Thank you Trish! I love your avi too! I am not a negative person until it comes to myself and my weight. Isn't that strange how we are like that? I am a very upbeat person and generally very positive.
You and Chic are both right......no more negativity...... I too am so glad to have met all of you, what a great (and gorgeous) bunch we have!!
My avi is my son and I on his 27th bd last month. He is my only child and he has given me 3 beautiful dsgds.
I'm glad to hear you had fun at your party last night and am also thankful to hear as well that no one was injured when the slope fell in.....
Mountain girl~ I'm sorry you are in a funk, finances tend to do that to us at times don't they. We have had our share of times like that. Seems like there is a point in almost every winter that we hit it for a time. DSH is a timber faller, so we have our lean times when the snow gets too deep for him to work. This year may be an exception, I have a great job now so hopefully we will bypass it.
Chic~ I agree with Trish that you should be our cheerleader.... you do a great job at the pep talks!!
Trish~ love that wedding dress!
Mikki~ great pics! WTG on the 40 lbs and 30 inches!! That is awesome!
to eveyone else, I have to run for now. I need to exercise (mabye, very crampy so I may skip it today)and get ready for work tomorrow.
We brought our DSGD 6yr old home with us from church today so I didn't get anything accomplished. We sure had a great afternoon though!

That's funny Trish, thanks, I don't feel old enough to have a son that old. (most days anyway!) I was 18 when I had him. He's the best thing that happened to me bsides my DSH

Tom~it has changed so much and more changes being made now. We love it here, the rain gets to me sometimes, but not very often. We've been getting lots of snow this past month. Very out of character for us to have snow on the ground for so long.... DSH needs to get back to work but it's waist deep out there so they can't get in to work right now.

Phil~ you and my hubby would get along great.

Metqa - I take mine with lc or active yogurt due to taking both liquid GLA and CLA. Let me tell you that is the only way I can take the liquid GLA (nasty tasting) also the CLA is very sweet for me so the yogurt cuts the sweetness. You may even try it with a protein shake as your BREAKFAST cuz it truly is the catalyst for the day.

Just wanted to say good morning to everyone.

Trish - I thought I had mentioned your avatar last evening but I went back to read my posts and I did not. You and Tom look marvelous! You are a very pretty lady. I think my DH would like that shirt Tom is wearing.

You are so pretty in the wedding dress! I love that pic because it is a hoot with the dollar bills in the garter...sounds like something fun I would do.

Jilly - Don't be scared about your pics, you look fine. I thought that was your DH in the photo, too. Congrats on getting to onederland!

....getting coffee.......be right back

Back.

Mikki - I just take a slice of hard salami that I get from the deli, and spread some cream cheese on it and roll it up and I usually put a toothpick in the middle to hold it. Sometimes I just roll up a slice of ham and swiss cheese or provolone and I really like those Mt. Olive baby sweet pickles made with Splenda. I usually cut them lengthwise down the center and then I put it in the middle of my ham and cheese roll-ups. These are nice, convenient lunch ideas that I use when I worked.

Trish - I am anxiously awaiting the pics of the sink, once Tom has it finished.

Eats so far today:

B - coffee w/heavy cream; 2 poached eggs. (I'm still hungry! I think I need some fat.)

Observation on myself - I have not lost weight since I ran out of my Nature's Way Borage Oil capsules (312 mg. GLA each capsule). I have been taking another brand that provides 300 mg. GLA each capsule. I'm wondering if that little extra 36 mg. of borage oil made a difference.

Thanks for listening to me ramble.

Good Monday morning peeps! Hope everyone is off to a great start.

Well, I had a great week last week. I gotta figure out what I did or didn't do, or maybe I was just due, but I am down 3.5 pounds to 155.5! I am 5.5 pounds from goal! Everytime I do that, I have a small loss the next week, so if that's the case, I'll be okay with it. As long as the scale is moving downward!

Keep on keeping on everyone!

Marsha - That's a great loss (19 lbs.) since October!

Missalissa - You're doing great! You'll be at goal in no time!

Mikki - Have a good day at work...I so wish I was going to work. Funny, when you're working, you wish you could stay home, and when you're staying home, you wish you could work. (At least this is what I'm experiencing.)

Good Morning everyone

Week one weighin
1-7-08 221
1-14-08 213.6

I am going to claim a 7lb loss for the week. I have to finish up our bathroom countertop and sinks today and cook ahead for the week, back to work tomorrow

Wtg on the weight losses!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And for those in a stall... remember it isn't really a stall unless it lasts 4 wks, sometimes our bodies have to adjust for a few days then you lose again.

