Happy Spring Everyone !!!

Paula, I've read that the juicy fruit works, and I have read it didnt, but if you tried and and it works, its worth a shot. I found some natural mole repellants I am try called granular CHASE Mole and Gopher Repellent , and molmed, that has castor oil in it and is supposed to run them off and prevent them from coming back. Its safe for pets and kids. They had it on the HGTV website.
Gardening : Animals : No More Gophers (or Moles)! : Home & Garden Television

lucki, we are about 70 miles from Burlington. My sister lives in Richwood right by there. You familiar with the area??? Hope you feel better soon !!!

Michele, I am so sorry about Toby. I was devistated when my german shepard "Zip" died after being attacked by the neighbors pitt bull. We get so close to our pets, they are family. I even heard him standing by the bed at night breathing for a long time after he passed. My heart and prayers go out to you

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I can't read that without crying

I spent alot of time here...http://petloss.com/ hope this helps you too

Free. congrats on the 155.5...WTG !!!

MG, thats why I am going to use my personal trainer. I dont want to re-hurt my neck

Hey All!

Trisha: Thanks for that link. I will go and buy some of that next weekend. I assume they have it at Home Depot? Anyway, I did buy the Juicy Fruit.

OK, I did the first hour of Callanetics and I survived! Whooo hoooooo! I couldn't do ALL of the leg ones, I kept cramping up, but the ones using my shoulder worked very well and I am pleased.

MG, we have an acre yard and it will cost about $130 to treat our yard, but thats cheaper than the lawn care service I was going to call. Soon as we get some bills caught up, I'm going to order it. I wonder if our Lowes has it, hmmmm

Stay-Slim Suppliment

Scientists think they may have unearthed a natural pill that actually gets rid of fat. A University of Wisconsin study hints that a pill can keep binges like holiday treats from threatening your waistline. Researchers gave 40 overweight subjects either 4 g a day of a suppliment called conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) or a placebo. No one was dieting, but after 6 months, those who'd taken CLA had lost 1.3 pounds, while those in the placebo group gained 2.4.

The most substancial differences were seen during the holiday months: The placebo poppers put on more than a pound each, but members of the CLA group took off about 1/3 pound from November through December. "CLA increases the burning of fat, particularly during sleep," says study coauthor Dale Schoeller, PhD." "The effect is very small but adds up over months--and because people tend not to notice gradual weight gain during the winter, every little bit can help."

CLA, a fatty acid, is naturally found in beef and dairy fat.

Tonalin, was the capsule used in the study. Volunteers took four 1,000-mg pills each day with breakfast.

Michelle-Sorry about Toby We lost our black lab Gunnar last summer and we still miss him so much. A stray black lab came in our yard about a week ago and was playing with my ds, when I first looked out the window I thought it was him. I told hubby later that night that I think it's time to get a new dog for our ds to play with, it made me cry

Thank you Soooooooo much for all your kind words. You've all REALLY touched my heart !! Just knowing there are so many kind and supportive friends out here. There are NO words which could ever express my gratitude to have such good friends.

Trisha: I wish I could say BF was supportive, but he's always been the main saboteur.
I love the aerial shot of your workplace.

FreeingMyself: What a wonderful way to think of it. I'm going copy that down so I never forget it. "you can always change your weight, but they will always be hateful. "
Perhaps we can help each other out with the "nasty" people in our lives.
155.5lbs ....Looking amazing !!! Keep it up. Doin a Happy Dance for you

Mikki: Is it something we all can help YOU out with dear friend ?

swinglow: yes, you are definitely an asset to the group !! BTW: I love hearing how well you're doing.
Hmmmmmm grab and go meals.....sounds great. It sure would help at times.
Congrats on the 233.2

ThyckeCutie: Way to Go Girl. Fab news....time to go shopping for new belts
Thank you for your kind words.....
You've all got me cryin happy tears here

I'm strongly considering buying a Inverter Table vs a yoga swing (no where to put it up). Has anyone here had experience with one ? I'm hoping it will help my back and hip.

Paula......I'll lend you my fearless "Vole" hunter ..... my cat cricket. He protect you by distracting the moles. Don't go to far though, he's a riot to watch. He'll lightly swat them until they get ticked off and start chirpping at him and bitting his toes. He Likes playing with them, until they bite too hard.
I gather the moles hate the smell of the gum ???

