Hey everyone...

Thanks for the concerns, comments and advice about my "pill regimen". I will try to answer the questions first:

--Why so many? It isn't a matter of "so many" or "how many can I take?" for me, it's "will this help me or not?" Some things--the multi, vitamin C, chromium, carnitine, glucosamine, fish oil, fiber, coenzyme q-10, digestive enzymes, probiotics, vitamin E, garlic--I have been taking for years and years, each for the obvious reasons. The rest of the list is mostly amino acids and the CLA/GLA combo--things generally recommended for fat burning, muscle building and retention, and/or sugar metabolism. The 5-htp I am taking for its mood elevating qualities.

--I am not on a liquid diet, though sometimes I will skip a meal and have an Atkins shake. I am interested in doing a week-long liquid fast, and I am thinking I might be able to do it without slowing my metabolism if I use the coconut oil properly.

--Doctor recommended? No, not necessarily "recommended" but my doc is aware of the things I am taking and didn't see anything potentially harmful. If there is something on the list that is worrisome, I certainly would like to know the concerns.

--Charcoal? This was recommended to me by a supplement specialist at the health food store--I was looking at detox teas and such. She also suggested that the charcoal was useful against candida overgrowth, so I decided to give it a try. I thought that the charcoal specifically absorbed toxins...and didn't think it might absorb the things I am trying to ADD to my system. So I have to rethink that--thanks for the heads-up!

Thank you all!

Bill

I have been on the combo for 2 months, Im just starting my 3rd month. I havent really seen the results that you guys have been seeing. Should I still continue? My weight loss is still stalled. What happens if I just continue with the GLA and drop the CLA? or vice versa

Heya KAthy!!!
I am praying for a good outcome to your surgery! Please keep us updated. I'm so sorry your pain has increased, please take gentle care of you.

Thycke: BTW, I really love your avi!! You are one pretty gal!! Ummm, to be honest, I have NEVER seen the results from the combo that others talk about. But, I keep pressing on. Maybe it's helping someplace waaaaay down. LOL! Personally, I think that the Combo needs to be partnered with Acetyl-L Carnitine to be at its best. You may want to consider adding that if you don't have it already.

Also, if you are exercising and taking the Combo, you may not see the scale move. But you SHOULD see some inches lost. Are you doing Callanetics?
Are you seeing any body results?

Kathy....thank you!!! I'm so sorry to hear you are in so much pain. Hoping you will be free of it and feel better very soon.
Would love to hear about you getting back into doing 5Ks. You'll be there soon, I'm sure of it.

Time to get back to eating healthy again. Inlaws are visiting so of course we hit every yummy restaurant and ice cream place in town. Not sure if I'm going low carb or sticking to low fat this time. Hmmmmm.

Have a great day everyone!

Thanks!! I dont have Acetyl-L Carnitine. I actually never heard of it nor know what it does. but yes I am doing Callanetics and working on my form. My results so far are more flexibility, stronger neck. I feel much stronger, my tummy and waist is coming along nicely. Nothing for legs/behind(need this the most) yet but they do feel stronger. I also do Cardio 3x a week. Before it was 5x(45min each) a week but I think that was a lil too much because my body was always fatigue. so basically im doing callan 5x a week and cardio 3x a week. I also and starting to throw in a 10 minute arm exercise here and there

Yup, Spring is here. We have been in a Tornado watch since 5:00 or so. We have had a bunch of funnel clouds in our county and a couple comfirmed tornados on the ground but nothing close to my place. I have been listing to weather spoters, police, ems, and fire deptments from 5 countys around the county I live in on my scanner.

Now get this...tornados in S.E. and winter weather watch in N.W. Iowa. Ya gotta love Iowa.

Crap! I got so caught up in watching the weather that I didn't eat this evening. Better go grab some grub!

Take care!
Phil
