Let it be known by all interested (nosey) parties that I passed the exam with FLYING colors. She said OMG I can really see a difference in your teeth and gums. She said the last time I had a cleaning there were a few spots that were a little swollen and tender. This time she had absolutely no bleeding (those stupid sharp instruments that they love to dig into your gums). She said I had NO plaque and only one little stain on the inside of my bottom front tooth that she said came off real easy.

One thing I did notice is in the past when they would clean in the back of my upper teeth they would feel real tender. This time I had no tenderness and in fact didn't even feel her back there.

I didn't tell her what I was doing until I got her feedback. Then I educated her on OP and of course she had never heard of it. She said "whatever you are doing - continue". You will NEVER have to worry about losing your teeth.
Also she said I didn't have to come back for six months and the last 4 years I've been going every 3 months.

So girls ..... it sure has worked for me! Now get busy and make your dental appointments so we can get more feedback.

:c lap:

Cheryl! This is great to hear.. In al the OP threads around, I think you're the first to ever go to the dentist and report back... Thank you!!!

If that doesn't keep us going, what will!

I just admit the gal looked kinda shocked when I told her what I was doing and she did say she is going to do some research. She was very impressed.

Now when are you going to the dentist so we can add you to the list of OP success stories?

I wanted to add that the 20 minutes are flying by for me in the morning. I first have my coffee and then on my way to the bedroom to get my clothes I start OPing. By the time I get back - check the computer, set out the husband's breakfast - 20 minutes are gone. I don't mind doing it anymore!

I have kept up with all of the posts even though I haven't posted on this thread for awhile.

I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to respond! I have googled the info., but I have not purchased the products. I would love to get them, but I have had other things to purchase, etc. There's never enough money, or I just want too much!

Cheryl, yes, I do need to get to the dentist. I have so much other stuff going on right now, that's not high on my list...

I think I'm ready to commit to the OP softening my feet.. Heels, side of big toe and the top of my big toes are all staying nice and soft, and I haven't had to, and haven't done, any real 'work' on them... Just a tiney bit to smooth, but no 'hard core sanding'...

My teeth are looking great as are my gums...

I just looked at my heels and there are still NO cracks... I've done nothing to them.....

I was wondering how that Ped-Egg might work on the bottoms of your feet. It apparently takes off the rough skin and deposits the skin into a little receptacle. I've seen it on TV and in Walgreens. Looks interesting!

I also wonder if any of you use water piks..... I floss all the time - but wanted to know the pros and cons of that appliance.

I gave up smoking for Lent, and honestly, I do think this has helped that.. I wear the patch, but when I've done that before, I got bad cravings for a cig, and I was bad.. I never really had the strength to quit all the way. .Had one in the mornings and one at night.. So far, I haven't done that.. Either I'm a lot stronger now, or it's helping with that...

Oh and I had posted about this cough I had that just hung on and on after getting sick back late Oct/early Nov.. The cough is gone!

Hello Rocky
I'm happy to see what oil pulling has done for you. And I'm hoping it can do the same for me.
How long were you oil pulling before you noticed the stains from pop/coffee and cigs were gone? The cough gone ??

One problem I've always had whenever I tried to stop smoking was an awful, weird taste that would drive me crazy . Even after a few weeks of not smoking and brushing my teeth, mouthwashes, gums, etc.... nothing seem to ever take it away.....I'll really hoping oil pulling will.

As for the cough....me too. After only a few days of doing oil pulling I have found my throat isn't as sore & my cough greatly reduced....nice to know there's hope for that being gone too. Thank you ....you are an inspiration

2nd day of sesame oil pulling. At the end of the 20 minutes I noticed the stuff in my mouth (sesame-saliva mix) kinda tastes like peanuts.

Cheryl, I'm not getting a PEd Egg.... Looking at them, it looks like just a back and forth action.. I'm thinking I'll get a, well shoot, I'm blanking of what it's called now.. I'l have to find it and let you know...

My feet were never awul, got worse in the summer.. But it always bothers me to have any rough. .I think when it's flip flop weather, I'l have abetter idea of how this is affecting my feet...

I forgot, my elbow, it's all nice and soft now too..

Hi Laurie,

Gosh, I started asking my family after my first pull if they could see a difference... I didn't really have bad staining, tho I know I had it.. I used to always get comments on my white teeth, that stopped a few years ago... I want that back!

It seems to me, different people, have better success with different oils... I've never used anything but Sunflower, but when that's gone, I think I'll try to coconut oil Cheryl uses, as she PROMISES me there is NO coconut taste... I hate coconut...

All the info on OP says sesame or sunflower is the best to use, but when I read other peoples posts about uising different oils, I'm not so sure..

My cough wasn't a smoker cough, it was from that stupid sick I had for months. It's so gone!!! It actually went away pretty fast...

I'm so happy yours is almost gone too!!!!

Where did you get your sunflower oil?

My brother who lives in England used olive oil and he said he was burping all day long after..... I guess he can't find the CO over there.

Of course I'm not Rocky
But I can tell you I found my sunflower oil at our local Walmart, I don't recall the price, but it was reasonable. I REALLY had to look hard to find it though.

I hope this helps you

I heard from one poster that the sesame oil left a horrible after taste .... did you experience that?

Cheryl, what a PITA to find it this time!

I had gotten it at Whole Foods before, and when I went for more, it had been discountined.. I called al the WF I could, and found 3 bottles at one... I'm thinking that after they are gone, that's it..I'm not ordering online...

I will probably try the sesame oil at that point, tho I know it won't be quite as non tasting, as my sunflower oil... Oh and I want to try the coconut oil you use!

BTW, I do know I can use the grocery store sunflower oil, but that's all refined, and that's 2nd best.. I want to stick with the unrefined, cold pressed as rec'd...

Your poor brother... I used OO my very first pull...

Tell him to look for unrefined, cold pressed sunflower or sesame {NOT toasted} oil .. Surely he can find those over there? Or do we need to make a trip to take him some?
