Everyones pics are so great!! You are all so pretty!
MG-I have told my dsh before that I think I have body dysmorphic disorder. I just still see the old me when I look in the mirror. I really need to take some new pictures of myself, maybe that will make the difference? I wanted to tell you too, when you posted the thank you to me the other day I thought maybe you were mistaken on who had posted something Then I finished reading and figured out what was going on!! It took me a long time too, to realize that losing the weight slow wasn't the worst thing that could happen, NOT losing the weight at all was the worst. And I was losing! We can get to our goal, we just need to believe in ourselves!!![]() (oh, and my "back boobs" are going away too!!!)NOW YOU JUST STAY IN REMISSION LADY! DO YOU HEAR ME!!!! Have fun with your guests! I love having a full house-maybe that's why I had 6 kids?? Can't wait for LOTS of grandkids!! Okay my accountability for the day- 60 min yoga, 10 min @4 mph/treadmill, still going to do 30 min weights on stablility ball. B-tea w/cream, LC custard L-crackslaw S-don't know yet D-grilled chicken diced over romaine w/cucumbers, onion and avocado-creamy italian dressing Off to do my weights now. You all be good now and quit picking on Phil!! ![]() Kathy

Nothing yet. he said it would take 4-5 days so I dont expect to hear anything until next week *sighs*. Glad you had a nice visit with your friend. I have very few friends, but the ones I have are long time true friends. I dont get to spend as much time with them as I would like though. When we go to Florida, we plan to meet my oldest friend from grade school for lunch. She moved there last year and isnt too far from Toms parents.

Good evening.
MG - Those garlic and cheese flax rolls sound good. I may have to give those a try soon. Thanks for sharing the recipe with us. ![]() Trish - I so wish I had a country line dance tape to exercise with! Where did you get yours? Was it a homemade tape? I hate exercising but I love to dance. Chic - I am so happy you had a nice visit with your friend. 9-11 is a day I will never forget as long as I live. ![]() Kathy - I didn't know what crack slaw was until earlier this week, when I finally emailed my friend (she is on LCF site, too) and asked her what the heck crack slaw is. She at me and couldn't believe I didn't know what it was. She then emailed me the recipe. I love that gal.I made the chicken thighs for dinner and Cabbage and Sausage Stuffing (I halved the recipe since it was just DH and I and I used a 2 qt. caserole dish). Here is the recipe. . . it was really good: Sausage Stuffing 1 pound sausage -- seasoned 2 large onions -- finely chopped 3 stalks celery -- finely chopped (3 to 4) 2 tablespoons butter -- (2 to 4) 1 head cabbage -- finely chopped 15 ounces chicken broth -- canned 3 eggs -- beaten Seasonings How To Prepare: This has all the taste of real stuffing, without the bread. You won't miss the bread and can "stuff" yourself as much as you like. Saute your onion and celery in the butter. Add sausage, brown, crumbling the sausage finely. Let the oils and butter brown on the bottom of the pan to get that great carbonation flavor. Add seasonings you like such as thyme, oregano, pepper, salt, to taste. My sausage was preseasoned, so I just added pepper. Add cabbage and continue cooking. Add chicken broth to moisten as dish starts to get dry. I ended up using a whole can. Cook until cabbage is cooked and tender. Put in a 3-4 qt baking dish and add the eggs. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20-30 minutes. Actually we didn't have an oven when I made this and we cooked ours in the microwave for five minutes. You may need to adjust some things to get it the way you like dressing.

Evening Y'all!
Checking in before I retire and go watch CSI. (my FAV show!) Michele: I pray you MIL gets a good report. Please let us know how she's doing. Deanna: Thank you for your kind words about my pics! Kathy: Yeah, it REALLY helps to post the pictures, or at least upload them to your picture site. Some people use PhotoBucket, but I like Flickr. Both are free and you can make them private to where only YOU can see the pictures. OR, you can share them here with all of us. It really helps the BDD. Here's what I had to eat today and I'm done for the day: Breakfast: Whey Protein shake w/ organic flax seeds Lunch: Organic raw baby spinach Roasted wild salmon Sour cream olives Snack: Golden Flax muffin and organic butter Supper: Oriental stir fry veggies and organic ground beef Snack: Whey Protein Shake w/ organic flax seeds G'night all! Our friends are coming tomorrow evening and spending the weekend with us! And YES Deanna, the noise is much different! ![]() Last edited by RealFoodLiving; 01-17-2008 at 05:51 PM.. |

