I got a crazy Idea! I don't know if the CLA/GLA has a flavor or not, but I may prick my capsules and add them to my coconut bark. I haven't gotten tired of THAT yet! Hahahaha Since it is an oil also it seems it would blend right in. Oiv got some liquid bark waiting to be be frozen, I think Oil add the CLA tuit und see ow it tastes!

Hmm, that was strange. I had half a batch of cocoa bark syrup left so I put all four of the CLA caps and 2 of the the GLA caps in. and added a bit more cocoa, (since it was too sweet to begin with) Froze it and tasted it. It tasted the same. There wasn't as much snap to it as with 100% C.O.
I have no problem with the mouthfeel of coconut oil, but there was a sorta unpleasant oily residue in my mouth after eating a few pieces. And it also felt like my throat was irritated. I chugged a couple of gulps of milk to wash it down and was fine. Hmm, I don't know if I want to mess with my bark like that. I am like the Oily Grease Queen and that bothered me a bit. I may have been that I tasted some bacon a little bit before and it was fat overload. I still have a few pieces left. I'll try them tomorrow morning and let you know how it turns out. Getting tired of the pills I may invest in the Clarinol Liquid, but if it feels as gross as this did I'd be disappointed. |

Okay....I got some rather good news today from my doctor.
As far back as I can remember I've had an irregular heart beat, that means my would skip a beat or add an extra one during it's beating rhythm. This morning I had to get some lab work done to check my thyroid levels and my doc said that it is now drumming to a normal beat! I'm just wondering why after all this time is it now acting normal. I thought my irregular heart beat was normal! Anyway by all means I'm not complaining. Just wondering if it could be all the freakin cardio I've been doing or maybe the combo has something to do with this. My positive thoughts about being healthy possibly? Hmmmm.

chic, That is Wondeful news !!! Your positive attitude has some to do with it I would think. Did you ask him about the cla/gla?
metqa, Have you tried the 1200mg cla caps? you only need 3 aday. Thats what I prefer now (when I rememeber to take them) I have been reading about a new cla called c9,t11 Conjugated Linoleic Acid...interesting !!! Do a search and see what y'all think Presented by a group of scientists from Norway, the study showed that in humans, 3,000 mg of c9,t11 Conjugated Linoleic Acid taken daily could bring about an average 20.2% reduction in bodyfat, including a significant reduction in abdominal fat. Hey Awesome Chic! Is that something that normally fixes itself? I mean wow.
Trish, Well, I haven't found a CLA capsule that is that high with actual CLA. Hold on let me check my chart . . . According to the nutrition labels . . . Netrition's Brands: Horizon only has 740 CLA/cap, Kaizen has 800, Natrol is unspecified, Max CLA is 700, Now is 800/cap. The highest is clarinol liquid which is 3500 per dose. Puritan Prides Brand Tonalin Varies from 780-840 per cap so it technically (could have) has the highest dose of CLA per Oil Capsule. The amount of oil is the capsule is not the same as the volume of CLA. Most of the time the CLA is a percentage of the contents around 70 - 80% of the oil contained. All of these would require at least 4 capsules and still be below below optimum (3500mg) , or 5 capsules and be way over. The Max CLA ,with 5 capsules, would only be 100 grams over dosage, whereas all the others are 300 - 800 mg off either under or over dosage. Puritan's Pride Tonalin with 4 capsules would only be 40 mg under dosed( if you assume 84% CLA per 100mg capsule), so I take that one. Wishful Thinking I suppose. I found the Tonalin 1200, but while the label says it is 2000g of oil, the italic print says 78-84% Conugated Linoleic Acid . . .2000 x 84% / 2 capsules is only 840mg CLA per capsule . . . Sorry . . . Yeah, I'm a geek and actually compared this crap. . . . BTW I heard of that New CLA but I lost the page, gotta go look it up again. It sounded really COOL! Thanks Mikki....didn't know you had something like this too! Really glad you don't have the irregular thing anymore. It used to freak out all the nurses who would check my heart. I'd end up getting cardio grams (i think that's what they are called) only to be told it was normal for me. Stay healthy! Gotta head out for another training session at the fight school. Here is what i found on it......
C9 T11 Review Summary C9 T11 The diet industry is currently bombarded with products that make outrageous claims and promises. The dietary supplement C9-T11certainly seems to fall into this category. Not only does the manufacturer appear to claim that it can lead to a 700% gain in lean muscle mass, but there also seems to be a great deal of buzz made over the exclusive and rare ingredients found in the formula. In our experience, however, products that appear to be too good to be true often end up being just that. People who think this supplement may lead to ripped, cut muscles may very well be disappointed. Nonetheless, we will take a closer look at this formula to see what results it may provide. Ingredients At A Glance While C9-T11 seems to advertise itself as a miracle product containing very “secret” ingredients, from what we can tell, it may be little more than a Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) supplement. This ingredient may have received a great deal of press lately, with purported abilities of potentially eliminating body fat while increasing muscle mass. Current research, however, seems to indicates that it may have little effect on body fat. Furthermore, the muscle-increasing results of this ingredient may be significantly exaggerated by the makers of C9-T11. Ingredients In Focus If this product does not contain any more ingredients, than we are not confident that it may lead to its advertised results. As mentioned, CLA may provide some dietary benefits, but it has not been shown to generate the gains in muscle mass that this company may claim. Furthermore, we feel this supplement may have little to no effect on body fat. To get truly ripped and defined, a reduction in body fat is often needed to make muscles more visible. Consumers interested in supplementation should look into a formula that actually contains a fat burner to assist in producing this kind of result. We suggest the patented Advantra Z™, an ingredient shown to not only boost metabolism levels but also increase and sustain overall energy. This increased energy may also help in the gym and during lifting sessions. Website The C9-T11 product website appears to be full of seemingly outrageous claims and assertions. This company may cite real medical and sport journals, but it seems to misrepresent the information found in these publications. In fact, on the top of the product website, in bold, there appears to be the statement that users of this supplement may “Gain 700% more muscle in 7 weeks.” The company then appears to cite an article in Medical and Science in Sports and Exercise as their source for this rather outrageous claim. We find it hard to believe that such a reputable source would make such a claim, so when we looked up this article, we were not surprised to find that the conclusion for this cited study stated, “Supplementation with CLA during resistance training results in relatively small changes in body composition.” This may be the biggest warning available for products, such as C9-T11, that make outrageous claims. We strongly encourage potential customers to do their research prior to purchasing any product that seems to make claims that simply appear too good to be true. Positives • Product website posted online • Product may currently be reduced in price Negatives • Formula may lack a patented fat burner • Price may be relatively expensive • Manufacturer appears to make unlikely promises and claims • Product website may falsely cite research journals Final Thoughts In the end, we feel that C9-T11 may be little more than a scam. The product’s formula merely appears to contain CLA, which is a popular ingredient on the market that may be found in supplements for less than half the price of this product. Furthermore, we do not feel anyone should trust a manufacturer that appears to make unbelievable claims, all the while attempting to support their statements by potentially misrepresenting studies in research journals. We feel a company that would use such a marketing tactic would also not hesitate to sell a product to consumers that does not perform as advertised. |

