No, not really, sometimes Dh gets homesick and asks me to come and stay for a couple days. So he talked me into rescheduling my dr appt and come and visit him a couple days. Just makes for a long day if I have to stay cooped up in the hotel room. Usually I shop one day and lay by the pool or find something to do.

We just got back from eating out, He has fallen asleep, ( thnk goodnes for laptops)guess I can't blame him. He worked from 7 am Sunday morning to 1am this morning , had to be back at 8 am and worked til 4 pm. We are gonna have breakfast in the morning them I am coming home early. The floods really hit hard so he'll be working overtime for the next couple days.

CLA alone

Goldrush> You were asking if you should take the CLA by itself. I have been taking Ultra 90 for 2 1/2 months (which have CLA and Collogen) I think I might have lost some inches in the last 2 weeks, my pants were feeling just a hair looser. They claim it takes about 3 months to notice anything because your body has to adjust and you start to build lean muscle (which weighs more than fat). I was only taking 3 U90 a day. I added the extra 2 CLA pills and 2 borage pills last week and lost 5 lbs. I honestly think that the combo is needed. Taking the CLA by itself might get the "time" in that supposedly is required and then when your GLA comes in you might be ahead of the game. Walmart has the Borage oil for only $3.84 for a small bottle, maybe you could go get a bottle there until you get your order. Hope it works for you.. I will weigh in again on Friday, I am feeling a little bloated, let you all know on Friday.

I agree with both - don't beat yourself up over it. Drink your water and get back on track and you will be fine.

Later this week I am going to have to order some more liquid CLA (on payday). might try the local health food store to see what their prices are since I am going to have to go there anyway for some almond flour. We are having a pot luck lunch at work next Tuesday and I am going to make the banana split cake that has been posted on here. It is soooo good and this way I know I will have something on plan to eat!!!

Good morning everyone . The scale is being very kind to me. Down to 189 today woohoo . I'm losing a pound a day . I'm sure it will slow down, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts

Fonda, the only place I have found the liquid cla is netrition. That banana split cake sounds yummy !! Care to share the recipe so I don't have to spend all day searching?

It seems to be helping. I ate horribly last week and didn't gain anything (thankfully!). Still tastes awful, but kind of aquiring a taste for it now!

Yep! That is the one. It is sooooooooo gooooood. I made it for Thanksgiving. It just makes me mad that almond flour is so expensive for the amount that you get. But I guess it is worth it in order to endulge every so often on a delicious dessert.

I was doing Jillian Michael 30 day Shred dvd until the dvd player at work broke, (I need to do it at home). Right now I usually work out on either the treadmill or bike, sometimes both -depending on how energetic I am. I do good on the 4 days I work 'cause I workout here at work before coming to work, but on my days off I don't seem to be motivated enough to pop in a video or dvd and workout.

I haven't tried the Dannon low carb, but carbmaster is really good and has a generous portion size and reasonable 2/$0.88 at Dillon's (Kroger).

I use KRoger brand Lite. I've also used carbmaster but I like Kroger brand better. they have apple pie flavor with little bits of real apple instead of just a flavored syrup. and key lime pie,a nd lemon, and mmmmm . . . .Kroger brand often has the actual fruit. many of the carbmaster were just flavor and a bit too sweet. And the Dannon ones are usually too expensive for me unless they are on sale.

They really are expensive but I don't think I've seen any of the ones you gals are talking about. I'll have to keep an eye out for the carbmaster. If I can save a penny or two, I'm all for it!

So what are you up to today Metqa???

Thanks but I think Kroger is a midwest store and I'm way over here on the far west. I have to choose from Ralphs, Vons, Pavilions, Albertsons, Smart and Final and Stater Bros. Do you guys have any of these stores over there?

Okay, I need some serious help. I am having a very heavy internet addiction problem today. Sick.

Hope you all are getting more done than I am.

Hi everyone! I am new to this board and thread, but not too new to low carbing(I resumed my regimen this past Feb) and I have a question if I may:

What is the maximum effective doses you find for the CLA/GLA combination? I don't want to take more than necessary if possible--thanks for any and all help!

Feeling SOoooo Tired. Need some B-vitamins or caffeine or something. Got class tonight and really don't feel like teaching. But is my buddy's birthday and I bought some explosive confetti poppers just for tonights class.

Sigh, Can I have some of your energy?

Nope. I have half an hour to come up with a lesson plan and a birthday party for tonights class. and where am I?

We don't have any of those stores Chic. I guess Dannon being it's own brand is a good choice then. There's also Blue Bunnie Brand Yogurt.

Hi LowCrabF69! Welcome to the CLA/GLA thread. Lots of good people here!
Here is some info for you.
Most effective daily dose...
CLA 3400 mg (1/2 Tbsp liquid once a day, or 5 Tonalin or Spring Valley capsules)
GLA 500-1000 mg (2-4 Borage Oil caps a day)
