HELLO!

WAY TO GO CHIC!!!!Congrats on all your hard work!

What a crap filled day! PERIOD!

I finished my lower body workout. Now I feel better about the way my day went. It really wasn't a bad day. I just had to remind some people exactly where they are on my list. One thing about me...what you see is what you get. If I have something on my mind I'll say it reguardless of who it is I am talking to. I'm such a jerk sometimes.

Enough of that. Work is over, workout is finished and I feel pretty freakin' good right now. Details are in my journal.

I read this quote from another fourm I belong to. "If you refuse to stand behind our armed forces, please feel free to stand in front of them!"HELL YEAH! I have been thinking about putting that in my signature.

Good evening, my friends. I will never remember everything that I just read in the last 6 pages, so please forgive me for being vague. My day consisted of a 10 a.m. funeral service for my great aunt. After that, we had an appt. to finish our taxes, and then I spent the rest of the day doing both of my daughters FAFSA forms. Fun stuff (not).

Marsha - I'm here babe. Thanks for asking. I hope you get your squash cooked. I've never made a spaghetti squash, but I have heard that you can poke holes all over it with a fork and microwave it for so long -- sorry, don't know how long. Then, you get rid of the seeds, and take a fork down through the flesh so it is stringy, like spaghetti. That's the best I know how to tell you. You can also just cut it like you did, scoop out all the seeds, then put flat side down in a pan with a little water in the bottom and bake it until soft. Then take out and run a fork through the flesh side to get "spaghetti" strings.

Sorry your daughter has the flu. I just heard on the news that the flu shot is not covering this strain of flu that is going around.

Chic - CONGRATULATIONS on your loss!!! I just knew something good was going to come out of all your working out at the gym.

ADLMA - I'm glad your girls are better.

Trish - I'm glad you are finally starting to lose. That would be so cool to have a ranch/farm called TnT. My dad and his wife have a horse stables called Nauvoo Stables because it is located on Nauvoo Rd. They don't live on Nauvoo Rd though, they live one road over from the stables, but the stables can been seen from the back windows in their house.

Phil - Glad you finished your workout feeling better. I like your saying. Thank God for the great service men and women, who stand up and fight for our freedom each and every day.

Hi MG, Mikki, Dani, Kathy, Tom, Metqa and anyone else I've missed. Have a good night.

Thanks, Freeing. She lived a good long life - 87 years old. She had a stroke in 2007 and they found she had cancer. She died in her sleep, which was the way she wanted to go.

Trish - Thanks. I love crockpot meals!!!

DH actually made dinner tonight -- sausage and nothing else. I was doing the FAFSA forms online for the girls, so he cooked. I swear I inhaled my sausage (only 1) and he had 2. I was hungrier than I thought, so I may have a piece of cheese soon, before hitting the hay. My doc appt. is tomorrow. Hopefully he will know why I am not losing, but maybe he will just say hormone-related. I'll let ya know.

Phil - Nice pic!

Thanks Marsha and Chic for the condolences.

Nite all.

Evening all you funny peoples!!

I'm wading through the last pages....whew!

CHIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GIRL!~~ I am SO excited for you! All your hard work is paying off! Yipppeeee! What are you doing to celebrate? What does your hubby and family think?

Freeing: I concur! We, as Americans are deeply grateful for the sacrifices that your WHOLE family gives for our freedom. It is hard for a military family with your hubby being gone so much and all you do to keep things at home going. We cannot express our gratitude adequately. May I just say "G-d bless you and your family!"

Marsha: Great job on your loss!! Waaaahooooo! I'm so sorry your daughter is ill. We all had our flu shot and I'm really worried that it will not keep us from getting the flu. I pray your daughter feels better soon!

Trisha and Tom: How are y'all? I'm so thrilled you are losing and clothes feeling lloser! Get a NEW scale!

