Did my first pull today, it wasn't bad at all, I too think its because I can eat VCO right off the spoon. My teeth and mouth feel wonderful.

So far I've used Sesame and VCO to OP in the last week. VCO makes my mouth feel fresher and cleaner than the sesame oil.

Next ... sunflower!

Hi all, just popping in. I did oil pulling about a year ago and then just got out of it. I think I was using too much oil and couldn't keep it in my mouth long enough. I just did sesame oil and find that the easiest. It has a nice taste and not an oily taste IMO. Tried some coconut oil and about barfed. My oil was in the fridge and smelled fine but after swishing tasted a bit rancid.

I wanted to comment on the castor oil thing. Someone said they didn't want to try motor oil. That would be castrol not castor.

I have castor oil I use for making soap, it is so thick, not sure I could do that.

I know that the site I read about OP on a year ago talked about the oil removing metals from you body. Trace metals and that i why sometimes fillings were coming out. I have fillings that are amalgam and have not had any issues so far.

I have never read about using CO though. I'm sure it would be beneficial to the teeth but oil pulling is for the entire body. Has anyone researched the CO oil pulling? I got to page 9 and couldn't focus anymore

I have a question....Forgive me if this has already been answered, I just read the first few pages of this thread.

I bought extra virgin coconut oil today at Walmart w/ the intention of trying the oil pulling thing in the morning......I already opened the oil (coconut bark) am I suppose to put it in the fridge or is it okay on my kitchen counter?

I keep mine out all the time. If it goes over 76 degrees or so, it will liquify, which I like, but you may prefer it to stay solid.

It's fine on the Kitchen Counter. If you put it in the fridge it will get rock hard. It's hard to Oil pull like that. lol

Yep. Kinda drawl it through your teeth, like when you were a Kid doing that with Jello in your mouth. lol

Also, make sure you brush your teeth afterwards.

I just finished and brushed....I am so glad I came upon this thread, I really hope this will help with some of my issues I have been having with my teeth.

It was not bad at all...I happen to LOVE coconut so the smell did not bother me at all, the only thing that made me a little nervous was the texture, but I think that was just because it was my first time, I will be doing this probably 2-3 times a day.

Thank you all for the wonderful tips and advice, this has really been a great thread.

I bought tea tree oil mouth wash at whole food. I use to use Listerine faithfully. its been 2days now and my teeth feel cleaner then when i use both the pre whitening wash and then the regular mouth was.

Surprisenly I brushed my finger over my teeth and i heard a squeaking noise . (never heard that before) and my teeth feel clean through out the day.

I like to use J/A/S/O/N Sea fresh toothpaste and mouthwash after oil pulling. It really is a great combo! I use sesame oil, coconut oil didn't give me the same benefits.
