Mikki: I think your body is trying to play catch-up to your weight loss! Skipping Callan tonight as I have a pretty sore right side *(around rib cage). Thinking a pulled muscle, but I'll give it another day to rest. Gotta take hubby to the outpatient surgery tomorrow, then prepare for my teaching class on Friday and Saturday going to Artisan Bread Baking seminars. Hope to check in, sometime in between!Have a great night, off to watch Idol and then CSI.

As Far as Callanetics goes . . .
If any of those folks are beginners, then I'm a kilted Scotsman! I like how they want you sit on your knees, lean back, then lift your torso . . . Yeah, any leaning back and my asterisk is glued to my heels, they ain't goin' nowhere. I can't lift my rear bumper from my knees, they don't bend that much. It's a miracle that my butter can even touch my knees in kneeling position in the first place. Swinglow, the pillow thing didn't really work for me since I still had to curl up into the stomach positions. I decided that I'm not going to rock for now, just hold the positions and hopefully my neck muscles will get stronger enough to hold me up more than 25 secs at a time.(I guess my head is too big ) Once I can hold it for 100, then I'll work on rocking 1/4 inch and such. Thanks for the tip.BTW, congrats on being so close to goal Freeing. That's awesome. ![]()

Hey there Karen... I have yoyo-ed up and down with various diets for years now, and found the only thing that works for me is serious low-carb. I *wish* I were stalled out at 237...I would be happy with that number... But since you want to see lower numbers on your scale...here's my thoughts for you: I know that if I were eating as many carbs as you are eating, there is no way I could lose weight. Even if you're only having a cup of oatmeal for breakfast, that is more carbs than I can have in a whole day, and still lose. Also, I found this online (a Special K bar contains 19 grams of carbs, more carbs than I consume in a whole day): Not generally permitted on low carb diets, energy or breakfast bars (like Special K Cereal Bar) are relatively calorie-dense foods with little dietary fiber and a relatively high content of refined sugary carbs. [Note: Some wholegrain cereal bars are more nutritious, with a higher dietary fiber content and less sugar.] But bars that contain a lot of sugar will be high on the Glycemic Index, which means they can cause a rapid rise in blood-glucose levels, leading to excessive insulin production and a sudden drop in blood sugar. The longer-term health effects of eating high-GI foods and consequent unstable blood sugar levels, include obesity and Insulin Resistance. Bottom line: although breakfast/cereal/energy bars are very convenient, and provide a useful energy-burst, if you want to lose weight and stay healthy, keep your intake of foods like Special K Cereal Bar, to a sensible level. If I were you, I would skip the low-carb wrap, too. Have more vegetables and lean meats, and forget oatmeal, cereal bars and tortillas. Good luck with jump-starting your metabolism from the stall... All best, Bill |

Hi All,
I have been lurking since swinglow shared her experience with CLA/GLA with me and I hope you don't mind me joining in. Today is my second day on the combo. I tried it a few years ago but the amount of pills I had to take made me give up pretty fast. This time I am inspired by swinglows pics so I am going to try to hang in there. |

Intmyh....welcome to the thread. Just stick to a program of the combo, woe, and exercise and you will see results like many of us are.
![]() Mikki...this board has been pretty quiet lately. Without some of the regulars posting as much, it has taken on a different feel. I really do miss sparring with Phil. ![]() Paula...great job on getting your 1-2 mile walks in. That's awesome! My meals have consisted of lower fat, higher protein and some brown carbs. This has been working really well with my activity level so I'm sticking with it. For me, losing 20 lbs seems like it's taken forever but I'm fitting in much smaller clothes so I guess it's not about the scales for me. I may never reach 137 ever again if I continue to strength train but that's ok! Gonna head out for an outdoor run as soon as DH wakes up. Have a great day everyone. ![]()

Good afternoon everyone. We been down with the virus thats going around so didnt much feel like posting. Hoping I'm on the down side of it now.
RANT ALLERT !!! ![]() I've had a killer headache for days and the idiot guys at work who played with their turkey calls on the public radio all night at work didnt help . It amazes me how childish grown men can act !! I usually turn off my radio and try to ignore them, but last night I wasnt feeling well anyway, so I lost my temper and said over the radio.."and I thought "CHILD LABOR" was illegal in this country !!!" , That just made them worse so I just turned off my radio. I reported it as a safety violation since we need our radios on for emergency situations communication down there, and if half the crew turns them off because of this nonsense, its not good. We have occasional fire drills where we are timed on getting to the safe area of the mine and if everyone had their radios off, we wont hear it. Alot are complaining about it, but the responsible parties know they cant be traced so they keep getting worse. RANT OVER !!! ![]() ![]() Welcome to all the new members. Always glad to see new faces here . The thread does get quiet at times, but it always picks back up. Lets see if we can get things moving again !!! I miss all the banter too. Its been to rainy to get any good truck pics, but I'll try again today between showers. Michele, ya know, when I lost the weight last time, I ate alot of fish & veggies too. I'm going to start that again and maybe get my weight moving again lntmyh, welcome, you may want to try the new Natrol Tonalin 1200mg cla caps. Just 3 a day !!! I agree, Denise is such an testament for this combo dbevmac, great pics, glad you enjoyed the cruise. Where is Phil anyway??? Bill, welcome, and I agree with what you said. I love my steel cut oats, but they dont work on induction. You really gotta watch those carbs Gonna say Hi to everyone, too many posts to catch up and dont want to leave anyone out ![]()

Afternoon Y'all!
I'm still hanging in, but I hover around the same 3 pounds over and over. 174 to 177. Up and down and all around! Oh well, I'm eating clean most of the time, so I'm sure it will eventually come off.I plan on doing an hour of callan tonight for sure. Been a busy week for me. I bought some supplements today based on Dr. Teitelbaum's Chronic Fatigue recommendations. I bought: B12, C Complex, CQ 10 and Vit C. I'm adding those to the Acetyl-L Carnitine, Multi Vit, Botin, Calcium, D, Magnesium and the Combo. Next pay period I'll add D-Ribose. Trisha: You a re SO funny! I'm glad you spoke up and reported those silly antics. I hope you feel better soon! Where is ADLMA???? Marsha: Are you feeling better? Mikki: Yeah!!!!! Love that fish!! I eat wild Alaskan salmon at least 3-4 times per week. Michele: HUGS!!!!!!!!!! How is everyone?? Last edited by MountainGirl : 03-27-2008 at 02:44 PM. |

Wondering where ADLMA is also, hope she is ok![]() I think this gloomy weather has everyone in a funk. praying for some sunshine, warm breezes and uplifted moods for everyone !!! ![]() Michele, my prayers are still with you. It just takes time but it does get easier to handle. Zips been gone for 4 years now, and I still miss him terribly. to you my friend ![]() and where is Deanna & Dani !!! Anyone who hasn't checked in in awhile, please do so now so we know your ok !!! Last edited by kycowgirl : 03-27-2008 at 02:42 PM. |
