Thank you lowcarb13 for your suggestion of 2 tablespoons with crystal light lemonade. Day one is half way done and it is not that bad!

Ok, so I started taking ACV yesterday, midday. I took two tablespoons in water. I was pretty sure I noticed an energy increase because I cleaned the house for 2 hours after and I had been exhausted before taking it! But I also thought it could just be in my head. But last night before bed I took it again and I couldn't get to sleep until 1am and I felt like my mind was racing! I finally got to sleep and woke up at 5:30am and felt wide awake. Is this normal? I looked on the web for info and only saw that it was supposed to HELP ppl get to sleep. Why did it have an opposite effect on me? It had to have been the ACV, before I took it I was very sleepy....

I noticed that I had energy too. I was super tired this morning and after I took my first drink of the day I decided to make everyone pancakes and sausage even though I can't have any. I also started laundry. I think it does give me energy, however, I am also one of those people who is seriously controlled by my mind and hearing that it gives energy. But I will take it because I feel great; real or imagined.

ACV is a natural appetite suppressant.

Squisy- I would just avoid taking it before bed if it has that effect on you. Normally it is taken before meals- or diluted and sipped throughout the day.

Very interesting reading, this thread. I bought some Braggs over the weekend and have had several drinks. Love the stuff!

Oh, and while checking out at the store, two clerks were there counting money, and one asked me if I was using it for dietary purposes. When I said hopefully yes , she said she was buying some, too, when she got off work. She has a friend who began drinking it and lost a ton of weight (she didn't say how much, just "a ton"). The girl checking us out double checked the bottle so she could get some after work, too!

I'm using whoever had the lemonade idea. I love it, just hope it helps me lose weight (although the other bennies would be good, too!)

I had been using a different brand but bought the Braggs about a week or so ago. I like the taste better. The other one was supposed to have the mother in it too so not sure why the taste difference.

I was taking ACV every night for leg cramps but it didn't seem to be helping so I stopped. Wonder if that has anything to do with the return of some of my not-so-fun symptoms like joint pain? I think I will add it back in again to see! Thanks for this thread.

My hubby and I really like it in Diet Rite orange soda. We put a couple of capfuls into 2-3 oz of soda and drink it down fast. Not too bad!

Is my ACV the right one ??

Ok, so I went looking for the 'unfiltered' or 'pure' or 'unpasteurised' ACV and I couldn't find any where I live. All of them were the clear or pasteurised variety. The one I finally bought doesn't really say its unpasteurised or unfiltered or pure...well, it kinda says nothin at all :/ The only reason I got is because it has this weird dust thingy thats settled in the bottom and if I shake the bottle up, the vinegar turns cloudy. Do i have the right kind ? The one with the 'mother' in it ? Also, what is the difference benefit-wise between the one that is unfiltered and the normal pasteurised one ?

The best way to tell is if you let it age a bit the 'mother' will get bigger. maybe buy a second bottle and let one age while you use the other one. I'm no expert but I think all the benefits comes from the 'mother's qualities. Without it- it is just as beneficial as any other vinegar. In France- all organic ACV in unfiltered, and raw- though it is not noted on the bottle. maybe got to a health food store and ask about whether their organic ACV is the same.

Yes, that's the right one. Although I'd probably try and find the one labeled organic, unpasteurized, "with the mother" on the label just to be sure you've got the best one. You can order it online if you can't locate it at a health food store or your grocery store.

I am still drinking this -- BRAGGS ACV w/the mother. I think over the past month, I have lost between 18-20lbs. Feel great!

-- I take 1-2tblspoons immediately before or after my meal w/water.
-- I am on portion control (no specific plan). Between 1500-1600 calories per day

been choking it down for a couple weeks and I dont feel any different besides the obvious running to the bathroom due to its direutic properties. I don't feel like its helped me to lose any weight, but I am going to continue to drink the rest of the bottle...

I am glad I found this post. I forgot about ACV. I started drinking it again now. I notice more energy and weight loss. I use Braggs, Trader Joes and I also found some on Swansons Vitamin site that is under $2 a bottle. I all works the same for me.

If I mix it with ice tea can I take it to work and have it at lunch or do you need to drink it right away?

I just drank my first dose of ACV! I put 3 capfulls into 1/2 cup of diet peach green tea. It wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. It was like apple cider in a way. I'll bring some with me to work and drink it before lunch.

I bought a small bottle of Spectrum ACV that has the mother in it to keep at work. I have a gallon jug of Bragg's at home. Has anyone used Spectrum and Bragg's and can you tell any difference?

I am still at it. I have been doing portion control Since around July 11th. Took 8 days off about a week ago. IN the past 5 weeks I have lost around 21lbs. Feels good, but still taking it one day at a time. I do notice a bit of a difference if you take it before you eat and not after

Hmmmm. I found an old boyfriend on FB who looked superfine, just like he did in high school at his fighting weight. When I asked about it, apple cider vinegar every day was one of the secrets he disclosed to me. Oh and of course running miles every day but I decided to ignore that advice since I am rather lazy

Maybe I'll give it a try, that and coconut oil...
