I don't know, but it does. Do a "Search" on the net for oil pulling. You'll get a bunch of information on it.

I also notice that my joints don't pop anymore. Like when you bend your knees?? It has alot of benefits. I thought it was a bunch of crap (as I was reading out it) but thought, what the heck...I'll try it and disprove it.

Well, the opposite happend. lol

I would like to give this a try. Do you microwave your CO before you use it so it is in liquid form instead of a solid?

No, I actually have a Jar in my bathroom (I have another on in the kitchen) I use it as a lotion and for Oil pulling. I just put a little chunk in my mouth and chew it to get it melted, then I start the "pulling". No need to melt it, your mouth will do that for you.

After your first "Pull" when you brush your teeth afterwards....OMG, you will be amazed and keep running your tongue over your teeth. You also can oil pull any time of day. Alot of people swear by doing it 2 or three times a day.

You could do it this afternoon, before dinner and/or right before bed. Just don't do it "right" after a meal, when you are "Full". So, you have plenty of time to get started today.

The other benefits I noticed in a few days. OH, for me? It kills hunger too, for some reason.

What sold me was how my teeth looked and how my mouth felt after dong it.

The first time was hard. I had to build up to the 20 minutes. Now? It's no big deal.

I love it.
Hi Tooter!
I lovelovelove doing this also. You will find so much positive info on it if you check around. I don't have to use "sensitive" toothpaste any more. It will tighten loose teeth right away if you have any. Mouth feels SO clean! And many benefits to the whole system.

Someone posted that they had asked their dentist about the process and was told that it did not do any good. Well duh. (no offense meant) I guess it is cutting into someones livelihood. JMHO.

I will always keep on with this.

What an education reading LC sites has been for me. I'm going to try this with coconut oil that is handy - and then maybe get some of the recommended oil (sunflower seed).

Be careful with oil pulling. I started out as many, doing it for just a few minutes and finally getting up to 20 minutes every day. My gums were never dry, and my breath was always "Sunflowery". Before I knew it, I wanted to follow the oil pulling with a swishing of Bragg's vinegar, and before I knew it, I was following that with lettuce extract. I was getting all the benefits of eating a lovely dressed salad without having to swallow. Luckily I was able to stop before I went on to the hard stuff, like Steak pills.

I wonder if anyone has tried this with snake oil?

Just tried this with EVCO, and it really does get a lot of little bits out of your teeth! Too bad I had some cocoa nibs just now. They looked very clean. Going to keep this up for a week...

I do the oil pulling and ACV but have never tried the lettuce extract. Do I need EVLE or will the VLE do?

lol I don't feel so odd now about having my CO in the bathroom. I oil pull as well but really need to get back to it. It definitely makes your mouth feel cleaner than anything else and everytime I have something stuck in my teeth I grab my oil instead of a toothpick because like was said nothing clears food out of your teeth like oil pulling.

and I noticed the difference in my teeth color instantly they were extremely white and shiny after oil pulling.

Also, It took me awhile to get into the Habit of oil pulling (just like anything else)

Does it work? Yeah, if you actually DO IT! This past summer hubby and I were on our boat and I had not been oil pulling in awhile (I got lazy) Out of the blue I had a toothache and swelling (infection) in a tooth that had already had a root canal done to it (Actually 2 root canals on the same tooth, but that's another story). I KNEW it was going to be bad. What could I do out on the lake? Well, I had my coconut oil with me (always travel with it) and Started "Pulling" about 3 times in that one day. The next day all symptoms were gone.

I AM a believer.

Also, the oil pulling will actually PULL food partials out of your teeth better then brushing your teeth or even using dental floss. I kid you not. This is also something you have to get used to, because as you continue to pull, you will feel those partials in your mouth and you will see them when you spit it out. That's also how you know (besides how great your mouth looks and feels) how clean your mouth actually is.
Yep! It works! As it is an anti-microbial/anti-viral............

I love oil pulling. Unfortunately, it doesn't love me. I seem to get pimples on my chin whenever I do this. I am tempted to try again. I get acne sometimes, but never as often as with OP.
