On my bottle of braggs ACV it says it is aged in wood. So if you are allergic to wood, I would steer clear.

Today is day 3 for taking acv. I am up a bunch in weight I didn't take my bp med last night because my pressure was 117/65...it's never been that low. But today it is back up so tonight I will take my bp med. I am also holding water. Everything is puffy. For some reason this is not having the directic effect on me. I do normally wake up a bunch of times in the middle of the night and last night I slept great!

Stopping your blood pressure meds can cause water retention. I don't have high blood pressure but am on a small dose of a calcium channel blocker for water retention.

Wow, I just tried ACV in my ice tea sweetened with stevia. It's my new favorite drink. I recently stopped drinking diet soda because I wanted to make the switch to stevia and also eliminate the citric acid. I bought some Zevia but was disappointed to find that it has ciric acid also. What a nice change to have the ACV in the tea, kind of like apple juice.

For anyone who is like me and can't handle the taste of the ACV, I just made some:

1L water + 2 packets Lipton Ice Tea to go (1 packet per 500ml) + 1T ACV = VERY GOOD and VERY drinkable!!

Ok, I tried 1 tsp in my tea sweetened with fiberfit (I guess I need to stop using that and just use splenda if the fiber makes yeast worse).
Anyway, I got all hot and flushed when I drank it. I thought, oh $#!??! I am going to die. I mean I got hot. I still feel really warm inside, but I didn't die, LOL! No hives or trouble breathing, so I am hoping I can tolerate this stuff.
I also bought virgin coconut and oil of oregano. Hoping it takes care of my issue.
Anyway, the avc doesn't taste too bad if you can get away from the smell.

Will try to increase the amount slowly, then will add the oil to my egg cream.

Thanks for the help,
Kristin

I don't have any trouble taking it at all. I can drink it straight and just chase it with a little water to wash it on down.

hmm, I think I might have posted too soon. I feel itchy all over now. I don't see hives, but my body is itching beyond belief and I still feel warm???

I was on steroids for 1 1/2 years and know I am loaded with yeast, could this be from die off? Does anyone know the symptoms of die off? Would acv work in an hour or so and start killing stuff? Or am I just allergic to this too?

boy that's quick but not impossible.

Don't take anything when you're detoxing. Let the body work on its own. Subtle assistance with lemons, sylmarin and fiber are one thing but benadryl isn't a good idea if in fact it's die off.

Okay...all you gals got me started on the ACV...I put a tablespoon in some diet iced tea. It tasted like apple cider, well some of the worst apple cider I've ever had but I'm gonna drink it twice a day. If this stuff kills me I'll be back to haunt all of you. Just kidding.

I didn't know that balsamic vinegar was fermented in wood barrels.

How is ACV fermented? Does anyone know if it is in wood?

I used just a half of a tsp. in a large glass of iced tea with lots of ice and it was really pretty good. I've had it several times today and I'm really not hungry. we'll see if THAT continues. Besides, no time to eat cuz I'm peeing all day

I am ok... I still itch, but no hives. My throat feels fine too. I think? A little itchy, but I was having symptoms of thrush for a few days (sort of like my mouth and throat were ripped open by some sharp sucker candy). I do feel tired and my head feels heavy. I guess I am just sensitive. No allergic reaction, so I will keep at this slowly.

I know when I started LC this time I got really sick, sweating, heat flashes, nausea. I am sure that was from the yeast. I guess just adding something more to the mix just set off more die off? I am only guessing. I never had to deal with this before. I am sure it will take a long time to get my body back to normal. (prednisone and plaquenil really do a number on the entire body).

I was just really surprised at how fast my reaction to the ACV was. I guess I should have read the symptoms of die off first, then maybe I wouldn't have scared myself and everyone else so bad.

Sorry, Kristin

Kristin - Did you use Bragg brand? As SJN02 posted above (and I just checked myself,) IT IS AGED IN WOOD!

Since the reaction was so immediate, I really think it might have been an allergic reaction. Seems too quick for die-off.

P.S. Glad you're still with us!

Prednisone: absolutely a reason to be taking Coconut oil, if not AVC (or both...) for candida. Without a doubt.

Do you take Coconut oil? I totally recommend it, especially if you cannot take the ACV. Then keep on the lookout for an ACV you can tolerate.

You will be amazed at what CO will do for your symptoms..

Ok so when I took the ACV a few days ago I did wind up getting serious diarrhea (TMI!) which obviously means I had excess yeast?
How do you know if you have excess yeast? Sorry - I'm a little green in this area...
I've had 2T of ACV today so I'm wondering if I should expect more of this bathroom business!! lol

I know this is an ignorant question, but do boys get Candida?

Yes they do and you can even pick it up from your spouse or partner if they have vaginal yeast infections or thrush. I've read about partners reinfecting (don't know if this is the proper term) each other-a kind of vicious cycle.

Chances are good you do... if you are one of the exceptions, taking ACV and CO will do you more good and no harm

And Jake, yes.. men can get the yeasties too.

If anyone has even been on antibiotics EVER in their life, they probably have candida overgrowth. (same with steroids)

Oh, I read somewhere that baldness can be a symptom of a fungal infection. Fungus = yeast so............

Perhaps when they say the 'bald gene' is passed on from the mother, it is because she passed on some yeast?

Just thinking out loud here as usual... carry on.
