WOE: still figuring it out!
Start Date: Everyday, over and over and over......
Welcome back Trish! Your pics are great. You and Tom look good! I agree with Denise, 20 lbs in 4 months is very doable! I'll join in with all of you after surgery next month. Yay for your work finally paying thier bill-have fun with your new trainer!

Mikki-Luv the new do! It took me 4 years of marriage to talk hubby into letting me cut mine short-then I REALLY regretted it Untill I cut it short I didn't know that I had naturally curly hair-very curly hair NOT a good look on me Took forever to grow it back out.

Chic-Sounds like you had a fun cheat day!!! Making me hungry for Jack in the Box-might have to stop in before church this afternoon!!

Denise-Don't think I ever said You seem very sweet and a great addition to our group!!

Everyone else Hope you have a great Sunday!!!

Denise, we really did have a good time , but it went way too fast lol. Your right, we can do 20lbs in 4 months, I'm in

Kathy, thanks . and aboutt he trainer...they haven't paid yet . I have heard that for 6 years now. You would think they would get tired of me calling them and pay her to shut me up lol. I mean the first physical rehab guy charged about $1200 a visit once a week, and it was just a temp fix, and Trisha only charged $20 an hour 3 times a week and she actually helped me be pain free by "building" my back and shoulder muscles. I went to her for about 3 months and stopped going because WC wasnt paying her. her total bill was only $680 !! and she helped me !!! They said since she wasnt in an actual medical building they didnt have to pay. I wrote them a long letter telling them how she helped me and how much money they saved by me going to her at my Dr.'s request, and how they would still be paying for the other guy and they decided to pay her. They even asked me why she was persuing this after so many years and i told them she wasnt, I WAS cuz she HELPED me !! Trish told me she didnt blame me since she talked to WC herself and they agreed to pay her before I would even go. She said she pretty much wrote it off and was very grateful that I kept after them to pay her. She told me I could come back even if they didnt pay her, but I wouldnt feel right about it. So I really hope they do pay her so I can go back starting April.
Anyway, glad to have you join us after your surgery. Hope all goes well with it

LC eating has been kind of bad this week. My wife and I went out to eat Friday for our 16th. wedding anniversary. Yesterday and today have been hit and miss but I'll be low carb tomorrow. I bought a 1/4 of beef from a friend and picked it up at the local locker Saturday morning. Now I have 190 pounds of pure corn fed Iowa beef in the freezer. T-bones are sounding pretty good right now.

Woohoo Mikki your hubby's got a new gal now! You should put some reddish or caramel highlights in-would look good with your complexion! How'd the hubby like his new woman?

Thanks, Lisabinil! But the info isn't really for me... it's for those that may not feel motivated enough to read through the past pages. I thought since the discussion is in one place it'd be good to have personal experiences also in one place; for those that are on the fence.

I've made mine and I'm happy with my decision.

I scoured all of the CLA/GLA threads before I started. Great stuff!

Phil....just a friendly reminder not to let this happen to where you don't get back into it at all or you will lose what you've gained so far. Summer is around the corner and you'll really want to look good in your summer clothes for your wife. My DH is regaining his muscle mass and he feels like a NEW MAN to me!!!

Denise...do you do any kind of workout routine?

Tomorrow I start working with a trainer at my gym. She will be teaching me core excersies! This is going to freshen up my program and I'm really excited.

Wishing everyone a great week with no stolen cheese!!!

Sure do! I originally lost 50 pounds doing low carb (and Callanetics, incidentally) some 8 years ago. Weight training, alone, allowed me to maintain my losses for most of that time. I did superslow (also called the power of 10 and slowburn) weight training for most of that time. It's very slow controlled lifting that allows for superior muscle growth. I began gaining weight again when my eating went completely out of control.

These days, I've been experimenting with isometric contractions. A form of training made popular by the likes of Charles Atlas, Alois Swoboda and Alexander Zass. All strong men known for their beautiful bodies. I think Charles also used steroids, though.

For improved lymphatic flow, I've been doing deep aerobic breathing in the mornings. Truth be told, I miss Superslow and believe I may return to it but keep the breathing in the mornings because I just feel great when I do it!

Have you tried drybrushing Swinglow? Most who do it swear by it helping with lymphatic flow also. Never tried it myself but find it interesting.

I tried that some years ago, you know... I'm quite the experimenter. Don't even ask about the colonics phase, but you know I tried that too. LOL

Dry brushing felt really good; I think people just need to be touched more and it felt good to be "touched" all over first thing in the morning. Didn't get me excited enough to keep at it, though. But I did love the feeling. Now if I can only get my bf to do it for me... LOL Then I guess I'd stick with it?!

So even though the pounds have been falling off, I hadn't seen much change in my body to me. So this morning, I took more pics. Not quite as horrifying as the first. I decided to post my five day results.

The ones that are black and grey are from 3-12. I was 241 pounds. The ones that are white were taken this morning. I am 234.6. I am floored. I originally had no intention of posting progress pics until next month. But after seeing these, side by side, I just had to document this progress.

Denise- WOW! What a difference! Amazing that happened in less than a week! KUTGW!!

Hey and hello to everyone as I am sick and lazy enough NOT to go through each post
DH left yesterday and gave a us a sickness as a going away present ?Needless to say, DS has decided naps are not a neccessity lately so working out has been few and far between. I am going to try to get Callan in after DS goes to bed. I haven't been able to run except one time...it's really frustrating.
I have taken DS to the park and run around doing everything he does, monkey bars etc. so that has to account for something
I am stuck at 159lb now but probably because of the cold meds i.e. Theraflu has sodium, ah well. Soon enough. I do some Callan exercises while cooking or standing outside. I noticed, it is working even though I can't do it altogether.
I tried to cut carbs down again yesterday but felt a really scary hypoglycemic episode, so they are staying around 30-50g for now and I will deal with slow loss. My absolute fantasy goal was 135lb and that is less than 25lbs away, so I will go slow and deal with the fact that it may take a few more months than I planned to get to dream goal...it will get here though!
We shall see how this week goes with no help for exercise and no naptime to do exercises. I think the park provides lots of runtime for me though so it's better than nothing. Now I just have to do Callan tonight and we will be on track!
My menu for today is:

B- Carb Control Yogurt and 1/2 cup Fiber One

L- OMM bread BET

D- Cheeseburger with tomato

That's what I can think of right now. I know it's about 50 carbs but half of that is fiber, so it should be fine! Lots of water too!

Sorry for not going through each post, it's just a blah day

Denise, I know how you felt. When I first took my beginning progress pics I did NOT want to post them. I actually sat here with my mouse on the submit button for a very long time. It was very stressful putting myself out there looking like that. Then when time came for the monthly progress pics, I wasnt going to post because I thought there was no change. Tom talked me into taking the pics anyway, and when I put them side by side, I was floored how much I had went down. It was easier to hit that submit button with that one
