It was very difficult to hang up when they were talking about donations for wives of fallen police officers, and soldiers etc.... Thants why I just dont answer anymore. How do I know if they are really how they say they are anyway ?

Yeowch Trish! that sounds painful.

ETA: MMO2, Howdy! I'm gonna keep my ratty old leotards for now. Fingernail polish takes care of the runs!

Forgot to add that you cut the lasagna rolls in in half after rolling so it stands on the flat end.

Trisha and Metqa....Another reason I like you gals so much! You have really good hearts!
So, how do you gals handle the solicitors at the entrances of grocery stores?

Those lasanga rolls sound really good right now!

I just smile and shake my head. Once I saw that they were selling things that would make good gifts, for donations that were less than the retail price of the item, that once I yielded. I'm getting better at refusing. I used to give to pan handlers (only the polite ones) till the city banned it. BF started carrying apples for a while and when someone asked for money for food, he'd offer them the apple. Once he gave away half his sandwich, and another time a slice of pizza. He has such a good heart, but he hates shiesters, if they don't take the apple or food, he ignores them.

I made some new lasagna rolls, the ones in the picture are happily digesting I'm gonna feed 'em to BF tomorrow morning on our "date"

ETA: and i finished my CLA for the day

I donate . Can't resist the little kids doing a fund raiser. If its adults, I'll give once and tell the rest I already gave earlier

Don't get down on yourself AC. I'd say it was the Nyquil. I love that stuff when I have a cold. 15 minutes after I take it, I'm out. That scale is like a drug for me too. I got to check it everyday.

There used to be a teenager who called my house asking for Amanda. I told her everytime that she had the wrong number. One night she called late. That pissed me off.

Me: HELLO!

Teen: Is Amanda there?

Me: A man to do what?

Teen: What????

Me: You ask if Amanda was here. I'm a man. What do you want me to do?

Teen: CLICK

She never called again. Must of learned to use a phone book.

I also had someone call me from the make a wish foundation asking me for a donation. I told them at least 5 times that I could not afford a donation at this time but they would not take no for an answer. I got pissed and said "Look, why don't you make my wish come true and never call here again!"

That was the end of them calling me. I don't mind donations but don't harrass me about it.

I guess I'm just a jerk.

Ha! Phil! Your My Kind Of Jerk! I loved those responses!

Atkins, Step away from the scale! You probably are retaining water from being sick. Take care of yourself and don't look at that scale for a while. Natural fluctuations vary by several pounds, it'll happen if you let it. I'm sure.

Hey Mikki, Thinkin' of you, too.

hi trish..i've had plantar fasciatis for some time now...it doesn't heal on it's own. inserts work if you get the right ones. cortisone shots help too but there's so much they can give you. i'm looking at surgery as an option but curves helped when i went. my ribs are better so i'll be going back next week. there is a boot you can wear at night. my mom just sent me one so i am gonna try it and see how it goes..if you get it you can't walk with it on or it'll do more damage. of course everyone is different but my experience has been that on it's own it gets worse. i got mine bad when i was walking across america on line a few years ago. increasing to 8,000 steps a day.

btw my avi is of me and my DD18....she just graduated Navy boot camp this past weekend. I'm one proud mama!!!

Good morning!

My cold is finally getting better.

Metqa - I hate it when people get pushy for donations after you have said no. I now do like Trish does -- I let the answering machine pick up and when someone I know starts to leave a message, I pick the phone up. I don't like screening my calls, but it is much better than getting frustrated with calls from charities.

Your lasagna flowers look beautiful, almost too pretty to eat.

Phil - You crack me up!

Trish - I hope your feet feel better soon. My DH had that and had cortisone shots in his feet. After the 3rd shot, his feet were healed. It took about 9 months. for his feet to feel better, but with the shot, it helped the pain.

Lucki - I love the pic. Congratulations to your DD!

Waving a big hello to everyone else. DH is home and we are going to go shopping and then do some tree trimming in our yard later. Have a good day.

IT'S HERE!!!!!! VACATION TIME! I thought it would never get here. I just hope time slows way down for the next week.

I thinking some rum and diet coke sounds pretty good right about now.

You guys remember totally worthless trivia that we use to do a few months ago?

Don't know why that just popped into my mind...it just did.

This Friday was a Totally Stupid Day for me.

It started out well enough, a good breakfast( I took all of my CLA), a clean counter and stove, a sunny day, Great tasting Kombucha, an extra work visit.

