Well, I'm on day 3 of using ACV and even if it doesn't help with weight loss, I'm going to continue it. I feel better, clearer, not as tired. I do think it has qualities that make me more energetic. I don't really weigh myself much anymore cause I'm just sick of it, but will let you all know if my clothes start feeling looser.

I put 2tsp. in ice and water with 2 packets of Splenda and I drink it twice a day.

Hi Guys - I've been reading this thread on and off for a while, and I think I may try the ACV. I'll have to go by our local natural food store and see what brands they have there.

Meek - I read the post in which you said wine gave you sharp twinges under your ear lobes. Sometimes I get similar reactions when I eat something especially sour or sharp. So you are not alone!

I still do it. Portion control and a tbs ACV once or twice a day. As of now, I am down 36lbs. My three month anniversary and weigh in day is October 11th. I hope to be down a total of 40lbs. (crosses fingers).

I do think ACV does help with cravings. No question.

No one else has these cramps? I think I'm going to call it quits on the ACV because I'm not liking the feeling of these cramps and don't know if I should be worried about them or not.

Thank you! I do a little of both. However I do seem to have better results when I drink it before. I think it helps the food metabolize better when its drank before food is consumed. When you drink it after, I think it helps better with water retention.

Those are my experiences. Hope this helps!

Bumping. Still here. Down a little over 51lbs in 4.5 months. Very happy. Still long way to go, but I really believe in the ACV and my all natural multi-vitamin.

hmmmmm very interesting thread. I read about ACV almost 35 years ago in a womans magazine (of course I was just a mere child then ) I took it to work with me in a little Tupperware container to mix in my water at lunch for weight-loss. I didn't know about any vinegar other than what you could buy in the grocery store, so this certainly didn't contain "the Mother". I did that for a couple of months but didn't like smelling like a pickle so quit. I may have to try it again with a natural vinegar!

Whole Foods here in Madison, WI sells Apple Cider Vinegar in tablet form. Any opinions on this version of ACV?

I've been wondering the same thing. The tablets are 250 mg, and the recommended dosage is 1-2 tablets per day. 1 tablet is equivalent to 1.5 tsp ACV. So the recommended dosage seems like a bit less than a lot of people are consuming of the liquid stuff . . . .

^I think the 'mother' in the natural vinegar is where most of the benefits come from. I don't think it's possible to capture the live bacteria in the capsule.

I just got some today...

...and I haven't noticed any benefits yet, but I have noticed that it's yummy!

I crave it, the oddest thing. I put 2 tsp of Bragg acv in a glass full of ice and water, don't know how big it is, but it's large wine glass size, and I put 8 drops of stevia extract in it, about twice what's recommended. It's still sharp, particularly the afternotes, cough cough; )

But it's delicious, and cravable. I can't seem to put it down. I wonder if I've been needing something obscure that's in it?

Does anyone else have this reaction?

Lynne

subscribing..just added 3tsp to my 33oz water bottle tonite. I do know last year when pregnant that I was diagnosed with high blood sugar. When I ate a salad with Mothers ACV the rest of the day my sugar readings were always normal.

Checking back in on this. I have been stalled for 2 weeks and this morning I was a pound lighter. All I did was drink 3tsp in 33 oz of water last night. Right after I had to go a lot but slept all night with no getting up to go problems. So this morning I added 3 more tsp to my bottle of water.

Why not use it in salad dressings instead? The acid might be too much for your stomach. The beneficial enzymes and amino acids are the healing properties of ACV.

I add stevia to my ACV/lemon cocktails and have for several years.

Honey is the old folk remedy addition so Lynn, what was the site of no sugar.... if you don't mind sharing.

By the way, your avi always makes me smile. You are so beautiful and pink is my favorite color!

RealFoodLiving, you may well be a genius! Does the shake taste 'vinegary', or does the flavour of the shake mask it?

This thread was just the nudge I needed. I have fallen off the low carb wagon so badly so I will be starting out with this 1st thing in the morning.

I don't believe that it'll help me to lose any faster (I only wish it would) but if it helps with my bloating and gives me energy that would be great.

Oh and a tip I got from the other site. The acid can be bad for your teeth so drink your elixir however you prep it through a straw . Fortunately, I'm in this habit already cause I don't like drinks staining my teeth.
Does drinking through a water bottle do the same thing for your teeth?

Braggs makes a nice vinagrette dressing. I found it at my local health food store. It's a little pricy at 5.99 but it is made with organic olive oil.

I just bought the Bragg's ACV at Whole Foods after seeing this thread. I just tried 2tsp in my tall glass of ice water. While it wasn't terrible...I think I'll add Stevia next time...
