just use ACV in place of regular vinegar in salad dressings; recipes; etc.

be sure to swish mouth w/ water after you chug ACV or it'll eat the enamel from your teeth!

CONGRATS on the 21 lbs!

I checked-out your blog - nice!

No, you don't have to exercise to lose weight...
BUT, you have a much better chance of getting to goal AND maintaining if you do.

I've done it both ways
Wouldn't have had to do it a 2nd time if I'd exercised the 1st time

of cousrse, a zillion health benefits, too, cause our bodies were designed to move! even walking a half mile or a mile per day is great!

best of luck on your Journey!

Thanks for visiting my blog. I am the exact opposite. The first time around when I lost weight, I exercised about six days a week. I became scale obsessed. This time around, I really have to deal with each layer of my weight issues one at a time. I am in no particular rush. I will exercise though. Just not until I know I can do it and and not over do it and over think it.

When I started my diet, first thing I bought was ACV 500mg tablets. 2x per meal up to 6 tablets a day. Blah. I don't like taking pills. But I just got them out of the pantry and will start. Thanks for the motivation.

Do you shake the vinegar or leave the mother at the bottom? I have been shaking mine before I pour some out.

If I used Apple Cider Vinegar on my salad, would that be helpful for me to reduce my blood pressure?

This thread sold me on trying the apple cider vinegar. Holy crap, how does anyone swallow it? Am I just overly sensitive to the odor / taste? Even in 16 oz. of water. Will refrigerating it help?

I have never taken ACV and don't know anything about it, but if you are pregnant though, you don't want to take something with live organisms in it without checking with your OB first.

It was hard for me at first too. Now I can do 4 tsp. in 16-oz. with a little stevia and lots of ice. I sip it most of the morning. It's rather refreshing to me now! I want to wean off the stevia all together, but baby steps! Hang with it, it's gets oddly addictive!

Ive gotten to the point where I CAN drink it (very diluted in crystal lite) but I much prefer EATING it on salads. You can basically use ACV in any of your salad dressing recipes, I even add a T. to bottled Ranch dressing in a pinch.

I know nothing first hand about the benefits of ACV, but reading the thread convinced me to try. I looked in several local super markets without success. So I ordered a couple of 32 oz bottles from Bragg. I got them
a few days ago and took two tsp. with the same amount of real lemon extract. I mixed this in a 12 oz glass with iced tea and a packet of sweet and low. Not my favorite, but not revolting. I hope to see some of the benefits.

Any info on dosage would be appreciated. The bottle says no calories and no carbs. It cost $8 to ship the two bottles to California.
I am in SO CAL and Whole Foods carries Bragg's..all different sizes...and also the Bragg's drinks in the cold drink section. There is one on Jamboree in Irvine...if you are near there.

Thanks Lynn. I'm in Ontario but have reordered two gallons from Bragg and the price is competetive.

I'm still not sure it does any good, but I don't think it does any harm.

The difference in my life is "night and day" after 50+ pounds lost, Coconut Oil and ACV. Why change?

I have just started taking this again at nighttime for my cramps. I have upped my water to lose more weight and my legs have been cramping in the middle of the night. One spoonful right before bed and wala...no more cramps!! Yay for apple cider vinegar. Yes, I do shake the bottle before I pour/measure out and I also do just chug it in water.

OK bought some Braggs and I've tried it twice, once in iced tea and once in water and it's very tart and bit hard to get used to but I did it however both times it made me quite burpy like with acid indigestion so I stopped trying. What is the best way to avoid this?

Ooh, I don't know. I usually use it when my tummy is upset and it really helps. It seems I have the opposite problem as you!! LOL I really don't have a solution though. I wish someone would pop in and tell you if they had that happen to them.

But til then, maybe you can start slowly taking it--maybe cut the amount down to 1 tsp instead of a TBL and increase the amount slowly?

I've found the best way to drink ACV is to mix it with Diet Ocean Spray Cranberry juice. I also add a packet of Stevia to offset the tart flavor.

I drink mine plain now, with a little lemon, still over ice and find it pretty good! I actually look forward to it. I use 1 tsp. in 16 oz. and drink about 4 of those during the day. I add Lemon mabye to two of those drinks.
I don't have any problems with it that way, but I must dilute it like that or it makes my rosacea flare up a little.

FYI a lady came into our law office who is in her 90s and the attorney asked her what was her secret to staying in good shape for her age. She said she drinks ACV all the time and it was keeping her healthy. She didn't say anything about her weight but was in her 90's! Geez. I asked the other girl what else she said about it, but that was it.

By the way, what do you think is better, drinking it before or after meals? I have seen reports of people doing both or does it not better?

Thanks for pointing that Out, Jonah's Granny!!

aryn12205, it needs to be RAW apple Cider vinegar!!

That's the one that is cloudy with the "Mother" in it.

Braggs is the brand I buy.

ETA: I just looked and Aryn was talking about Braggs with the Mother! *whew*!
Shows you Tooter, I don't read all the details like I should. Yes, Bragg's was mentioned from the beginning

I started back on this yesterday. Before I was only using it sparadically when I remembered. Today going to do it before every meal and once before bed...I think that is what I remembered reading.

OK, I recently started doing the ACV thing. Honestly, I don't really believe it helps with real weight loss - unless it just kills your appetite. But thats just my opinion. I may be wrong. However, I did read that it helps with water retention- and thats something that is a constant problem for me so I decided to give it a try. It does help my water retention. I've been peeing like crazy. HOWEVER, I've been noticing that I'm getting some lower abdomen cramps when I take it. My mother started taking it and noticed this too. Anyone else experience this?