Then I get a flat tire, I can't reach anyone at the office, and in my frenzy to not be late I walk to the tire shop and persuade the guy to drive to my car to service it. Immediately leaving after getting the spare on. I rush to the office 1 ½ hours late, pack my visit bags and rush out the door. After a long almost two hour drive I arrive and realize I left the vitally important laptop computer at the office, and now the already late visit has to be rescheduled. I do what I can, and come back home practicing the wording of the apology letter I’m going to have to write. On the way home I stop by the Auto Zone and drop $50 for the new jack and wrench I needed 8 hours ago. Finally getting home, I rush to the door key in hand, so I can catch the rest of the radio interview I heard in the car, and encounter my open door as I left it 8 hours prior in my flat tire frenzy to get assistance.

It just doesn’t get any stupider than this.

At least no one thought anything in my home was worth stealing. With all the lights on, and music playing and closet doors open, bag of cat food on the stove top, someone probably would’ve thought I was home the whole time, thank goodness.

I’m gonna go bang my head against the wall.

Oh yeah, I just got my work performance review this Tuesday saying how I was so good at being on time, and available for work, being able to take responsibility without supervision, and having all of my work presented completed and without mistakes. Well, that all got shot to heck in one afternoon.

ETA: Phil, can you pour one for me?

OMG I was going to say, look in your closets! And under the bed!

Something similiar happened to me last week. I travel to different doctors offices in New England to train medical equipment the offices buy from my company. Last week, I was sitting patiently waiting to start training with the techs and doctors at 8 o'clock AM and there was no staff there..just a secretary. To make a long story short, an hour and a half later, the staff shows up. they look at me and say... training isnt scheduled till tomorrow. I said "no, its scheduled for today, Thursday" The tech giggled and said..."but today is Wednesday" All of a sudden, the fear of dread came over me. When I looked at my schedule book, I completely missed Wednesday! Which, I had to be in southern Conneticut for a 10 AM training..... 2.5 hours away....
Needless to say, I told the office I should have been at that I had a flat tire.... lol

Getting back to CLA/GLA , I have been taking now about 3 weeks. Now, I use very expensive French skincare products on my face.... Dont ask, Im just obsessed with not getting wrinkles... well anywho, the products give me that dewey glow look which I love....Well, lately, I've been slacking in the morning putting on the lotions and creams, but have noticed my face is supple and glows!

Anyone think its the GLA? Does that make your skin look fantastic?

Might I add, I also take

1,000mg Vit C
Biotin
3Tbsp Coconut Oil

Perhaps if these things are making my skin look fantastic, perhaps I can stop buying such expensive skincare!!!!!!

Atkins Chick....That could be. Maybe you will be saving yourself some money in skin care products. That would be a good advantage to taking the combo.

Sorry to hear about your day Metqa! Tomorrow will be a new and hopefully better day.

Atkins Chick....we had a conversation about this a few months back on how some of us were getting a bit on the slick side, LOL! I have to constantly powder my face when I am wearing foundation. What the heck IS dry skin anyway??? Since I've been taking borage oil....I just have no idea!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks Phil, Chic.

Today was a good day indeed. Had a date with BF, missed a work call (short notice but I was out without my car anyway), walked home for some exercise, and started my new batch of Kombucha.

Only thing is cause I was out all day didn't take any CLA.

I can't believe it was dark by 5pm And I wore all black to suck up sunshine during the day, but I was invisible on the way home! That's too dangerous, I should get some reflective tape.

Happy Love and Joy to everyone, Tee Hee! I'm feeling goofy and listening to Vince Guaraldi, I love that artist!

MikkiMouse, have you been taking CLA/GLA combo throughout your weight loss from the beginning?

Hi Everyone....
Hope everyone had a good weekend.....

Thanks Trish and Chic for your support... I love you all.....
I am away from home on work and last week was very hectic.....I am at Lancaster, PA for the next 2 weeks.
I am not getting much workout here, haven’t worked out last 3 days...
.... I am sticking to the combo, praying and keeping my fingers crossed . I’m on Atkins.... Its kinda a little hard here to keep on Atkins too as the I don’t get time to cook in the morning... and all the food that they have here is fried chicken.....
I feel like I am ruining all my effort

I am planning to get on the treadmill today... I am just hoping I get back on track and not gain much. So much belly fat to lose...

Keep up the good work everyone…..

Rekha

Hi everyone...gotta go to my friends and fix his computer before work but wanted to check in. I did 30 minutes of Wii Fit today, it was fun !!! Tom cooked a bunch of LC foods for us to eat this week. BBQ, meatloaf, and oopsie rolls. I should be able to drop a couple pounds this week with that and the combo. My jeans are way too tight !! I went up to 208.8 , so its time I got serious about this. Another long week with overtime so I'll post when I can.

Rekha, thats what we are here for , glad your hanging in here with us !!

Well my friend, I spent 6 hours in the tree stand today and saw lots of deer. It was great! When I pulled out onto the road I found out that I had a flat tire so I had to change that. I bailed out of the tree an hour before it got dark because my feet were cold. Glad I did too. It would of sucked changing a tire in the dark.

Good luck to your DS!