help, i dont get the math here. if were trying to get 84% of 2000 wouldnt that be much more than 840 per capsule? even 84% of 1200 is more than that (1000) are we talking about the natrol brand? should i be taking 4 pills per day to equal around 4,000mg per day instead of 3,000? |

You are right that 84% or 1200 is 1008, but the Natrol brand that said 1200 claimed to have a proprietary blend of CLA and other oils. So it is not pure CLA, so it is not 1200mg of CLA. theres no way to know how much of it is actual CLA. Since it is the top ingredient it is probably as potent as the lesser percentages of other brands, but without knowing, it would be guess work. I suppose you could take 3 and if you see no results increase to 4. It's splitting hairs really. But I got interested in the actual doses after seeing a product calling itself CLA Extreme, but it had much less CLA and a bunch of other ingredients instead. |

Yeah, when I think of tones, I think of nice music. But I can seem to get the nicely toned body I want . . .maybe I'm tone deaf!
Well, I just had another two pieces of the Cocoa Bark with CLA/GLA oil added . . . and it definitely irritates my throat. I guess I'm back to the capsules. It's not so bad taking the caps I just tend to forget, and that is a lot of caps to forget. I start my morning taking aminos which means I have to delay eating by 30 min , then I forget to eat, which means I forget to take the combo, then it gets late in the day and waah waah, it's time for bed, game over. ![]() I have been on and off and I haven't measured in ages. I have been wearing pants that I couldn't before so I that's good, but I could do better. I've started the onehundredpushup challenge for myself. BF thinks I can't do it, or shouldn't. ( See ? That's me attempting push ups. just rolling about . . .![]() |

Chic - Great news!!!!! I knew you could do anything! You proved it! You truly are a special little someone!
Metqa - I agree. I just want to be firm, lean, and in shape again!! Also, please don't eat any more of that bark! I know for sure it burns one's throat. I found out over and over again. . .it burns it bad! I know taking a lot of horse pills ain't so fun, but pricking those bad boys ain't the answer!! Mikki - Uuuuuuuhm, about Callan. Don't wanna kill ya, so forget what I said about doing Callan!! ![]() Trish - Did you meat MG while you were on vacation? You may have mentioned it already, and I missed it. I was just curious. chic, the site I saw it on was fireyourfat dot com / diets. Does seem too good to be true lol
metqa, thanks for all the info. I am terrible at figuring out that stuff. I'm going to up my cla to 4 caps a day. nurseypoo5, your very welcome. I've missed posts myself before when the thread moves quickly. I'm glad to see it picking up again. I got my hair done the other day and one of the ladies there was talking to a client about suppliments. She said she was taking something called Ultimate Energy and how good it made her feel with lots of energy. I asked her about it and she gave me a sample to try. Then she was telling me about how bad splenda was for you and suggested I try SweetOne. They sell it in packets at Krogers, so I'm going to try it since I have been reading about splenda being bad for you. Anyone else heard of SweetOne and use it ???? Now this lady that was telling me about it works there, and shes been working at the gym too for 6 years and is a school teacher !!! She asked me how old I thought she was and I said mid 50's and they all laughed. She is almost 70 !!!!! She said its from clean eating and taking the right suppliments. ADLMA. no we didnt get to meet MG. We were running late and she lives further that we thought. Hopefully next trip we will have time to detour and meet her. I hope so anyway. Shes a cool lady. |
