vs. walking all day long and was putting weight back on, so that is why I started the combo. I had high carbs over the memorial day weekend (Sunday and Monday). I decided that I wanted to skip the high carb weekend because I am in Ketosis and I just want this extra flab gone so I will probably wait until next weekend to enjoy my high carb weekend. I eat a lot of salads with ranch and chicken and bacon and cheese. I just discovered the low carb wheat wraps which after you subtract the fiber grams the net grams become about 6 grams per tortilla. So I pulled out the tortilla maker and had a chicken and cheese quasadilla. I made the crackslaw which my daughter absolutely loved and made herself some more the next day. I have to also share that I made a low carb spaghetti - FABULOUS! The recipe for spaghetti is simple if you can find a low carb sauce.

I have a VG's store by me which has quite a variety of items. I went through all of the labels and found a sauce which only had 4 grams per 1/2 cup I think. Cooked a spaghetti squash for the noodles (which not only is healthy, but sooooooo good). Looks just like angle hair pasta. Browned the ground beef added the sauce and had some parmesan. Just FABULOUS. I eat a lot of buffalo wings and chicken. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. I am always looking for options that may work for me. If you like wraps/tortilla's Mama Lupe has a good tortilla that is around 4 carbs after subtracting fiber. They are very filling and actually good. With carb cycling, do you find it difficult to go back to low carb after 2 days higher carb?

carb cycling

No I do not find it difficult to go back to low carb. I look forward to it actually.. I tend to binge on my high carb days so I feel awful when I do so I have no problems going back. I feel so much better on low carb. I am hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) so when I eat sugar I get in a viscous cycle of up and down blood sugar which makes me feel horrible so I don't eat a lot of sugar to begin with. I think my body got used to the carb cycling though, I have been doing it since September 08. Obviously being on it this long is very easy for me. It has become a way of life for me. But since I have been taking the combo, I am not hungry and I don't crave carbs. I just about have no appetite in the last few weeks. But I eat to stay healthy and keep my metabolism up. Today I was bad and I didn't eat anything until just now at 330 pm. Been working in the yard all day and I am just not hungry, i contribute it to the combo. Great appetite suppressor.

Hi guys!

I just thought I'd share this with you all. I've been taking Virgin Coconut Oil for about a week now and I have lost 2 and a half inches off my middle. DH also says that my face & neck are looking thinner to where my cheek bones stand out more. This is the interesting part of it all....I have NOT changed anything about the way I have been eating and I have continued to do my regular fitness routine. I highly recommend trying it. This is my first time using VCO and I plan on sticking to it.

Have a great day!

Hi metqa & Aunt Sheshie

mikkiiiii !!!!!!! , its about time you checked in !! Good to see your doing so well. Check in more often will ya??? I've been layed off since April 10th. I'm on unemployment so I dont mind too much. Kinda enjoying the break from that mine, and it gives us lots of time for vacations

I havent been on plan for a couple weeks. The trip to Florida killed it and with our upcoming trip to Wyoming in 2 weeks, there is no point in even trying to watch what I eat. It will be fast food the whole week. I'll going to stick with the combo so hopefully I wont regain. I'll be happy if I stay under 200 until we get back and I can get back on plan and losing more . We have had some really nasty stroms since we got back from Florida last week. We have a severe thunderstorm warning with hail and damaging wind till 11 tonight again. sheeeesh. We had a hail storm this afternoon already. Whens it gonna stop !!! I want SUMMER !!!

Okay, I am taking Spectrum Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. It comes in a glass jar with a screw lid. I am taking 4 tablespoons a day. Good luck!

Hi Mikki...I'm so happy to hear you are maintaining your losses. Great going!

good morning ladies! I started my combo again and am leaving the CLA in the fridge. It tastes much better and has a better consistency. I haven't been eating as good as I should, so hopefully restarting the combo will help me out a little!! I need to get back on a strict path but with summer approaching and fruit season almost here - I will probably be changing it up again to enjoy fruit. Still no exercise for the week. Doctor gave the ok on Monday, but decided to wait until next week to start back up - call me lazy but I am enjoying the extra sleep.

Some info I found about Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil - Thermogenesis and Weight Loss
Research has shown that coconut oil increases thermogenesis, the rate of burning calories to produce heat and energy from food. Research has also shown that animals fed MCT oils had smaller fat pads and a number of key adipogenic genes were down-regulated. MCT fed animals also had improved insulin sensitivity, glucose tolerance and reduced adipose tissue lipoprotein lipase.
It has become clear that individuals consuming coconut oil rather than soybean, olive or other LCT (long chain triglyceride) oils have an edge in losing weight and keeping it off

Dosage: How much is needed?
The equivalent of 3.5 tablespoons of coconut oil, 10 ounces of coconut milk or 7 ounces of raw coconut (approximately one half of a raw coconut per day).

Safety Precautions and Side Effects
Coconut oil is food and can be consumed freely without any adverse effects. The only precaution is to keep your total calories within the range that is appropriate for your body type and activity level.
