Really everything I've read is that to get the maximum benefit you should take 1 or 2 TEASPOONS before each meal. So when I drank it as a "cocktail" I did 2 teaspoons ACV, 8 ounces water, 1 packet splenda then ice and I drank it through a straw. I am going to try that again before dinner tonite.

Headed off to keep reading your Journal!
I haven't been posting on my journal lately, but plan on getting back into it. Thanks for reading.

The reason I was doing 2 Tbs was because I'm starting an exercise program in a week and one of the things she mentioned was doing ACV drinks twice a day and she said to do 2 Tbs in 4-8 oz of water. I just don't think (no, the way I was gagging, I know I can't) I can do that. Maybe I can handle the teaspoons though. Will give it a try.

I noticed the spectrum brand is unpasteurized but the braggs bottle doesn't specifically say whether it is or not. Does anyone know or does it even matter?
I love this stuff have been putting a Tbl in a water/splenda sweetened black cherry soda mixture with ice. Very refreshing.

I do 2 splashes, about 2 tbsp probably, in a big bottle of water w/ splenda and splash of crystal light lemonade. Working for me. I do it twice a day, not sure I could squeeze in a third dose. Cool your trainer recommended it. Let us know how it goes.

Quick question:

I really enjoy adding a couple of tablespoons to a small amount of Coke Zero. It gives it a nice lemony taste! Does anybody know if the soda can kill the microorganisms in the ACV, or is it probably okay since the vinegar itself is so acidic?

Here is what they say on the Bragg's web site:

Question: Why is ACV not pasteurized

Answer: Pasteurization is the heating process intended to remove potential problem bacteria from consumable liquids such as milk, juices etc. However, this process will also remove delicate nutrients and enzymes that may constitute a major portion of the food value of that consumed. In the case of Bragg’s Raw Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, pasteurization would eliminate the "mother", a major health giving factor of our vinegar

Question: Since Apple Cider Vinegar is unpasteurized, is it protected from E.Coli bacteria?

Answer: Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar does not carry the E.Coli bacteria as the acidity in the vinegar is effective in killing the 0-157 strain of E.Coli bacteria.

Day 2. Having it in my Honey/lemon/ginger green tea this morning, not as huge of a mug today so I didn't quite use a whole tablespoon. I really like the kick the ACV gives it. No one else in the house will go near it!

Scale says I'm down 2 pounds from yesterday but I fasted yesterday as well. I don't claim the loss until I see it a few times so we'll see where I am in a week.

Officially day 1 for me: I had mine with water flavored very lightly with crystal light. I had a teaspoon in 8 oz of water. I had to slam it down. I sure hope it gets easier. I'll have another glass in a bit before I eat lunch and try to have one before dinner.

I aim to get more in a glass, but so far just can't stomach it.

Tina, are you using a bit of Stevia too, or perhaps more Crystal light? If you like apple cider, you might try it in the SF Apple flavored drink mix or apple-flavored tea. For me, it just seems to give a little extra zing, but not vinegar-y, and I'm using almost a tablespoon in a big mug.

We all have different tastes but I don't think more Stevia would be a bad thing.

I'm still showing the 2-pound loss this morning with my normal eating day yesterday. Here's hoping it sticks!

Thanks for the compliment Sooz!!

I'm down four pounds in one week on ACV. I've lost 22 now since 1/1 but I haven't lost four pounds in one week since I started induction three years ago!

I can't say for sure that it's entirely the ACV but I'm not changing anything!! Two weeks ago I started intensifying my work outs but didn't have any weight loss the 1st week of that. I've been doing all liquids every Monday for five weeks now but was still only averaging one pound loss a week.

Whatever it is, I'm happy!

I was up a bit when I first started taking ACV. I'm now down .2 less then my lowest weight. YAY! I started with ACV only a few days ago. I can stomach 2 TBS in 8 ounces of crystal light flavored water.

boyfriend would also do well with probiotics....

I opened my gallon of braggs the other day to refill my bottle and my mother is turning into a huge SCOBY! I can make kombucha out of it too

The minerals in ACV are awesome. Alkalizing the body helps and it feels so good too!

I do 2 Tablespoons 3 times a day. It is hard at first, but it gets easier. I mix it with with 8 oz of crystal light.

My crystal light is not full strength. I use one of those drink mix things and put it in 64 oz of water.

Edited to add: since I've been doing the ACV - I've lost 6 pounds. Im doing a couple things different, so I don't know exactly what the cause is, but I'm not stopping anything...lol. I am doing the vinegar, exercising (kettlebells) I am doing a different plan (added in a fruit a day and more veggies) I think it's mostly the vinegar and exercising though.

Great Tina!!

I'm down 6 pounds too, seems to have slowed a bit this week but that's ok, holding steady.

I noticed in some previous posts that acne was an issue...well it's started with me, on my chin. I'm used to a few here and there but have FOUR on my chin now...I don't know what to do...can't use many of the acne products and nothing has worked previously. Latest edition being the tea tree stuff but no luck yet. I just hope this is a temporary side effect while things "normalize."

Back down a lb today and feel great. Not as hungry, more in control of my eating and have more energy. I do 2 tbs in water/crystal light twice a day, when I remember :ablush: Everyone does it slightly differently. Take it slow and build up to it. I don't love it, but I do like the results enough to stick with it .

OK...so I did 3 doses (1tablespoon) yesterday. I'm down .8 today...my weight fluctuates...so until I see it for a couple days I don't count it!

Question...I was SWEATING in my sleep last night. Does this happen with ACV? Or just a coincidence?

I haven't noticed any difference in sweating or not, so I'm thinking coincidence, but that's JMO.

I do 2 tablespoons a day, one each in my mugs of apple cider herbal tea. I did three Tbl yesterday and was at 206.2 this morning, hoping for 205 tomorrow!

Thanks for the suggestion Enola but I can't use anything with benzyl peroxide which I know is the active ingredient in two of the bottles of proactiv. I'll have to look into the mask. I have two boxes of the stuff around here for the boys and I'm pretty sure they aren't using any of it.

I didn't have any "sweating" issues with the ACV but I have heard of that with people just starting coconut oil. Perhaps the increased metabolism is what's causing the sweating.

Down another .8 this morning. Can this really be??? It is also my TOM...so I'm blown away that the scale has moved. But it's only been two days...I always fluctuate...so after a week...we will see

I am doing 1 Tablespoon in Crystal Light Lemonade...3 times a day. I'm going to try to up it to 2 Tablespoons 3 times a day...just need time to get used to it.

I didn't sweat in my sleep last night...must have just been a coincidence!

Sometimes I have night sweats related to TOM.
