Oh my goodness, down to 235.2 this morning! That's 6 pounds in 4 days.
The last time I did low carb it took me me a month to go from 240 to 232. If this keeps up I will hit my goal for this month within the first week! I love CLA/GLA! woohoooooooo |

Thank you Marsha!!!
It is my intention to do the Anabolic Diet but I've only been sort of doing low carb the last few days. Like low carbing for breakfast and lunch and then eating a regular dinner and sometimes dessert . I dunno, I guess I just had it in my mind that I would start for real after my menses so these losses have taken me by surprise. With the Anabolic diet I must eat less than 30 grams carbs per day for a straight two weeks before I can begin carbing up. I chose to carb up for one day only; really helped me to stay on plan for the other six days. I'd carb up on Saturday; eat whatever I wanted and actually be craving my meat and eggs in the morning. Sadly I only had two weeks of this before I went away for a week and fell off plan. I'll keep you posted, since I know you're curious, as to what happens when I begin my carb ups again. Before I found you guys and the combo, the Anabolic diet was the only time I'd ever felt this good doing low carb. **edited to add that I PM'd you an article by personal trainer Jen Heath; she follows the Anabolic diet and highly recommends it for women.** Here's a before and "after" for what happened during about the six weeks when I was following, first, low carb and then the Anabolic diet:

Oh yeah i bet you are wondering what truck huh? His (new one ) is an 08' toyota tacoma (red) and mine is an 06' tacoma (white) awww they are the new toy twins.... when it arrives i will take pictures of the new addition to the family.....OK weight ummm im still at 175.2 this am. i really was looking for 173, cuz that would put me at 55 lbs gone. but still workin on it. I am gonna chop my hair i think, im still loosin it like crazy, the biotin is working just not fast enough!!! so i might look ugly in my picts that i take later on today.... dunt laugh at me k? alrighty then, i need to get ready my ds has a b-day party today and i need to get a gift. Mikki I agree.
........ The Great Cheese Capers" Hmmmm we'll make it a comedy ....and make a fortune ![]() Perhaps even have my cat Cricket ( a true cheese lover) in it. Everyday! DBF comes home from work.... Cricket is right on him in the kitchen, the poor man can't even go anywhere near "the great white box" (fridge) without being mauled for cheese. ![]() Come to think of it ......he could be the "thief" ...he'd fit the role beautifully yeah the gas prices "suck". ... here too They're telling to get use to the idea of it going up to $1.50 per Litre by summer. ![]() Mikki I can't imagine you ever looking ugly..... I'd never laugh ![]() Sending a BIG To your Son swinglow: You're doing fabulous !! Keep up the good work

Denise....6 lbs in 4 days? Wow!
Marsha...I've read about that carb cycling and I hear it works really well. Let us know how it goes. Mikki...Hate to hear that you are still losing your mane! Are you sure you wanna chop those long locks of yours and does your hubby know you are going to do this? He might get a bit ticked. I know mine would as I have to keep it long for him. There is something about men and hair. ![]() Did Phil go on vacation with Tom and Trisha??? |

Thanks, Justachic! Not as WOW as you in that suit though, girlfriend! I hear you about men and hair; I have long hair but I'm into wigs; and sometimes I like to switch it up. My boyfriend nearly had a heart attack when I came in with a short "cut" wig... I believe his words were, "oh noooooooo! what did you do??"
He got used to it though. well... sort of ![]() Quote:

Thanks MG and Lisa for the the info.
I did have a fasting glucose on Feb. 12 and it was 101 and so doc sent me for these tests that I had just posted about. Seems my fasting glucose was 101 on both tests. Maybe he will put me on Metformin (I think that is what it is called) or something. Who knows. Yeah, I've been following a low carb plan for many years and I had hoped that glucose # wouldn't climb, but it used to be 95 and then 2 years at 97 and now 101, so maybe he thinks I will need meds with the family history and all. Marsha - Congrats on your 5 month anniversary of low carbing. ![]() Denise - Wow! You are losing pounds fast and it shows in your pics! KUTGW! ![]() Mikki - Congrats on your new addition to the family (truck). ![]() Mamalaurie, Chic, Phil and Dave.

Marsha- Congrats on 5 months!! Way to go!!
![]() Denise- Congrats on your weight loss! Keep that up and your DH will have to hide you away ![]() Mikki- Congrats on the new truck!! Oh and where are these pics we have been promised???? ![]() Michele- Good luck with whatever the doctor says, even if you have to do meds for a bit until your body gets back on track, it will be worth it to have peace of mind and know it's being controlled ![]() As for me, I had DH's birthday dinner last night...a hibachi grill. I only had a few bites of fried rice, but lots of filet mignon, shrimp and chicken...of course there was soy sauce on everything, so I was up to 159lb this morning, but no worries! I am not stressing about it because he is leaving for a week again so it was a nice dinner and I didn't have to "sacrifice" anything! We also went to the zoo today and had tons of fun, but got rained out. We plan on going back when DH comes home next weekend ![]() I also got my 12th hour of Callan in tonight, my whole body feels like Jello now ![]() Going to chill and cuddle with DH now! See ya tomorrow!! ![]()

Hi... first time posting in here. I've been reading as much as I can on this Cla/Gla and I went and bought some an started taking two days ago. My question though.. is after reading more... I started seeing stuff about effecting thryoid. I have graves disease/ hyperthyroidism. I am year and a half post radiation and was on synthroid for a year. Recently my thyroid kicked it up a notch and I am currently med free and holding a low normal
t3 t4 count. Is it safe for me to take this combo or will it stimulate my throid to overproduce again? Sadly I'm not getting any benefit from being hyper lol, just the drawbacks when I go hypo. Thanks |

