Thrisha.....How did the mowing go yesterday? Did it take long to mow all that land? Maybe you should have borrowed Phil's tractor. Or just had him come over and do it for ya since he likes that thing so much!

Pretty cool that some of the purchase price went to breast cancer research. ![]() I was up a couple pounds this morning. No big deal. I'm expecting a better weigh in tomorrow. I'm tired! |

Hi everyone! I'm in TN...got here yesterday.
Marsha - I went by Cookeville at 2:18 p.m. I kept telling DH to look for Cookeville signs. I thought about you so much yesterday. What kind of plants did you buy? I'm going to buy veggie plants when I get home. I usually plant tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, zucchini and summer squash. I can only plant 1 zucchini and 1 squash because I don't have that much room. MG and Trish - I'm jealous that I can't meet up with you both and I so would have loved to meet up with Marsha, but I'm sure she was working. Chic - I love your pink boxing gloves! ADLMA - I can't wait to get back to Callan when I return to PA. My ribs only hurt if I touch the exact spot, so they are finally getting better. I wanna have a great bod like Marsha! We will get home late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. Phil - My brother-in-law has a John Deere like that. Nice! Kathy - How are you feeling lately? Paula - I went on Nintendo website and it says Wii Fit will be out May 21. Cool beans. Mikki - I must confess that once the weather gets warmer, I am outside more than I am inside and thus I am on the computer less. Metqa - Happy Cinco De Mayo (Did I spell that correctly?) Hi to everyone I have mentioned individually.

I am planting peppers ( green sweet and red sweet and some jalepeno, and banana), okra, tomatoes, canteloupe, squash, and those little babay tomatoes. I am swamped this week at work or I would have took off to meet you Michelle. This our first big week back busy. I have a huge install to do and that helps on my pay when I do big jobs. Maybe next time I can catch up with you!! |

Thanks Phil, Michele and Trisha and everyone else who posted their likes for enjoying the gloves with me. I really do enjoy working out at MA gym. I was telling Denise earlier that not only has it boosted my fitness routine, it has really helped me out with confidence. I leave the gym feeling invinceable!
Phil....pink toolbelt??? Not me but maybe Mikki might have one! Whether it's pink or not may be a different story! LOL |

Metqa - Yeah, that nature thing and herbs. . .I just gotta keep mine inside! I do have the tomatoes, peppers, snaps, okra, squash, and a few onions for good measure are all outside. Slugs seem to leave that stuff alone.
Chic - I get the ole surgery done on May 23. Hopefully, my tumwa will have a whole new outlook on life and allow me to enjoy my chow a little better! Then, I will get back on the Combo. I will Callan right up to the date of surgery, then I am supposed to stop for 3 weeks! YIKES! You are going to love this my DD (10) said you look like a little Barbie! You are so tiny! I gotta a feeling you may be tiny, but you are mighty! I love those gloves!!!Trish - If your bags feel just a little more heavy than usual, don't get concerned. It is just me being a stowe away! Huuuumm, I can spell vacation, but I don't know what one is. RTFL!MMof2 - I sure hope you and Callan can reunite! It does take a while to mend, so don't rush it! I know you want to be all better soon. Take good care of you! Mikki - Do you think we can find some LC cookie dough? I love the stuff! I have not had it in a while and I miss it! Your photo doesn't look like you have pudge anywhere! You're gonna have to give in to that Callan Bug -- Get on that train! Get on the Callan Train! (The Gap Band -- I fixed the words for them.) ![]() |

Marsha - It would have been so great to meet up with you but I understand about working. Maybe next time. Sounds like we are planting much of the same veggies. I had loads of banana peppers last year, as well as green and red peppers. I love cantaloupe but I don't have the room to plant it.
Paula and Trish - My DH said that if you pre-order from Wal-Mart, you get a $10 gift card to use at Wal-Mart. Cool. ADLMA - I LOVE raw cookie dough and have eaten it all my life. I actually prefer the raw dough over the baked cookies. Have a good day everyone....I have to finish packing and cleaning with DD. |

Michelle, Lilly, and ADLMA - I can't bring myslelf to cut any thing so I will be growing 6 zucchini this year, surrounded by oregano, marigold and petunia, and I have a bunch of Tomato volunteers from dropped fruit from last year. So I have 3 transplants and a ton of little baby tomato plants, I sprinkled basils seeds beneath the transplants so I hope to have basil next to my tomatoes. I have two peppers with marigolds, petunias and oregano planted around them. And pickle cucumbers with nasturtiums, marigold, petunia, and impatiens and, as soon as I can sprout 'em, Sunflowers. I working on a companion planting scheme of inter-planting. And it is all in pots.
Mikki - Pillsbury, for one hot second, had sugar free cookie dough in the refrigerated section . I think there were Chocolate chip and sugar cookie or Peanut butter. But I haven't seen them in at least a year. The Chocolate chip cookies were really good. Maybe we can write em to see if they still offer it?

metqa - Did you tell her we need, and I do mean NEED LC cookie dough?!
Your garden sounds lovely and functional! I forgot to mention I have cucs too. I have some speghetti squash too. My DD decided to do little experiment and planted seeds from one we bought. Much to my shock, they are up. It is a pretty plant. I am not sure if it will be viable or not. I am just surprised they came up. The bad thing is. . .I can't say I was in love with the squash. Maybe I'll like it more mixed in with some creamy yellows? My biggest thing is who is gonna win -- the milk thistles or me? (So far, they got it hands down. They frighten me.)![]() |

Hey, If you can manage to harvest those milk thistles, you could sell them as an allergy supplement! Spaghetti squash is fun to eat, but a hassle to prepare. It is great with a cream sauce or just butter and basil with salt. I don't pretend it is pasta though. I have Dreamfields for those times. I have collected seeds from bell peppers and grown them too. When I get everything together I send a photo.
She was pretty deadpan about the cookie dough. "Do you still make the Sugar free cookie dough???" "No. . . . . . . . . ." " Um, Thank you" Maybe we could eat one of KevinPa's Recipes. I'm about to make some oopsies, in my attempt at further procrastination. I really want a hamburger but I need a bun. I guess I don't but I want one. |

Metqa - I did not find ooopsies as a good substitute. It left me wanting, and I just could not get past that odd texture.
I hope it works for ya! Yeah, hamburgers just are not the same without the "bun". I know Trish likes them a lot (ooopsie rolls). I tend to use the flax seed tortillias MMof2 posted a while back by her friend Juniper. I guess the secret is not to consider things as "substitutes" but let them have their own identity. I considered the speghetti squash just that, as squash, but I still could not get past the texture of that either. I wonder if I am a pickey eater. Wonder how one harvests milk thistles??Last edited by ADLMA : 05-06-2008 at 10:46 AM. |

Spaghetti squash if really funny, It tastes just like vegetable. I happen to really like squash so it is a pleasant diversion from half moon shaped squash, or mushed squash. I don't think i would ever serve it with meat sauce as I don't usually eat regular squash like that either. I'm picky too but I can really punish myself by eating nothing but one thing all week from sheer laziness![]() I don't know about harvesting Milk Thistle but the stuff in the store is "FREEZE DRIED" seems like a special technique. Hope the pod people in your garden don't take over ![]() |
