Anyone tried lipobind??

I don't know if you have this in america yet. It's been used in UK and Europe for a while (On google I saw someone in Canada had tried it?) and just hit the shelves in Australia. Have you tried it? If so what did you think?? Here is a blurb about it :

Product Detail
At Last! The Medically Certified Fat Binding Pill Available Without Prescription

Forget about all the diet fads, forget about just eating salad and forget about pills that are more expensive than effective. If you want to control your weight and fight the fat in food, then learn more about the incredible medically certified pill set to take the nation by storm.

Why LIPOBind

Weight problems are on the increase around the world. In our modern society, it is easy to get into a vicious cycle where you eat too much, consume fatty foods, become less active and put on weight.

In combination with a balanced diet and regular exercise, LIPObind can help in your efforts to attain and maintain your wellbeing weight. This is the weight where you feel fit and healthy and can avoid weight-related complications.

LIPObind works by "binding" the fat in food and naturally removing it from your system. Fat contains twice as many calories as carbohydrates and proteins, so reducing excess fat can have a big impact on weight management.

LIPObind also helps decrease food cravings, suppress appetite and maintain normal and healthy cholesterol levels.

What's in LIPOBind

Unlike many weight management treatments, LIPObind is 100% natural. There are no allergens, artificial colours or flavours, added salt, gluten or preservatives and no prescription is needed.

LIPObind is simply derived from an organic source - the cactus Opuntia Ficus Indica - which is then made into a patented fibre complex -NeOpuntia.

LIPObind comes in convenient packs of 60 tablets. It's easy to pop a blister pack in your bag, ready for your next meal.

How does it work?
Taken after a meal, LIPObind stops excess fat from food being absorbed into your body.

The non-soluble fibres in LIPObind bind dietary fat as soon as they come into contact with food in the stomach. This prevents the fat passing through the walls of the small intestine and ending up where you don't want it.

Instead, the fat molecules are safely bound and naturally excreted from the system.

LIPObind doesn't remove all fat. (Your body needs some fat to function in a healthy way.) Tests show that it can remove 27% of fat and up to 150 calories from a standard meal*.

Suppress appetite and decrease food cravings

LIPObind also contains viscous fibres, which expand to form a stable fluid gel and slow the rate at which food leaves your stomach. This means you feel fuller longer, so it's easier to postpone your next meal or just eat a little less.

These same viscous fibres minimise a rise in blood sugar levels (known as "sugar spike"), therefore lessening cravings for sugary foods.

Control cholesterol too

LIPObind also helps to maintain normal and healthy cholesterol levels in two very clever ways.

Firstly it reduces the absorption of dietary cholesterol. Secondly, it captures bile acid (the fluid that aids digestion) so the liver has to burn additional cholesterol to create more bile acid.

What does LIPObind contain?

LIPObind is a patented fibre complex of organic plant source and contains the following ingredients:

Active ingredient: Opuntia ficus indica leaf powder (535mg)

Excipients: Cellulose - mycrocrystalline, Calcium hydrogen phosphate, Silicon dioxide, Povidone, Magnesium stearate

How often should I take LIPObind?

The amount and frequency of consumption of LIPObind varies according to each individual, their body size and on how much fat each meal contains. Generally we recommend that if you wish to lose weight, take 2-3 LIPObind tablets after each main meal, increasing to 3-4 tablets with a high-fat meal. If you want to help maintain your desired weight and general wellbeing, take 1-2 LIPObind tablets after each main meal, increasing to 2-3 tablets with a high-fat meal.

How long should I take LIPObind?

Once you have attained your ideal weight, LIPObind can be used as a daily helping hand to live a healthier lifestyle by binding and removing the excess fat in food.

Is LIPObind suitable for vegetarians?

Yes LIPObind is suitable for vegetarians as it comes from an organic plant source and has all natural ingredients.

How safe is LIPObind?

LIPObind is natural, well tolerated and is considered safe and suitable for long-term consumption. You should always read the label and use only as directed. And if in doubt, speak with your pharmacist or general practitioner

Remember there is no "magic pill" for weight loss. If there was the product would be sooo expensive and probably hard to find. Be wary of what you put in your body and always check with your doctor.

So I take it you haven't actually tried it? (the question I actually asked - not your opinion otherwise. I'm not so stupid as to think it was a magic pill and have a appt with my dr tmw morning, but thanks for your concern )

I've never heard of it but seems like it would be counterproductive while on a low carb plan, especially Atkins (don't know much about others). But it says....

