Hydrochoric acid

Does anyone have any experience using this as a digestive aid?

I took it for a while. I quit after about a month because I started having an upset stomach. This probably indicated I didn't need it any more. As an alternative, you I could use apple cider vinegar.

Hi -
Apple Cider Vinegar? I have heard it helps people lose weight. I thought it was an "old wives tale". I am bloated and not losing - are there anygreat supplements?
Thanks Kate

Some people, especially as they get older, don't make enough stomach acid to properly break down food. So supplementing with an acid, like HCL or Apple Cider Vinegar, helps. But you have to experiment on dosage. Too much will give you a stomach ache.

I used to take HCA to help breakdown the food in my stomach, because it was causing me to become naucious and get horrible acid reflux. But I couldn't take it everyday, because it made my stomach feel weird. Like the other post above mine, I was told about Apple Cider Vinegar.

It's supposed to be really beneficial to your health. I just bought a bottle of a brand called Braggs over the weekend. I've only been taking it for a few days, but so far, so good. Here's the article about Apple Cider Vinegar, you should check it out.

Good Luck.

how about just an apple a day - seriously, i've heard its just as effective so i've been trying to eat one after every meal ( i hate it when they're mushy) or adding a splash of vinegar to my salad or vegetables so its not too much to upset my stomach

I've used it and cant' really tell very much difference. Less gas is about all. Digestive enzymes work better. They keep me from getting bloated.

I take an HCL capsule (along with digestive enzymes) with every meal. It really helps with the digestion and absorption of nutrients. Supposedly blood type A's tend to be low on stomach acid.

experiment by taking one with a meal, if you experience burning then you probably have enough acid. if you dont, then you can increase the dose to 2 caps with your next meal and see if you experience burning then, if you do, go back to one cap.

i think its super important to have enough stomach acid- without it the stomach cannot do its job properly and this causes all sorts of deficiencies and disease.