hello ~ newbie here.
I just got home with my CLA/GLA combo from wal-mart and I'm excited to start it tomorrow! I just wanted to check with you experienced folk and make sure I've got the right stuff and the right plan to take it, etc. Here's what I got: Spring Valley Borage Oil 500 mg softgels The CLA was under the "C's" and is labeled as CLA. The brand is Rexall, but it says Tonalin off to the side as well so I'm pretty sure it's the same stuff. Those are 1000 mg softgels As far as I understand it I should take 5 of the CLA and 2-4 of the GLA. With food. Thanks in advance for your help. I hope this is the right place to post my questions! |

MG - YOU ARE ONE HOT MOMMA!!!!!!! I love the dress you have on. You look fantastic keep up the good work and keep the faith my friend cuz you are truly one of the chosen ones.
Trish - thanks for the shirt manufacturers I will search ebay. I used to have to wear them for work now I just love them. Also thanks for the exercise video suggestion, I will search those out too. Phil - you may want to check the brake lines, may have a crack or small hole. Dad was mechanic for 35yrs. Michele - that recipe for the cabbage and sausage stuffing looks awesome, can't wait to try it on Monday. Will make a little rice for my son to have with it. Also good luck w/ your MIL, my dad has an enlarged heart and pace/defib so I can relate. Sorry if I missed anyone - Clean Eating to All!!!!!!!

Aaahhhggg!
I've been taking the CLA each morning this week without incident. This morning, I invited my DBF over to have some cabbage soup with me( I'd taken the five capsules about 10 min prior) and immediately upon finishing my soup I got a terrible stomachache. How embarrasing:blush: I don't usually eat breakfast so early and I had taken the others with milk,(or bacon) I think the early Breakie/CLA combo did me in! ![]() Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ROFW: Rolling on the floor whining!

I am such a lurker, but wanted to say hello to all. I follow this thread since I have been taking the combo for about three months now. I've been bad about recording measurements but noticed changes in my clothes during Dec even though there wasn't much weight loss. All of your stories and photos are very inspiring and very helpful when times get tough. Thank you.

I bought Tonalin CLA 1000mg and Borage oil 500mg at Walmart yesterday.
My question is if the the recommended daily dosage of CLA is 3400mg am I still suppossed to take five 1000mg capsules of CLA? Also, do you take both the CLA and Borage Oil in the am at the same time? And my last question is if you decide to up your dosage of Borage Oil to 4 caps instead of 2 do you split this up or take all four at once? Sorry for all the questions, I'm sure that some are redundant but it's hard to find the answers throught the search feature because CLA and GLA are in almost all of the posts!

MG- You look AWESOME!!! What a difference!
OK and for the sad news. I have somehow gained 2.5lbs in 2 days? Maybe TOM? Maybe not enough calories? Maybe no more combo??? I am really not sure. I am first going to up my calories(they were between 12-1300) to 15-1600 and see what happens. If nothing then I will patiently await TOM. If still no change I will run to the computer screaming at myself for not buying double doses of my CLA/GLA when we had the money Then I will wait again until we get paid and buy 5 of each CLA and GLA so I will not run out if this is what will happen.... I haven't changed anything major in my diet, but I did run out of combo. I am not sure what my body is doing, but I was so close to the 160's I could spit and hit them...uggh...onward and upward I guess

For the doses of the combo you have to read what % of the 1000 mg is actually the CLA-it should tell you on the bottle. The brand I bought this time is 2 capsules or 2000 mg of which 78-84% is actual CLA. So I round it to 80% or 1600 actual mgs of CLA. This means I need to take 4 capsules for 3200 mg or 5 capsules for 4000 mg to meet the daily recommended requirement of 3400 mg. Here's a good link about how to take CLA

Another congrats to you Mikki!!!
Free....I'm betting it's just water retention due to that jerk TOM! I think that is the main reason I don't way myself very often. My main way of measuring myself is by clothes sizes. Don't do anything drastic now...just keep going forward with what you are doing. |
