Fat vs. Muscle

Hey guys, I wanted to post this picture that clearly defines how much more dense muscle is than fat by volume. Amazing...

I like the puritan CLA, as well. It's tonalin, too! And it says 70% to 80% is CLA on my bottle of tonalin.

Well the scale not moving for me but im muscling up. So yep Denise muscle more dense than fat by a long shot but dont get discouraged by no scale movement cause you can get muscles in place fat was present.

Mikki Thank you Sooooo much for this site!! Amazing diff in $$
Now I'll be able to afford not only cla/borage for a month...but also the Virgin Coconut Oil I've been taking ($90. for 1 gallon pal). On this site the VCO is only in 16oz containers, but 8 will equal a gallon at only $47.76
Thank you a thousand times over

Niiiiiiiiceeeeeeeee calf development, Marsha! I bet you look hawt in a pair of heels! You go girl!

Hey, have any of you guys heard of the connection between CLA and guarana? Dr. Di Pasquale cites a study in which a group of rats were split into three groups. One was the control, the next was given CLA and the next were given CLA plus Guarana. At the end of the study both the CLA and the CLA/guarana group had significantly reduced fat mass but the CLA/guarana group also had a a decreased number of fat cells. This is huge! All evidence points to being able to decrease the size of fat cells with diet and exercise but no way to decrease the fat cells in number has been conclusively defined.

Anywho, wanted to share the info. Of course, guarana is a part of my homemade "fat burner" blend LOL

Be very careful with guarana as it is bad for people with high blood pressure or cardiac issues. Its a stimulant like caffeine. I had a co worker almost kill herself taking that in diet pill form.

metqa, no contrary'ness taken lol. good point there. I didn't even notice that. I may add an extra cap. I'll try to find their e-mail and ask them how much actual cla is in it.

Laurie, I just added the coconut oil caps from Netrition. I just cant eat the oil ewwww

Marsha, when I walk, the muscles in the front of my lower legs get really big instead of the back. My PT said she never saw that happen before, It looks weird

Denise, I just read that article somewhere. Interesting. Thanks for sharing the fat/muscle comparison pic

Poor baby! Sadly, many stimulants are abused; even coffee! So far, no issues with guarana for me. I was worried because I'm terribly sensitive to caffeine and the only reason I've built my own fat burner is because those on the market make me jittery.

All the same, my blend has been great with no jitters. And I'm able to sleep like a baby at night. Even immediately taking the blend. Of course, I'm healthy with great numbers. All others are encouraged, of course, to seek medical approval.

Are you doing standing calf exercises, too?

Also, is anyone taking Fucothin from Garden of Life along with the CLA combo? I'm interested in burning some excess fat from the gut. I don't take either at the moment except Eden's Apple Cider Vinegar shot twice daily.

Hi everybody...sorry to have been lurking so long without having much to say. I have a huge amount of weight to lose, but I am not weighing or measuring, beyond how my clothes fit. I am trying to focus on feeling better.

So here's my supplement routine:

MORNING
(sometimes with a big breakfast, sometime very light--strictly meat/eggs/cheese)
---3g coconut oil
--500mg cinnamon
--5g psyllium husk
--3g glucosamine/condroitin/MSM combo
--1 tab multi-enzymes
--500mg l-tyrosine
--3.6g omega 3 fish oil
--260g activated charcoal
--1.5g vitamin C
--500mg l-glutamine
--5000mcg biotin
--500mg acetyl l-carnitine
--200mcg chromium picolnate
--300mg alpha lipoic acid
--800IU vitamin E
--1g l-taurine
--830mg liquid amino blend
--1 tablet complete one vitamin (puritan's pride)
--1g garlic oil
--1 tablet greensource (puritan's pride)
--1g l-lysine
--200mg co q-10
--200mcg selenium

Before lunch:
--800 mg hoodia
--1 multi enzyme tab
--1 caplet probiotic blend

WITH LUNCH (usually meat & veggies and salad)
---2g coconut oil
--500mg cinnamon
--5g psyllium husk
--3g glucosamine/condroitin/MSM combo
--500mg l-tyrosine
--2.4g omega 3 fish oil
--260g activated charcoal
--1.5g vitamin C
--500mg l-glutamine
--5000mcg biotin
--500mg acetyl l-carnitine
--200mcg chromium picolnate
--300mg alpha lipoic acid
--800IU vitamin E
--1g l-taurine
--830mg liquid amino blend
--1g garlic oil
--1 tablet greensource (puritan's pride)
--1g l-lysine
--200mg co q-10

AT BEDTIME (on an empty stomach)
--960mg GLA (4g borage oil)
--4g CLA (5g tonalin softgels)
--1 multi-enzyme tablet
--400mg co q-10
--1 multi-enzyme tablet
--99mg potassium
--1g acetyl l-carnitine
--260 mg activated charcoal
--500mg l-methionine
--400mcg GTF chromium
--200mg 5-htp
--1g l-glutamine

Some of these things I have been taking a long time, some are recent additions. I have had success with chromium and with l-carnitine (I think the carnitine is essential to maximize the effectiveness of the cla/gla combo).

I think it's important to remember that everybody's chemistry is different, so we can't all expect the same results from...anything.

I know absolutely that I jerked my metabolism around so much with the low-carb/carb-binge cycle, that my results with the same eating habits are greatly slowed. I am especially looking for ideas and suggestions for getting past stalls.

Denise, I think I will add some guarana to my insane supplement regimen. It couldn't possibly hurt, now could it?

Thank you all for being here.

Bill

Thats quite an arsenal and I though I took a lot of supps! Please check with your doc or pharmacist before you add guarana-it is a pure source of caffeine and at your weight you should tread cautiously with the stuf
