Mikki........to answer your question.......Vit B's are known as the stress vitamins...B5 I think to be more specific but the complex would do just as well. Lavender and rosemary also work great to calm the nerves. They also help to lower cortisol levels which increases when we are stressed and keeps us from losing.......I really enjoy rosemary vinegar on my salads and lavender will help you to sleep, otherwise a lavender spray or flower or oil scent will work whereever you are the most. I used to keep a bottle of oil in my pocket, you can get small bottles of essential oils at any health food store, and when i needed it i would just take it out and smell it.

A little background on me to introduce myself. I'm 5'10" and had always maintained an average weight of 170-175. I used to be a restaurant manager and when I started working for a restaurant called "Claimjumper", they sent me to L.A. for three months for training. I was in a corporate apartment and I wasn't going to waste money by filling up the kitchen and I was rarely there anyway, so I mostly ate at the restaurant or grabbed some quick take out, needless to say I put on 15 pounds. When I came back home, I was working for approx. 4 months when I became pregnant. I had a very stressful pregnancy (I'm a single mother) and put on another 60 pounds. I topped out at 249. After having my son, he'll be 2 at the end of April, I gradually went down to 208 and stayed there. When my step father passed away this past December, 2 weeks before Christmas, I went up to 214. Then something happened in Feb. I suddenly got really motivated and decided I was through being unhappy with my body. I had tried low carb before (sorta) and felt that was the best choice for me. I struggled the first few weeks until I found this site. Reading other people's stories, the ups and downs, knowing what to expect really kept me going. I feel I have the food aspect down, then I wanted to look into suppliments and I found this thread, which is great! Now I have the suppliments in place I'm going to start excercising. 1 step at a time. I know I already said this, but thank you to all of you who talk about the good and the bad. Just knowing what everyone else is going through and that I'm not the only one is a great help.

Girl....I put on 15 lbs just passing by that restaurant!!! I use to eat there when I was over weight. The portions are the size of Texas!

It's a lot worse when you get the freedom to eat whatever you want for free. And then there were the "Scoobie Snacks", treats for the staff to boost moral...... I'm surprised I only gained 15 pounds

Welcome Glenfynnan~!
Thank you, Mountain Girl, Thank you!

Thank you, Chic! Tomorrow's my first carb up so I have to get used to relying mostly on inches and pics to mark my progress.

Thank you all for your fabulous support. You're all just so awesome.

Amen to that!! That is my biggest thing; keeping the curves I've got. But then I remember, I was curvacious before, I'm curvacious now, the chances are great that as long as I retain my muscle mass I'll be curvacious then... and there ya go.

Oh, and don't think my bf isn't carefully watching every lump and bump... he is not down with losing the curves either!

I once had a boyfriend who told me he didn't mind if I lost weight as long as I kept me "behind". I told him not to worry, I've had it all my life I don't think I'm going to lose it now. But doesn't the CLA/GLA work on your fat and I know where my biggest supply is

Yeah, sounds like we have similar "supplies". LOL CLA focuses mostly on belly fat, I believe; I'm sure the booty and thighs slim down as well, but I'm hoping my belly slims down faster than my hips and thighs. I only want to lose about five inches off of my buttocks measurement and each thigh (each, not total) but I want to lose 12 inches or more off my waist.

Good to know, thanks . Before I had my son I was used to having a flat stomch, small waist and big hips (child bearing hips someone told me. They didn't make having a child any easier, the drugs did that ). Since I had my son I definately have more of a stomach than I'm used to and I miss my small waist. Like you I would love to lose in the thighs, but those have always been big as well, so we'll see.

I took my measurements on Thurs. 20th:
Bust: 41
Waist: 36
Hips: 48 1/2
Thigh: 29

My thighs are bigger than some people's waists........ that's not right!

No worries! It'll all work out in the end. Girl, please, when I had 28 inch thighs and a 24 inch waist and everything was firm and in place, no one was thinking that my thighs were the width of some peoples waist. hehehe

Here's me:

Bust 47
Waist 40
Hips 48
Thighs 32 and 31

Wow, the difference between my waist and hip measurement used to be 14 inches! Now, it's only 8! Good gracious, cmon CLA! I need my waist to trim down very much.

All the same, I've lost some inches recently and I'm happy as a clam. And I know the combo is doing great things because I've got pictures to prove it! LOL We'll get there, friend. In no time, at all, really.

This is the kind of support I need, thank you. I definately had a sort of shift in my thinking right before I started on this path. I know I might stumble but I will never fall and now that I have this site I know there will always be a hand to help me. We will get there and when we do, it will be sweeter than any piece of candy could ever be!

I have a story to tell you by Forever Krysia

the postcard looking picture is my cat Qiwi, I wanted her to be over looking the ocean so I photoshopped her into this scene, and found a line from a lovely poem . . .

Boy, am I outta the loop.

Freeing, you look MARVELOUS. I'm still waiting for the callanetics DVD that I "won" on ebay, two weeks ago . . .

Denise - Thank you so much for everything, and congratulations on melting away.

MG - Glad your shoulder is getting better

Phil - Did someone have an anniversary? Congrats!

Michelle - I'm sorry about your dog.

Kycowgirl, Trisha - I always cry when I read that poem, or when I light the rainbow candle. Last time I lit the Rainbow Memorial Candle, I wasn't thinking straight and accidentally set my feather duster on fire. . .

MamaLaurie - Mean folks SUCK! But guess what? You aren't mean.

Hello to everybody!

I've found my CLA. Someone posted a study where folks took 1000 mg a day and saw results over holiday gorging. I know it worked for me before at 3400, but I may go at a lower dose till I get finances back in order to buy it regularly. If I ever get my Calli DVD, I will be adding that also.

Sleepy, g'night.