Oh, I LOVE spaghetti squash!! We grew some last year in our Earthbox garden and they are sooooo delish! I like them with butter and black pepper! They are SOOO versatile!

Well guys, you can smack me now. I went OFF OFF OFF last night. I had had an emotional situation at church with my daughter's friend's parent and I ate all day and it wasn't pretty.

Sooooo, this morning, I was UP like 6 pounds! Ain't that a kicker??? Well, I DID enjoy it, but today I'm back on the wagon. I'm sure it'll take me a few days to get the water weight off, but hey, I'm not sweating it.

I am enjoying my flax oooopsies and the Almond Joy Coconut Bark. Yummmm yummm!

Hiya Marsha,

How much do you take and is it helping?

My family was told by our geneticist to take the L-Carnitine for our genetic carnitine deficiency. We have been taking a prescription, but she says the L is better.

Also, Dr. Teitlebaum, a noted Chronic Fatigue Syndrome dr recommends L-Carnitine for people with CFIDS and Fibromyalgia, as it is shown that they have lower than normal levels.

Soooo, I just ordered it and wondered how it works for you?

COCONUT BARK - ALMOND JOY

Recipe By :
Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories :

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
6 Tablespoons coconut oil -- organic! virgin, expeller-pressed, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon xylitol -- or stevia - more to taste
2 Tablespoons unsweetened coconut meat
2 ounces almonds -- raw, chopped

Melt the coconut oil to a liquid, add in vanilla, cocoa powder and sweetener. Stir to combine and blend well.

Blend nuts and coconut shreds into chocolate mixture.

I use an 8 x 8 cake pan lined with parchment. Pour mixture into pan and tip pan to evenly spread to even thickness.

Place pan in freezer on level shelf and let sit 10 minutes or so. It will harden quickly and breaks with a snap.

Hiiiiiiiiiiii MG !!! what are flax oopsies??? I hope the situation gets better for you

Just got this article in my e-mail..kinda helps explain why the oil pulling works....

FAT LOSS - Swishing the mouth with oil before doing cardio

This particular technique is a case of taking a scientific study and running with it in terms of practical applications. The specific study showed that the mere presence of fat in the mouth (not even swallowed) resulted in the liberation of fatty acids into the blood stream from fat cells.

It sounds strange but basically, this means when you have fat in the mouth (e.g. olive oil or vegetable oil is what I used), it signals the body to release fat from the fat cells and into the bloodstream. It doesn't have to be swallowed - the body senses the fats in the mouth and responds to it.

So here was my thought process...take a spoonful of olive oil and swish it around for about a minute or so, then spit it back out. Then immediately go do some cardio! The liberated fatty acids will be burned by the cardio. If you do this and don't do anything to burn the liberated fat, it'll most likely just get taken back up by the fat cells again.

The Verdict:

I was on a low-carb diet at the time I tried this technique and noticed an IMMEDIATE increase in my energy levels . At this point, I was doing cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and normally, I don't have a whole lot of energy in the morning. When I swished with the oil, I actually did feel more energetic and I believe the process was effective for increasing fatty acids in the bloodstream.

But here's the issue...what I DON'T know is how effective a long-term strategy this is. Does this cause a significant increase in fat-burning? Enough to be a useful technique? It's a definite maybe.

Signalling the body to begin opening up fat cells faster is a good thing as it helps you increase energy levels and access that stored bodyfat more easily.

Dr Atkins recommended it for a slower metabolism boost. To be honest I havent noticed anything from it, but they say it works better with exercise so we will see. I take 500 mg a day. It is supposed to help with chronic fatigue and weakness.

Hiya Trisha!

Lisa shared a variation with me as to how she makes her Oooopsies. She uses mayo (3 Tb) and adds 2-4 TB flax.

I used (3 TB) whole milk ricotta (very thick, it has guar gum in it) and 2 TB golden flax meal. Everything else is the same on the Oooopsies. I bake mine for 40 minutes.