Michele I'm soooo sorry to hear about your beloved Toby. He's in heaven now with Jesus....looking down upon you & your family. I'm sure he had a wonderful, happy and loving life with you. He will be with you always. My heart and thoughts are with you. I still grieve my German Shepard 'dang" after 20yrs this (she was 14).

jimzgrl: Yes, I agree with Marsha. That poor baby needs a home

I got some posts from a gardening message forum. Some of the posts were down-right hilarious

For moles or voles which ever they are, only thing that I've found that works is Juicy Fruit gum.

You chew a piece up for a couple minutes, pop it down their hole and they like the smell/taste of it and eat it. Good thing about it is they can't digest it and they die. Don't know about gophers but it works on the little varmits.

I first disturb the mound, (gophers and moles) with voles I disturb their pathways/tunnel to see if they are still active. With the voles I open up the runway drop the used kitty litter inside and cover it back up. With the gophers/moles I drop it down the hole in the mound, if it's active

a garden guru on a local station recently said to get the man of the house to pee down the gopher holes - worth a try especially since most men of the house have such a lousy aim in the bathroom anyway.

I had moles runs and holes in several of my gardens and all around my yard. They were so bad I almost quit gardening. Then I heard about the gum trick and it worked like a miracle. In two days no more tunnel mounds. After the first night I stomped the tunnels down. I had to treat the area a couple times this year because moles from the surrounding fields moved in but I'm once again mole free and happy. I was told to make sure when I put the gum in the hole to wear latex gloves and not touch the gum. I never used the gloves but was careful to only touch the wrapping foil and once I dropped the gum, if it didn't go in the hole all the way, I'd poke it in with a stick. I tried all kinds of poisons and traps but nothing worked till the gum.

I also agree with the Juicy fruit gum idea, worked great for us. Don't chew it first, just stick it down the hole.

well the ammonia seems to have worked! i dumped a cup into the mounds of fresh earth that were in the foyer and NO NEW activity. this was the sudsy ammonia(99cent store) not the good stuff. all the other spots that i dumped the stuff are the same. had to water though and this will dilute the ammonia, i know tomatoes love nitrogen but dont want to burn them by reapplying.

thinking its not enough to kill them if the gas, road flares, propane, vehicle exhaust werent? i have re-upped my supply of juicey fruit and will be laying the "mines" today being VERY careful not to chew it first!

since using clumps of used kitty litter at every entrance/exit hole I saw..no more of them..I just put a clump in the hole...I have 5 cats..so it was a cheap way to get rid of them

Using a pair of gardening gloves, I threw an entire piece of UNCHEWED Juicy Fruit gum down about 8 of the 15+ holes I had in my yard. It's been 2 weeks now, and I have not seen ANY mole activity since that night. I have attached a web link to another blog that I came across. She had mention the Juicy Fruit trick saying that it is important not to touch the gum with your hands.

I just had the yummiest snack. Guys, please tell me it's legal? LOL It was half an Atkins Advantage Chocolate Royale Shake, 1/4 cup half n half and 2 tbsp vanilla davinci's poured over ice. I think it works out to be about 12 grams fat, 10 grams protein and 4 grams net carbs (6 carbs minus 2 grams fiber). Ok, is it ok as a treat? I hope so. Sure was gooood! nom nom nom

Mama Laurie, I've been doing some searching for grab and go's. So far, here are the ideas I've picked up. First, are you able to do any shopping on your own? If so, I highly recommend cooking casseroles ahead and sectioning them up and storing them in the freezer in individual portions. This way you can just reach in there and thaw something out when you need. It's great if you can make a double batch of oopsies once per week and use them as bread when you need to make a quick sandwhich or stop and grab a burger. Off subject, I used one as a pancake this morning then turned around and used two to contain a lovely cuban sandwhich for lunch. Oh my, very good!

If no, the next best thing is to have high fat, low carb snack items on hand in the fridge that you can crab when you need. I found this post that asked a similar question and got some good responses. I'm still on the look out, buddy! I'll get more and report back.

Induction Menus/meals NEEDE ASAP!!!!!!!

Oh and all ideas are welcome. Those of you that have grab and go foods that you enjoy, please chime right in!

Thank you all for you kind words....you all have really helped me feel better (if that is possible right now).

I've read all the posts, but my mind is sort of mushy so let me just say that Mikki - I like your new haircut.

Freeing - Wowie what a change in body composition! KUTGW!

MG - I'm glad PT is going well and that you can do Callanetics.

Pootie - Miss you girlfriend.

Trish - Thanks for the Rainbow Bridge poem and I love your pics from Florida. The beach looks devine and the orange made my mouth water.

all around. Nite.