Dwhalen I'm so glad you're doing better!
Although my results with cla/gla have been phenomenal, I highly recommend you speak to your doctor about the combo and how it will effect your condition. I would think you can take it, because we're simply replacing what should be in our food anyway (but isn't). But how could we know? Speak to a doctor; even if it's a holistic one. Good luck friend.Quote:

Well i have wanted to cut it ummm since ive been married (14 Yrs) but my DH wouldent let me. but i have leverage with the new addition to the family, hehehe i havent signed the papers yet! so we made a deal the he get the new toy and i get to chop it off!!! I do think i look better with the long locks but by cutting it i think it will come back healthier. Not to mention with me losing my hair, now its just going to give the biotin a chance to really start working.i will do picts later today! oh yeah i think i look younger too!!! that helps![]() |

Good afternoon everyone, We got back from our trip Tuesday night. Been so busy with the kids and granddaughter moving in , not much time for posting. I've been trying to read through all the postd though, just too many to personalize. We had a great time in Florida. It was cold, windy and rainy most days. Sunday was nice and sunny so we met a friend of mine at venice Beach and looked for sharks teeth. We found several small ones but nothing big. It was good to see my friend again. We have been friends since 6th grade and I havent seen her in years. She moved to Florida a couple years ago, just 2 hours away from Toms parents. Ol pegleg, the 3 legged gator was back again this year along with a new younger gator that was only about 4 feet long. We got pics for ya Phil lol. We didnt get many good pics cuz there was something on the camera lens we didnt notice until after we took most of the pics so most are blurry
. I'll post the link once I get them uploaded. Tom caught a really nice bass on the last day there, so hes happy lol. It was too chilly to get any pool time in but we will get plenty of that when we go back in July with the kids. We did play golf about every day and that was fun. Toms forehead got really bad sun/wind burn and he pealed like a snake !!!Welcome to all the new members. swinglow, your doing fantastic !! BTW, you are beautiful !!. You kinda look like Teka, the girl that does my nails. I'll try to keep up with the posts now. I gained a few pounds on vacation which was expected since we didnt LC. Toms folks just cook too darn good to pass up. My work called and told me they are sending the gym a check for the 2002 workers comp bill this week, so once that is paid, I am re-hiring my personal trainer and going back to the gym. mikki, love the new do' !! You look fantastic !! It will be so much easier for you to fix now. I'm getting mine cut and layered again in a couple weeks, but not that short. It works for you, but really short hair looks terrible on me !! to everyone else, I'll try to get the pics uploaded today !!![]()

Good morning! Happy to hear about you all who are down in lbs again. I think I'm down some too due to DH's comments about my butt looking smaller yesterday.
Mikki...your hair looks really good and yes you do look younger! I did one of those home color washes the other day. I thought I was going dark brown but the color came out BLACK! Black is beautiful on some people but on me it isn't. Thank goodness it will wash out with a few shampoos. DWhalen...I have thyroid issues and I have to say that for the first time in YEARS I am feeling like I did prior to my thyroid giving out since being on this combo. But of course everyone is different. Went to a couple of parties yesterday, a St. Patty's Day party and one of my best friend's 40th. I had a Jack in the Box spicy chicken sandwich and stuffed jalapeno poppers on the way out of town. Brownies, and a cornbeef sandwich at the first party. A Red Bull and Yaeger, nachos and birthday cake at the second one. And a sourdough jack on the way back into town! I know you are thinking WHAT A PIG!!! Cheat days are great for me heh heh heh....but today and for the rest of the week I will be very strict with my WOE.Phil...are you back to hitting the weights yet?

Denise, thanks for posting that link. I hadn't seen it. This combo does work differently for everyone and I do recomend for everyone to consult their health care provider before taking it in case it conflicts with any meds they are on. Yes the borage oil is a blood thinner. I asked my Dr. about it and he said there is nothing in it that will hurt me and gave me the go ahead. Sadly, for whatever reason, it wont work for everyone. It worked wonders for me the first time, but I am having trouble getting my eating and exercise adjusted to work with it this time. It is a "suppliment" to clean eating and exercise, not a magic bullit some hope it to be, so everyone please keep that in mind ![]() chic & Denise, Thanks for the welcome back. Even with the cooler weather, we really needed that break from work, and we missed the big 16 inch snowstorm while we were gone . It was pretty much melted when we got home Thank Goodness !! |

. I know I've slacked off posting lately. I just cant seem to get myself in gear this time and sometimes feel I have nothing to contribute to the thread so I just try to read and keep up. We are planning a trip to tennessee in May to go hiking in the mountains again, and back to Florida for 10 days in July and I really want to lose some weight before then. We are going to go to St. Petes beach again and I dont want to feel like the whale on the beach again . I totally hate the few pics we got of me on this trip and hopefully I can get my butt in gear and not be so afraid of the camera by next trip !! |

Thanks Denise, your such a sweetie
. I would like to lose about 20 lbs by then but don't know if thats reasonable or healthy. Thats about 4 months away. 5 lbs a month should be do'able I would think. The warmer weather should help. I'm looking forward to getting out working in the yard again. I am back to 203lbs and size 18 jeans so that will be my re-starting pointHeres the link to our Florida pics... Trisha, looks like you guys are really enjoying yourselves in Florida. And girlfriend, don't hate your pictures, they're beautiful. Just know that you already have everything you need to reach your goals. 20 pounds in 4 months is totally doable! I can't wait to see us in 20 pounds.