Trish did look beautiful in her wedding dress

Have a great day &

Jilly, I had my son at 18 also. It's hard to believe hes going to be 32 this year.

Dani,

Michele, Thats one of my favorite shirts of his . He looks so good in western duds I kept buying them on ebay until I realised he had about 30 and thought I better quit buying them lol. Toms working on the bathroom sinks now yippie !!! (uh oh, I just heard a "damn" from the bathroom ) My gla is 240mg per cap, and I always had to take 4 to get results. Tom does well on just 2. Every now and then I throw in an extra one too just to see if it makes a difference, and it appears it does help.

Marsha , Don't work too hard !!! Great going on your total weight loss !!

Missalissa, congrats on the 3.5 loss...woohoo

Mikki, have a good day at work !!

Tom, congrats sweetie, your lookin great

I weighed in at 201.2 this morning...yeehaw...my cheat didn't hurt me. Its weird but everytime I have a small cheat, it kick starts my loss again. Thats 6 pound lost since I restarted

Hi ya'll,

Sorry 'bout being negative. And it was not my intention to "spew" anything. What a horrible thing to say!! I was sharing my heart struggles. When one is depressed, it is difficult to see anything but negative things. I expected people to understand that and be more compassionate. People try to tell depressed people to pull themselves up by their bootstraps but they don't realize that if one could, they would.

For those who do not struggle with depression, you should be very thankful and not look down on people who do. And if you ever do need to share your struggles, I pray you get more compassion than condemnation. Maybe you'll understand one day that it's embarrassing enough to deal with and it takes ALOT to share it publicly, without being rebuked openly for your situation and the depression and the struggles.

Do you know what a real SUPPORT group is? I know because I'm in real life cancer support groups and I have to give them up because we can't afford the gas to attend. I even have to give up going to church at times. The online support is the only one I have right now. Let me tell you, when a member of a real support group is hurting, they don't kick them when they're down, they offer a hand up and some understanding. They try to understand and empathize and help them get through it, not tell them to get over it.

If all you want is rah-rah posts, it's not a real support group and it's not real life. We all can't rah-rah every day, especially when dealing with some issues. The REAL support comes in when people are struggling. It's easy to rah-rah and slap each other on the back, but it's harder to have compassion and empathy when someone is hurting and struggling. I pray you all never have to deal with it.

It's not a choice to be depressed and see negatively, it's someone's reality. I thought it was OK to be honest here and not make up a false bravado. That's what support groups usually do, but if y'all would rather not hear it, I'll keep it to myself and try to work it out on my own.

I apologize for bringing the thread down and I'll just read along and not post my feelings or I'll just go someplace else. Y'all just post your happy stuff and I'll keep my feelings inside.

Phil: Thank you for the recommendations on the financial material. Hubby and I are looking into the Dave Ramsey stuff, but right now we cannot afford to purchase his material. Oooops, that is a negative, just strike that. :-(

Addios.

VickiLynn, Please don't leave. Sometimes when we are trying to help someone, (tough love) we go about it the wrong way. Yes it hard to understand when your not or ever have gone through something like that, but we do care and want you to stay. Please excuse my insensitivity. The negativity I was refering to was all of us trashing ourselves with our pictures, not what your going through. I wouldn't hurt you for anything in the world . We are here for you, so please come back and post whatever is on your mind, we will listen and be more understanding .

Mountain Girl - I deal with depression also, and feel some of the meds I'm on certainly do not help with my weight problems. I think all of life issues we are dealing with has reflected on our weight problems. I can relate to all you have said. Food has been my comfort for many years. I have a full life story also, some I have not mentioned or talked about, which I'm sure reflect on some of my problems. I had 4 relatives die within 3 months, my father in law, my husband, an aunt and uncle, then my dad. My son has cerebral palsy and I am 10 years cancer free from colon cancer. My mother had colon cancer and so did my dad. My mother is still alive and doing well. Now is the time to try and better my life, so I can live the rest of it to the fullest.

On a brighter note....I have not had any night time binges for about a week now!! I am so happy about that. Added some more supplements after a lot of research and reading. We are a good support group and we learn from each other, in the good times or the bad, the misunderstandings and trying to get over life's bumpy roads every day. Vent anytime, write to me anytime, I mentor 4 kids, have a Russian foster child who has a story you would not believe! Every one, hang in there,.....we will all make it together..

Mountain Girl.....I had the best intentions for you and was trying only to help you see things in a different light. To help pick you up when you were feeling down. Obviously it wasn't taken that way and my attempt failed. Sorry you feel the way you do.