I know on Atkins, dietary fat is key. This kind of sounds like Alli which is available here in the U.S.

IMHO, picking a plan, reading the book, and sticking with it 100% will give you more success then a pill, especially in the long run with maintaining.

I've never heard of it. But it does sound a bit like xenical. do you know of any side affects like accidents? is it over the counter? I am curious now.

Yeah that's what I thought - binding with fat when you're on atkins... where the whole goal is fat saites your appetite. I'm not saying I'm going on it - I was just wondering if you guys had heard of it, and if so, what your experiences were

What is excess fat? How does a pill determine how much fat is excess?
Anyway I have joined the "Fat is Good, Fat is my Friend" crowd. As long as it's found in naturally healthily prepared food... and not in donuts and fried chicken! And then is it really the FAT at fault,.............. mysterious music playing......

From reading it, apparently it doesn't have the side affects of Xenical. I've never been on that either but apparently it makes you "leak" . Supposedly it doesn't make the fat "pass" through your system like Xenical, but rather binds to your "left overs" rather than absorbed into your body.

Apparently it's around the $45 mark for 60 tabs. 2-3 after each meal. Sounds expensive.

Sounds a bit like Alli. Maybe the same thing under a different name?

i've used lipobind and i think it is really good! it is one of the best slimmimg aids out there, i dont think it is that expensive to buy, its around £25.00 in the UK. its not very common but works really well. i have no regrets of buying it and have managed to lose 2 stone using the tablets and a calorie controlled diet.

you should try it for sure, i hope it works well for you!

I smell a rat.

This is your first ever post Kirsty and you chose to dig up (i.e had to actively search) a post from over 4 months ago to respond to?

Germany doesn't use the Mark anymore, the currency has been the Euro for quite some time. The current price in the Netherlands is roughly around € 35,-

I just watched a commercial on the homeshopping channel (I could'nt help myself...) and got online to find out if Lipobind is any good. From what I read in the link posted earlier I'm even more sceptic.

For the record; I think your nose is'nt wrong when you say that you smell a rat.

lol sorry I didn't mean mark as in currency, I'm actually in Australia hence the $.

"around the $45 mark" is just an expression.. like "around the $45 figure"

This is also my 1st post, but everyone has to start somewhere. I actually found this thread by googling lipobind, not searching forums.

I have started taking lipobind, but only been on it for 3 days. In that time I have lost 4lbs, but I can't honestly say if thats the tablets or the change in diet or increase in exercise or a combination of all of it. But I have found it increasingly difficult to lose weight over the last couple of years, so I'm happy with the results so far.

It is not the same as Alli (or Xenical which is another name for Alli). Alli is a lipase inhibitor - it basically prevents the lipase enzymes from digesting the fat, so the fat passes undigested through your system. I have used these and followed an extremely low fat diet and still had the gross side effects. And in 7 weeks I only lost 7lbs.

Lipobind binds the fat in a fat-fibre complex. Therefore, there is no leakage, but the fat is still undigested.

To be honest, I doubt these pills would work on their own without diet & exercise, but I do think they help. I only bought these because they seem a lot safer than other diet pills - like thermogenics which basically prevent re-uptake of norepinephine, keeping you stimulated. These are a bad idea as they raise blood pressure and increase the force of contraction of your heart, essentially overworking it. They can also cause palpitations and other heart problems.

I have just started Lipobind, would like some opinions please.

Well this is the first time i've ever posted anything online.Ok well in 24 and have had problems with my weight for years, so this year I set myself a goal to lose a stone by June, which I feel is reasonable. Started great lost half a stone in a month. I do an hour of exercise a day either gym, swim or aerobics, so I know I'm putting the time in and I eat three health meals a day.
Now the problem is I've got stuck and no more weight is coming off, so I start Lipobind on Monday hoping it would give me another kick start. I weigh myself once a week, so no news yet.
Could you let me know if you've tried it and whether it work for you.
Thank you

Thank you for replying, i've had a look over the current types of pills and unfortunately I can't afford proactol, it's quite expensive. I thought lipobind would be a good alternative, however after 10 days i have lost any weight, but have had really bad tummy pains and toilet issues.
I'm going to stick to the gym and swimming for the next month and see if that makes any change.
thanks again.
