I use a few drops in my mop water, smells so fresh! (This is supposed to repel spiders too.) There is also lavender scented and one or two other scents. It comes in 2oz, quart, half-gallon and I have heard it comes in gallon size but have never seen that one. Lots of advice in tiny print on the label, lol, you'll just have to see for yourself. No offense to anyone. ![]() |

suWEET!! No need to do it now (being winter and all) but in the spring, I'm going to add some (Dr. Bronner's) to a spray bottle to spritz around my front door/porch area where those creepy little buggers just LOVE to "greet" me! <shudder>
Thanks for the tip! ![]() |

I'm swishing as I read this, 2 minutes in with sesame oil. I guess it doesn't taste bad, I mean it's like toasted sesame seeds. Just the thought of what i'm doing though,
![]() Well another minute went by and I find it's getting easier. My mouth is getting tired though and the oil is getting much more watery. |

I got back to OP, about 4-5 days ago... I had to go get more Sunflower oil yesterday... The cold pressed, organic I had was not good anymore.. It was HARD to find.. I had gotten it at Whole Foods, but it seems they may have discountined carrying it... I finally found 3 bottles at one, and grabbed them all... This gives me a little time to locate someplace else..
Yes I can get sunflower oil at the grocery store and even the health food stores, but it's all expeller pressed, not cold pressed... |

Ok I lasted 20 minutes. Whew. It wasn't quite as bad as I thought, I just really want to get the taste of toasted sesame seeds out of my mouth, even after chugging 3 glasses of water it's all I can taste!
What I did notice after the chugging was black marks on my front teeth. Upon closer inspection, it was plaque buildup, which normally would have been a dull off-white or something and hard to see. It came right off when I brushed them. |

Julie, is your oil toasted? If so, you need to replace that with plain sesame oil..
Great on getting the plaque off!!! Last edited by RockyMtnAngelEyes : 02-03-2008 at 09:13 AM. |

I tried it with cold pressed sesame oil. Actually not as bad as I thought, and my teeth WERE whiter, but OMG I am nauseous. Last night too. Blech.

I'm still swishing with sunflower oil every day, but I cannot go for any longer than 10 minutes. I am just hoping that 10 minutes will do some good. I've been doing it for a week, and so far, my teeth don't look any different.
Do you think I need to do it for longer than a week to see any difference, and/or do I need to somehow force myself to last for 20 minutes? One last question: has anyone found any real health benefits other than whiter teeth? The link mentioned migraines, but getting rid of then would seem a bit too good to be true.... |

my dear friend! I am using the CO and it's working great. What I want to know is does the sunflower taste better than the sesame oil? I want cold pressed - correct? The CO I am using is the cold pressed.Quote:
I also noticed that because I smoke I experiencing some coughing. Since I've been OP .... I cough a lot less and if I do clear my throat or cough I am expelling a lot of mucos that might have been lodged deep in my chest. I'm not congested. My head seems so much clearer ..... no brain fog. I'm also sleeping better - and only got up once the last few nights.... ![]() ![]()

Cheryl...
sweetheart...I can't stand coconut, so I won't be using that, but I'm thrilled it's working so well for you. .Yes, everything says cold pressed is the best choice, refined is 2nd best... I haven't tried the sesame oil.. I read it's a bit stronger tasting {I think that's what it said} than sunflower oil. I wanted as mild as I could get.. Holding oil in the mouth is weird enough.. If I can't find the cold pressed sunflower oil by the time I finish my 3 bottles, and if I continue, I'll probably try the sesame oil...I haven't noticed much difference yet... It's been what, 5 days now? 5 or 6 anyway.. I think I may start doing to 2-3 times a day, if I remember... I'd like the skin softening.. I have one elbow that, every winter just gets so bad.. I have no idea why... I am sleeping better, but that could be because I doubled my dose of 5-HTP too.. I don't know.. I smoke too, and am not seeing a lot of change, tho maybe some... I got sick back the end of Oct, and have been fighting that still. Mostly the cough with crap in my throat, and it may be better.. Is it the OP or just finally after, over 3 months, getting better.. I don't know... I have noticed since paying attention, my teeth have spread just a tad.. I'm hoping that they will pull back together!Ya know, if nothing else, this has got to be great for tightening the neck... ![]()

I've noticed that the lower part of my face is getting firmer and less wrinkles..... but it might also be because I started using Hylastra about 1.5 months ago and most of the lines around my mouth and in the chin area are disappearing. Sure beats going in for Restalyn shots $$$$I use it twice a day (serum). I have also ordered some Co-Q serum which is great for around the eye area.... I don't know if the serum is doing this or the OP - but my upper lip seems like it is filling out and much plumper .... ![]() |

I tried it with EVOO today since that is all I had on hand and I had to try it after reading all these threads!
I went up-town today and the local health food store had the Cold-Pressed Sunflower oil so I'll give it a shot tomorrow. I only managed 5-6 minutes x 2 earlier today. |

I'm here - I'm here. Just cooking some bacon for snacking!
Ok ...... I started using the Hylastra about 1 month ago and like I said the lines around my lips are almost gone. I've also noticed that my lips are plumper ... but maybe that's from the oil pulling every morning. I had more wrinkles on my chin and they've really gotten so much better. I use it twice a day - and it is a serum. I get out of shower, and put it on before getting dressed. It dries very quickly. Then I put my make-up on. Now the Co-Q serum I'm waiting for. I'm going to use the Hylastra in the morning and the Co-Q serum at night. It is especially great for all the lines around your eyes and elsewhere. Even though I had a lower eyelid bleph last March - it doesn't get rid of wrinkles. The company really stands behind their products - and if you don't see any difference you can send it back and there is no fighting to get your money back. All I know is that the products I have used - they WORK. I sign up for automatic shipments ---- because then you get it cheaper. One nice thing is you can go in and change the volume/date delivery anytime you want. P.S. I don't work for them ![]() |

OK, I give up on the OP. I did it two days and vomited both days. I didn't do it yesterday and felt fine.
