oh you're welcome, enjoy! it would probably keep a couple of months, as long as any other salad dressing, I would think? you could "half" the recipe and feel free to "doctor it up" to suit your taste - I like things REAL vinegary!

for the person who asked how much I'm drinking, I'm not sure. I mix up a gallon of the SF fruit punch, allowing 1 TBL per 8 oz, and adding about 1/2 xylitol, still has a little tang to it but rather nice. I drink 12 oz in the morning, take another 12 oz to work and have another glass or 2 in the evening. I always stir well before pouring just to be sure that it is mixed well.

Anyway, DH has agreed to drink 8 oz every night and see how it goes for 1 week. DD is also going to, although not as cheerfully as her father. LOL.

Will definitely be keeping you all updated.

For those afraid of ACV in pill form(and those who like me who just cannot drink it...I wonder if it is like reflux..the burn is awful) I did find ACV capsules (huge horse size mind you) last night.Claims "No added anything" and is in a pure gelatin capsule.

I know I know about the "mother" but I will say with the exception of cutting out carbs in the daytime(I have complex carbs in the evening) I am now down 7.6 pounds since last Tuesday.

Question for you ACV users... I have been drinking 1 tbs in H20 every morning and every evening. I think I am picking up the energy - not sure yet.... only been a few days, but I do get a little nauseous after drinking this for about an hour. Does this happen to anyone? Any quick cures? I really didn't want to mix it with anything - I just want to "get it over with".

Hi I am allergic to balsamic vinegar and was wondering if I would be allergic to ACV as well. I have a bottle of ACV but never opened it. I do not even know how old it is. I can use regular white vinegar without any allergic reaction. I am just scared to try any other kind. I know I have yeast and would really like to get it under control.

Balsamic is made from grapes and acv obviously from apples. Are you allergic to grapes?

No, I am not allergic to grapes, but I sure am allergic to balsamic vinegar. Hmm, wonder what is in it that causes such a severe reaction.

I might just try a bit of ACV and see what happens. Can balsamic vinegar cause a yeast die off too? Maybe this is what happened to me when I used it. Sorry just thinking out loud again... LOL!!

Other vinegars feed yeast. ACV is the only one that doesn't and is actually anti-yeast.

And balsamic vinegar is produced in a totally different way than ACV. It's reduced from grape juice then fermented and aged in wood casks like whiskey so the wood they use could be a factor.

Are you allergic to wine? You could be having an allergic reaction to the sulfites. Hope the acv works for you.

Oh my gosh, you must be on to something!!! I am allergic to wood! All kinds!! It is one of my worst allergies. Trees, wood floors, anything and everything to do with wood. I can only have painted and sealed wood surfaces in my home. Our floors are solid bamboo. We had to rip out the old floors and put this stuff down, just so I could breathe. I nearly died once , entering a naked furniture store.

I didn't know that balsamic vinegar was fermented in wood barrels.

How is ACV fermented? Does anyone know if it is in wood?
Man, the things you learn on LCF.

Ok, that makes even more sense. I am allergic to sulfites too.

I guess I will live with no ACV in my diet. Between sulfites and wood, I would be dead.

The ACV wouldn't/shouldn't be made in would barrels and wouldn't have the sulfites added to it.

It's just natural fermenting.

It wouldn't be anything like the Balsamic vinegar.

Just do a little "test" With it.

Are you ok with apple juice and/or Apple cider? If so, then the ACV should be fine with you. Like I said, just do a little "Test" with it.

It seems that some ACV is also fermented in wood casks, but I'm betting that modern methods (commercial) might also use stainless steel vessels just for quality control. (?) I don't know that for certain. Wiki is not that clear on exactly how all vinegars are fermented.

If you are doing ok with the Braggs or similar Mother of Vinegar type, then my guess would be that they are not wood-aged or you'd have a similar reaction based on your allergies.

Then again, I could be totally wrong. I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night
